The Ei Sect may be located on Golden Summit Peak, but the peak itself isn’t part of the sect’s grounds.
It had long since beco a popular tourist destination.
Zhao Rui followed the iron chain-link paths and found a small trail, rock climbing to the base of Golden Summit Mountain. He then used his Lightweight Skill to leap across a ravine, sneaking onto a mountain path within the scenic area.
From there, he ascended the stone steps, blending in with the scattered tourists on their way to Golden Summit Peak.
The sun was just beginning to rise, its golden light bathing the world. The tourists, imrsed in the brilliant morning glow, watched the sea of clouds churn and surge below—a truly unique experience.
"I’ve heard that a Martial Arts Sect with a long history, called Ei, is located here. Yet, I haven’t seen any sign of it on my way up."
Just then, a young man curiously asked the old man standing beside him.
The young man had a magnificent air about him. He stood with his hands clasped behind his back, gazing out at the strange, churning sea of clouds before them.
"Upper Envoy, you may not be aware, but the Ei Sect isn’t located right here. Look over there..."
The old man raised a hand, pointing toward a deep, mist-shrouded valley below. "There’s a place down there called the Sword Washing Pavilion," he said. "If fate allows, you might be able to hear the Ei Disciples practicing their swords."
"But it seems they haven’t made an appearance today."
"Oh? So they shroud themselves in such mystery. I wonder if their reputation is just for show!" the young man said haughtily, his tone showing little respect for the Ei Sect.
"The Ei Sect is divided into inner and outer branches. They cultivate both Buddhist Teachings and Buddhist Swordsmanship, and they have countless masters among their ranks. They are truly not to be underestimated."
"Is that so? In that case, I must go have a look."
A wicked smile played on the young man’s lips. He turned slightly, his gaze sweeping over the nearby tourists who had stopped to admire the view. His eyes flickered.
Instantly, everyone around him fell into a stupor, as if their very souls had been torn from their bodies.
"’Now here’s an interesting one!’"
The young man’s figure blurred, and in an instant, he was in front of Zhao Rui, one hand reaching for his neck.
Zhao Rui was shocked. He had only detected a faint ripple of transmitted sound, yet his opponent had already found him.
With a single glance from his opponent, it felt as if a giant hand had seized his Divine Soul, plunging his mind into chaos and making his body feel as if it were sinking into a mire.
If his Charm Immortal Technique hadn’t automatically shielded his Divine Soul, he would have likely been turned into a walking corpse.
Seeing his attacker closing in, Zhao Rui was horrified. He instantly channeled all the vast Inner Strength from his Dantian to activate the Six Yi Charm Immortal Technique.
He pushed the Charm Technique Spell in his sea of consciousness to its absolute limit, trying to break this illusory power with his own Charm Technique.
But the man’s Evil Skill was bizarre, and his Power was terrifying. Even at full strength, the Six Yi Charm Immortal Technique could only resist for a brief mont.
If the Six Yi Charm Immortal Technique didn’t specialize in the Cultivation of the Divine Soul, even a Tenth Level Martial Artist would likely have been instantly subdued by the man’s Evil Technique.
Fortunately, that single mont of resistance was enough to give him a brief respite. The acupoints he had opened along his Hand Taiyin Lung ridian burst open, frantically absorbing the pure True Qi scattered throughout the world.
This True Qi then flowed along his ridians into his Dantian, before circulating throughout his body according to the Six Yi Charm Immortal Technique’s Cultivation thod.
In an instant, the power of his Charm Immortal Technique surged exponentially.
He just barely managed to withstand the assault on his Divine Soul.
"Detected copyable Martial Art: Heavenly Demon Illusory Sound! Copy?"
Zhao Rui had no ti to heed the system’s prompt. Seizing the brief mont of resistance, he pushed his Wandering Dragon Step to its limit and bolted back the way he ca.
"’Trying to run?!’"
A cold glint flashed in the young man’s eyes. He had been certain his grab would succeed and never expected it to be dodged.
Annoyance flared within him. With a flicker of movent, his figure blurred and reappeared behind Zhao Rui.
’Dammit! What the hell did I ever do to you?!’
In his heart, Zhao Rui was already cursing the young man’s entire family tree.
"’Go down!’"
The young man extended a pale, slender hand and slowly brought his palm toward Zhao Rui’s back.
Zhao Rui had no intention of just taking the hit. He twisted his body, ford a sword-finger, and unleashed all his Force, flicking out a blast of Gang Qi.
They were so close that even the young man, despite his supre Divine Skill, couldn’t help but show a flicker of surprise at the finger-strike.
But the surprise lasted only for an instant. With a wave of his hand, the young man swatted Zhao Rui’s blast of Gang Qi away.
At the sa ti, his palm continued toward Zhao Rui, its speed undiminished.
’Shit!’
Now Zhao Rui was truly stunned.
’He can just swat away Gang Qi? Are you kidding ?!’
’That’s it, I’m going all out!’
Zhao Rui roared in his mind. He dumped all of his remaining Advancent Points into the acupoints of his Hand Taiyang Small Intestine ridian.
At the sa ti, he frantically absorbed True Qi from the world around him.
He channeled everything he had into the Prajna Palm.
And t the incoming Palm Force with a desperate strike of his own.
The two palms collided. A massive force erupted from the point of impact.
A sharp pain shot through Zhao Rui’s arm. His body went limp, like a kite with a snapped string, and he plumted toward the ravine below.
The young man watched Zhao Rui fall, a look of astonishnt on his face. After a brief mont of hesitation, he actually leaped down into the ravine after him.
He closed the distance to Zhao Rui with incredible speed.
In monts, he was just a few feet from Zhao Rui’s side.
He ford his right hand into a dragon’s claw. With a sharp pulling motion, he instantly drew Zhao Rui’s body into his grasp.
Simultaneously, he slapped his left palm downward several tis to arrest their fall. Then, with light taps of his feet against the cliff face, he soared back up.
Within monts, he was back on the summit.
The old man had watched the young man’s maneuvers with a calm, leisurely air. He smiled and said, "Has the boy piqued your interest, Upper Envoy?"
The young man casually sealed Zhao Rui’s acupoints and chuckled. "He managed to counter two of my Killing Moves. He’s certainly interesting."
"Let’s go. Ti to pay the Ei Sect a visit."
With that, the young man grabbed Zhao Rui and leaped into the air, flying across the chasm toward the opposing peak.
Seeing this, the old man just shook his head with a slight smile. He gave a wave of his hand toward the dazed crowd of tourists, then his figure blurred as he followed after them.
A few monts later, the tourists slowly ca to their senses. Completely oblivious to what had just happened, they went back to admiring the beautiful scenery from the summit.
