In a pavilion in the back garden of the City Lord’s Mansion in Cyan Dragon City, Babylon looked leisurely at the visitor:
"You’ve arrived!"
He didn’t seem inclined to get up to greet, directly pointing to a chair nearby:
"Sit wherever you like."
Before the pavilion, Lin Yi walked over slowly.
Looking at Babylon in the pavilion, Lin Yi frowned slightly, unsure if Babylon’s summon was coincidental or deliberate.
On his way over, Lin Yi had already thought that Babylon must have known about the Great Elder’s death.
Given the previous relationship between Gamplov and Babylon, what puzzled Lin Yi was the lack of sadness on Babylon’s face.
Was Babylon such a heartless and unfeeling person? Lin Yi imdiately dismissed this notion.
Lin Yi believed he wasn’t perfect at judging people, but although Babylon often seed unreliable, there was no questioning his loyalty and friendship.
Thus, for so reason, when seeing Babylon’s casual deanor, Lin Yi had a gut feeling that there might be more to the Great Elder’s death than t the eye.
After all, it had happened too suddenly, without any warning signs.
Of course, these were rely Lin Yi’s deductions from observing Babylon’s state; he had no clues about the real situation.
Upon entering the pavilion, Lin Yi didn’t hesitate and found himself a seat.
Then Babylon waved away the guards and servants on either side, and Lin Yi straightforwardly asked:
"Tell , why did you call here?"
Babylon was equally direct:
"I’ve heard about Elder Gamplov. Now, I need to know what you plan to do about it?"
"What do you an, what to do?"
Lin Yi looked at Babylon with confusion:
"What do you an by that?"
Babylon only uttered two words:
"The killer."
Lin Yi suddenly felt a jolt, looking at Babylon in disbelief, and said excitedly:
"You know who the killer is!"
Babylon suddenly turned serious, looking at Lin Yi intently, and uttered each word clearly:
"What will you do if this fierce beast is far more powerful than you?"
Lin Yi didn’t spare extra words, replying with just one:
"Kill!"
Babylon was montarily stunned by this response but quickly regained composure and continued:
"But if his strength is way beyond you, and even with all your companions, you can’t take him down, what will you do then?"
Lin Yi stared straight at Babylon, and Babylon calmly t his gaze. Lin Yi replied seriously:
"You should know the abilities we Chosen Ones possess."
"Being no match now doesn’t an we won’t be in the future."
"As soon as I find out who it is, even if he’s a god in the heavens, I will surely see him destroyed!"
He added at the end:
"It’s either him or !"
Babylon was greatly surprised by this Chosen One before him, as if Lin Yi was the first Chosen One Babylon had ever seen.
For so reason, from the first ti he saw Lin Yi, Babylon had inexplicable goodwill towards this Chosen One.
This was also why, later on, he was willing to risk punishnt from the Father God (system) to enter the Abyssal Demon Realm to seek revenge for Lin Yi.
Now, hearing Lin Yi’s response, Babylon shed his previous serious deanor:
"I think if the Great Elder were alive to hear this, he would feel comforted by his choice."
Lin Yi was taken aback, looking nervously at Babylon:
"What do you an by that?"
"Do you know sothing?"
"And who is the killer?"
Babylon suddenly gestured Lin Yi to stop as he continued to question:
"Stop, stop, stop!"
"Let finish first."
With a heart full of agitation, Lin Yi anxiously sat back down.
At this mont, Babylon tossed a small sword to Lin Yi:
"Here, catch."
Lin Yi instinctively caught it.
Lin Yi then looked down at the purple little sword in his hand.
The scabbard was engraved with mysterious patterns.
When Lin Yi held the little sword, a system notification suddenly appeared before his eyes:
"You have triggered a hidden task. Do you accept?"
[Accept] [Decline]
Lin Yi looked at Babylon, startled:
"What is this?"
Babylon, reclining in a rocking chair, chuckled:
"This was entrusted to by the Great Elder, for after sothing happened to him, I would give it to you."
The Great Elder’s item!!!
Upon hearing this, Lin Yi’s hair stood on end.
According to Babylon, it seed the Great Elder had already foreseen trouble, hence he had entrusted this to Babylon to give to Lin Yi after his demise?!
Suddenly, a spark of hope ignited within Lin Yi, and he quickly chose: [Accept].
"Congratulations, you’ve received the hidden task: Gamplov’s Request."
[Hidden Task: Elf Race’s Great Elder Gamplov’s Request.]
Task Requirent: Resurrect the Elf Race’s Great Elder, Gamplov 0/1.
Task Level: ★★★★★ (Highest)
Task Hint: Please proceed to the coordinates: Pilgrimage Mountain 3521:213, find Elvin to unlock the Holy Mountain’s Secret Collection.
"Gamplov: Death is not the end of life; it may signify another cycle."
Lin Yi excitedly stood up:
"There’s still hope for the Great Elder? Is this true? Wonderful."
Perhaps at this mont, nothing could be better news for Lin Yi.
However, Babylon suddenly poured cold water on Lin Yi’s excitent:
"Don’t get too happy just yet. If you can’t complete this task, not even the Father God himself could resurrect him."
Lin Yi suddenly thought of sothing, looking at Babylon:
"What else do you know?"
Babylon didn’t acknowledge Lin Yi’s question, but continued:
"But if you can accomplish this task, it will have imnse benefits not just for the Great Elder, but for you as well."
Babylon stood up, ca to Lin Yi’s side, patted him on the shoulder, and said aningfully:
"This opportunity was sothing the Great Elder risked his life to secure for you. I hope you don’t let his painstaking efforts go to waste."
This ti, Lin Yi was indeed astounded!
Babylon’s words continued:
"The Great Elder’s willingness to face death and find life from it, I initially opposed."
"Unfortunately, the Great Elder stubbornly insisted, believing you won’t let him down."
After saying this, Babylon directly walked out of the pavilion, saying calmly:
"The world is on the verge of great change; only you Chosen Ones can prevent the impending disaster."
"Young man, do your best!"
Lin Yi stood in the pavilion, repeatedly reviewing the task content.
Among them, the words [Resurrect Elf Race’s Great Elder, Gamplov] gave Lin Yi an imnse sense of exhilaration.
Now, the despondency Lin Yi felt before had vanished, replaced by a burning fighting spirit:
"Rest assured, Great Elder, I won’t let you down."
Yet as Lin Yi looked towards the task location, he fell deep into thought.
Pilgrimage Mountain, it seed the Titan race’s treasure task was also there, which Lin Yi originally planned to attempt after reaching level 50.
But now, it seed this plan had to be advanced on his schedule.
Lin Yi then released a ssage to the rcenary Corps:
Feng Hua (rcenary Corps Leader): "If anyone has matters to attend to, arrange them in advance. Tomorrow, everyone will start pushing for level 50 with full force!"
Lin Yi then looked in the direction of Pilgrimage Mountain, as both missions were there, and the God Kalsa fell on that very Divine Mountain.
Sohow, Lin Yi had a feeling.
He felt that the Great Elder’s death was essentially to make Lin Yi step into that mysterious land sooner.
But is this really the case?
This answer could only be revealed when he finally enters Pilgrimage Mountain.
