"He’s probably with his school. He’s not even answering his phone!"
Qin Rui laughed. "Oh, him? He’s super busy. I heard he’s secretly practicing his ’flute.’ Tee-hee!"
After speaking, the young woman’s pretty face flushed, and she couldn’t help but cover her mouth to stifle a giggle.
She had clearly pictured so rather... explicit imagery.
"You little perv! Do you want to learn, too?"
Li Xinran snorted with laughter and teased her with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, stop it! I think *you’re* the one who wants to learn!"
Qin Rui gave her a playful shove, and the two imdiately started horsing around.
「On the other side of the audience.」
In the section for the School of Accounting, He Wanqing was pouting, a gloomy look on her face. She was in a bad mood.
"Zhao Rui didn’t call you?"
the female friend beside her asked curiously.
"No."
He Wanqing sighed deeply. ’You should never fall for a guy who’s too outstanding.’
’Otherwise, you’ll just wear yourself out, body and soul.’
"He Wanqing, I have a performance later. Would you be able to co up and give flowers?"
Just then, a boy wearing light makeup and an exquisite performance costu walked over with a smile.
He was also holding a bouquet of fresh flowers.
This was a third-year senior from their departnt who was a great singer. The School of Accounting had chosen him as one of their acts for the show.
"Oh, it’s senior Xue ng!"
Before He Wanqing could even react, her friend had already shot to her feet, gasping in feigned surprise as she exclaid.
"Hello!"
Xue ng gave the friend an elegant nod, but his gaze quickly shifted to He Wanqing.
"I’m sorry, Senior. You should ask soone else."
He Wanqing refused without a mont’s hesitation.
"Oh..."
Xue ng hadn’t expected such a blunt refusal, and an embarrassed look imdiately crossed his face.
However, he quickly recovered with a smile and said graciously, "Alright then. Make sure you cheer for when I’m singing later!"
"No problem, Senior!"
She could refuse to give him flowers, but a small request like this was no problem at all.
With that, Xue ng turned and left the audience section, flowers in hand.
"Wow, Wanqing, why didn’t you agree? It was just giving him flowers, not a big deal."
her friend said, sounding a little disappointed.
"I just don’t want to. Can we please drop it?"
He Wanqing said, clearly annoyed, before turning her gaze forward toward the stage.
Xue ng’s arrival had drawn the attention of many nearby students. As soon as he left, they averted their gazes and began to whisper:
"Being pretty is a real asset. Xue ng is definitely interested in her!"
"Yeah, if it were , I would’ve said yes in a heartbeat. He’s so handso!"
"He sings so well, and he’s gorgeous."
"You’ve got a death wish! Be careful Zhao Rui doesn’t hear you, or he’ll smack you into next week!"
"Oof, I forgot. But still, if I had to choose, I’d pick Xue ng."
"I just have a thing for artsy guys."
"Too bad neither of them would choose you!"
"You’re so an!"
...
The annual Campus Arts Festival was a cultural event jointly organized by the university’s student union and the School of Arts.
It consisted of many smaller events, and tonight’s performance was the grand finale.
Below the stage, a massive crowd of students stared up in anticipation at the laser lights and display screens, which were beginning to cycle through different colors.
"Counting down... 3... 2... 1..."
As the host’s clear and pleasant voice rang out, the Arts Festival Gala officially kicked off.
A group of sexy young won in miniskirts rushed onto the stage and began to jump and dance.
Their performance instantly pushed the already electric atmosphere to a whole new level.
"Next, please welco Zhang Xin from the School of Arts, who will be performing a song for us..."
Soon, one spectacular act followed another.
"Our school’s up soon. Xue ng’s performance is a solo act, you know."
"In a minute, I want everyone to cheer your hearts out! Let’s show them the spirit of the School of Accounting!"
One of Xue ng’s classmates, a guy who was also the vice president of the departnt’s student council, was rallying the students in their section.
"Next, please welco a third-year student from the School of Accounting, Xue ng, who will be performing the song, ’One Look at You, and I Forget the Clear Skies’! Please give him a warm welco!"
As the host’s voice faded, a handsoly dressed Xue ng stepped onto the stage and began to sing with deep, heartfelt emotion.
"Ooh, ooh, he’s so handso, that senior!"
"Go, Xue ng!"
"Xue ng, we love you!"
Cheers erupted one after another from the School of Accounting’s section. Many of the girls jumped to their feet, excitedly waving their glow sticks.
On stage, Xue ng was clearly a seasoned perforr, singing with effortless charisma while still rembering to interact with the students in the audience.
As the song gradually built to its climax, a spotlight suddenly shone down on him.
He slowly descended the steps of the stage and began walking toward the School of Accounting’s section.
The spotlight followed him the entire way!
Just as he entered his departnt’s designated area, the sa vice president who had been rallying the crowd picked up a bouquet of flowers from beside his seat and placed it in his hands.
This was clearly all part of the act.
The crowd burst into applause and cheers.
Everyone assud he had co down from the stage just for this dramatic effect.
But after taking the flowers, he didn’t turn back. Instead, he continued singing as he walked straight toward the first-year section.
All eyes followed him.
A mont later, he stopped right in front of He Wanqing.
The mont was captured by the caras and broadcast onto the massive screens, instantly inciting a roar of cheers from the audience.
Xue ng continued to sing with deep emotion as he struck a gentlemanly pose, offering the bouquet to He Wanqing.
"Wow, that girl is gorgeous!"
"So there really are couples that look this perfect together!"
"Take it! Take it! Take it!"
There was never a shortage of people in the world who loved to egg on a spectacle.
