"What is that?"
Everyone followed Lin Yi’s gaze but saw that he was staring at a wall with excitent. However, from others’ perspectives, there was nothing there.
Lin Yi seed to notice the bewildered looks from the crowd and asked:
"Can’t you see it?"
Everyone shook their heads.
Lin Yi was also quite surprised by this, but he did not dwell on it and strode forward.
At where there used to be a wall, the crowd saw Lin Yi reach out and easily pass his hand through the wall, leaving them dumbfounded and puzzled:
"Is it a blinding technique?"
Then, under the nearly stunned gaze of everyone, Lin Yi directly pulled out an old-looking notebook from the wall.
Lin Yi, holding the notebook, did not rush to look at it but stepped back to his original position and said:
"In a mont, whoever I call, move to the side."
Lin Yi wanted to find the cause of the phenonon.
Lin Yi:
"Heaven-given!"
Heaven-given stepped aside, and Lin Yi could still see the secret compartnt.
Lin Yi:
"Gorgeous."
Gorgeous moved aside, and it remained the sa.
It wasn’t until Lin Yi called Stable as a Mountain that the secret compartnt disappeared.
Lin Yi looked at Stable as a Mountain in surprise:
"Uncle Steady, go back to your previous position."
When Stable as a Mountain stood back, the secret compartnt reappeared.
Lin Yi was astonished:
"Stay there and don’t move."
As Lin Yi walked to the side, he noticed the secret compartnt disappeared once more.
But when he returned to the previous position, the secret compartnt appeared again.
Lin Yi thus deduced that this secret compartnt could only be seen when standing in a fixed position, which was astonishing.
Then, after Lin Yi walked next to Stable as a Mountain, he discovered a tiny air vent above him.
A thin beam of light was shining into the room through here; it was hard to notice without careful observation.
Lin Yi then saw that the beam of light was reflecting off the tal shield on Stable as a Mountain’s back, and through the refraction of light...
The mysterious array on the wall!!!
Lin Yi was instantly stunned by the discovery...
This was hidden way too deeply.
If it weren’t for a series of coincidences coming together, who could have thought the key clue was hidden so intricately?
At this mont, Heaven-given suddenly spoke:
"Boss Feng, is it done?"
Everyone looked anxiously at Lin Yi, and he nodded:
"It’s done!"
Imdiately, except for Isabelle kneeling on the ground, along with Zhang Xinying and Wang Zixin next to her, everyone gathered around, with Dongfang Jing being the most impatient.
"Take a look at what this is."
A few people then found a place, and Lin Yi opened the notebook made of so animal skin, and it was filled with journal-like entries.
It started with a date:
"Creation Calendar, Year 2545, that man appeared before for the first ti..."
Dongfang Jing blurted out:
"Over two thousand years ago."
Later, Lin Yi, upon flipping through the notebook, realized it was indeed the record left behind by that Necromancer, starting with the ti when the Dragon God approached him.
It was also from the notebook that Lin Yi and the others understood that Dragon Island was indeed not part of the Rafam Continent’s dinsion.
The reason Dragon Island did not leave after discovering the Rafam Continent was because, during its ’wandering’ among various dinsions, it found the existence of Dragon Souls in Rafam.
And it was the first person to trigger the Dragon Contract that led the Dragon God at the ti to decide to stay and unravel the secrets of Dragon Souls.
Also, from then on, Dragon Island would periodically search the continent for top talents to see if they could trigger the Dragon Contract again.
Unfortunately, after the first person triggered the Dragon Contract, it wasn’t until a thousand years later that Kalsa beca the second to do so.
Of course, there were no records of the first person who triggered the Dragon Contract, just a brief ntion.
During this ti, the Dragon God learned that there was a Necromancer on the Rafam Continent who specialized in dealing with the undead. So, he sought out the renowned Undead Mage God, Samson, of the ti.
Samson was also one of the few on the Rafam Continent who had advanced to divine level through necromancy research.
In the eyes of the Dragon God then, weren’t the undead just souls?
So he sought out Samson to go to Dragon Island for research on Dragon Souls.
The later parts of the notebook detailed the progress and process of the research, and indeed, over a millennium, the guy managed to unearth so findings.
He found out that the most crucial condition to trigger the Dragon Contract was a soul compatibility of 100% between both parties.
Not all giant dragons would beco Dragon Souls after death; this depended on the dragon’s soul strength.
According to the old man’s research, if one hundred giant dragons died, only one would convert into an unconscious Dragon Soul state, existing on Dragon Island.
Moreover, Dragon Souls were not immortal.
Turning into a Dragon Soul still ant constant Power of the Soul consumption until depletion, at which point the Dragon Soul would dissipate into the void.
Then there’s the issue of soul compatibility. Souls are intangible spiritual bodies, and theoretically, there shouldn’t exist two people with 100% soul compatibility in this world.
Yet they encountered such a person, plunging Samson into endless madness.
Later, he even encouraged the Dragon God to provide live dragons for his research.
Surprisingly, the Dragon God agreed to such a perverse request, much to the shock of Lin Yi and the others.
It was precisely because of this that the secret of the Dragon Soul was never unveiled. Instead, the necromancer researched a magic capable of directly attacking souls.
Directly attacking soone’s soul?
Can you imagine what kind of thod that is!
No matter how strong a person is, their soul remains fragile.
If injured, recovery is possible through various ans.
But if the soul is damaged, healing is almost impossible, and one might easily perish.
Lin Yi could imagine that the Dragon God probably got injured initially because his soul was struck by this mage?
At the end of the notebook, it docunted the necromancer’s nearly insane idea, which was to strengthen his soul power through soul absorption and then conduct soul projection experints!
When Lin Yi closed the book, a chill ran down his spine, and his scalp tingled.
Heaven-given couldn’t help but exclaim:
"Is he a genius or a madman?"
After reading the book’s content, along with what Isabelle previously ntioned, Lin Yi suddenly had a strong feeling:
"Isabelle, take us to your father’s Dragon Cave."
