"Splurt~"
"Ah!!!"
"Gurgle gurgle gurgle..."
In a certain mansion in Celestial River City, the Demon King Kamaki gazed at the bright red liquid in his cup, swirling the glass in his hand with a face full of intoxicated pleasure, and sighed:
"Now this is the true delicacy of the mortal world."
A Demon General looked greedily at the motionless human and said to Kamaki:
"My lord, about this..."
How could Kamaki not see the little sche in his subordinate’s eyes? He waved his hand directly and said:
"Carry her down and share her with the brothers."
The Demon General was instantly overjoyed and said:
"Thank you for the reward, my lord."
As he spoke, the Demon General pulled over two Demon Spirits guarding the door and said:
"You two, carry her to the back for ."
Hearing that, the two Demon Spirits were imdiately wildly surprised and said excitedly:
"Okay."
When the two Demon Spirits walked up to the human they thought was surely dead, they imdiately exclaid in excitent:
"She’s actually not dead yet."
The Demon General could no longer wait and urged:
"Hurry, hurry, hurry, take her away."
At this mont, the human being carried suddenly mumbled unconsciously from her mouth, "Kill ..."
...
...
"Those damn bastards!!!"
"So vile."
In a hidden corner, Red Eyes clenched his teeth as he stared at the bloody scene in the distance. The wave of nausea was accompanied by a naless, overwhelming rage.
If he could, he wished so badly he could rush out and save that innocent life.
But facing the densely packed Demon Race army all around, Red Eyes knew very well that finding Isabelle’s location was now the absolute top priority.
Though his heart resisted, Red Eyes could only make the latter choice between the two.
Looking at the luxurious building not far away (the Mage Guild), Red Eyes could clearly feel a terrifying Power emanating from within.
With Red Eyes’ current Concealnt ability, in this city the only ones who might detect him were Demon Lord Wenger and those two Demon Kings.
As for whether Yamada Miki could notice him, Red Eyes had no way of knowing yet.
What Red Eyes hadn’t expected was that the very first place he ca to already had a Demon King inside.
Precisely because of that, Red Eyes could only hide outside the Demon King’s detection range and witness all of this, not daring to act rashly at all.
Just then, a commotion suddenly ca from outside.
At the sa ti, an explosive shout ca from inside the building:
"What’s all that noise outside?"
At this mont inside the building, Kamaki’s face showed clear disgust, obviously because the disturbance had ruined his current mood.
A Demon General rushed in in a panic and said to Kamaki:
"Demon King, my lord."
"Human traces have been found at the north gate."
"Hmm?"
The wine glass that had been gently swaying suddenly froze in Kamaki’s long, slender fingers:
"Human?"
Kamaki suddenly asked:
"Do you know who they are, and how many?"
The Demon General hesitated for a mont and said:
"We haven’t seen anyone yet."
Kamaki’s face suddenly darkened, a sharp killing intent hidden in his tone as he said:
"What did you say? Haven’t seen anyone? Hm."
Frightened by the killing intent radiating from Kamaki, the Demon General imdiately collapsed to the ground and pleaded:
"Please spare , Demon King, my lord."
"We truly haven’t seen anyone, but a large number of Undead soldiers suddenly appeared outside the north gate."
"I suspect that person is a Necromancer like Demon Venerable, my lord."
"He must be hiding nearby."
When Kamaki heard that, he suddenly stood up and said:
"A Necromancer?"
Then Kamaki seed to be weighing sothing. A aningful smile appeared on his face.
After a mont, Kamaki finally spoke:
"Guard this place for . Don’t let anyone approach inside. I’ll go take a look."
Whether it was because of anger or not, Kamaki’s voice at this ti was loud enough for everyone outside to hear clearly.
The Demons in the great hall replied in unison:
"Yes, my lord!"
Watching Kamaki spread a pair of huge Feather Wings, take off in front of the building and fly away, Red Eyes, hiding in the dark, couldn’t help the joy flashing across his face:
’A good chance.’
Previously, with a Demon King sitting here, Red Eyes simply couldn’t get close, and naturally had no way to check whether Isabelle was inside.
Now that the Demon King had left, Red Eyes imdiately seized the opportunity. His figure flickered like a ghost, weaving through the densely packed Demons around the building.
In no ti at all, Red Eyes had already slipped ’effortlessly’ into the ’Mage Guild’.
At this mont, the surrounding Demons didn’t sense in the slightest that soone had slipped into the great hall.
As a giant force on the Rafam Continent, the Mage Guild naturally occupied an enormous area.
According to the intel provided by Handso-as-Hell, if Isabelle was here, the most likely place she’d be was the Magic Altar on the third floor of the Mage Guild.
Normally, that place was used to help Magic System Players advance, so it was filled with many complex Arrays supplying various Magic System Players.
However, in the next instant—
Just as Red Eyes was about to move toward the nearby stairs to head up to the third floor, a mocking voice suddenly ca from behind the great hall:
"Were you looking for ?"
Red Eyes turned his head in shock, only to see Yamada Miki standing at the doorway with a smile, looking right at him.
And standing right beside Red Eyes was the Demon King Kamaki, who had returned.
In that instant, a chill crawled up Red Eyes’ spine as a terrifying thought flashed through his mind:
"They knew I was coming all along."
He’d walked into a trap!!!
The mont Red Eyes realized sothing was wrong, it was obviously too late to Return to City (10-second cast bar, easily interrupted). He imdiately pulled up the system interface and chose:
"Log out!"
In that split second—
Kamaki yanked Red Eyes out of his invisibility, and a system prompt instantly popped up before Red Eyes’ eyes:
System: "Logout failed, please try again later."
[Confirm]
Optional:
[Force Disconnect] Note: Choosing force quit may result in character loss. Please proceed with caution.
Red Eyes flew into a rage and cursed:
"Damn it."
Yamada Miki looked at the utterly dejected Red Eyes, an unfathomable expression on his face, and said:
"I’ve been waiting here for you all for a long ti."
Right then, sothing popped into Red Eyes’ mind.
He quickly sent a voice-text ssage in the party channel:
Red Eyes (Party mber): "Leave here and return to Hua Country, now! The Demon Race has been prepared for us from the start. Run!"
But very soon, Red Eyes received a reply from Heaven’s Gift:
Heaven’s Gift (Party Leader): "You’re too late. /depressed."
...
anwhile, behind a hidden Stone Forest outside Celestial River City:
The Demon King Samael looked at the woman standing with her back to him, a cat-playing-with-mouse delight on his face, and suddenly spoke:
"Having fun?"
