Now reading: Chapter 315 - 5: Departure and Arrival (Part 3) from I Can See Health Bars in Real Life, a Fantasy novel by Momentary brilliance.

"Don’t worry, I have no intention of eating this thing..." Gu Mo tugged at the corner of his mouth. He wasn’t that insane. This wasn’t even the Ginseng Fruit of Immortal Zhenyuan, yet it dared to look like this. How confident could it be!

He glanced at the attributes marked by the system, which were basically as Kikyo had described.

Casually tossing the fruit in his hand aside, he turned around and looked in the direction of the Witch: "Let’s go check it out then. We have to go this way anyway."

...

...

On the other side—

In the previous village, Himura Kago and her group had followed the clues to this place, but they ca up empty-handed. Their target had left overnight in the deep of the night yesterday, and now no one knew how far they had gone. Naturally, they wouldn’t encounter them.

"The Witch is really a good person..."

"How could she leave without saying a word to us!"

"I thought sothing was wrong when I didn’t see Miss Kikyo leaving today, and Lord Mo too..."

"It’s all the fault of those two monks yesterday! It’s definitely their fault! Damn it! I should have broken their legs back then!"

Faced with the visit from Inuyasha’s group, the villagers, already furious, initially thought they had intentions similar to those of the damn bald monks from the previous day. They almost rushed over with hoes and dung forks.

After a lot of explaining, the misunderstanding was cleared up, and the villagers vented their frustrations, explaining that the Witch had left overnight yesterday. While lanting with heavy sighs, so gritted their teeth, developing a deep-seated hatred for the monks’ profession.

After all, they thought it was all the fault of those two bald monks yesterday! Otherwise, the beloved Miss Kikyo wouldn’t have left!

"I always feel like they want to kill ..."

Master Maitreya had a stiff smile on his face, cold sweat forming on his forehead as the villagers from all directions cast unfriendly glances at him, making him feel imnse pressure.

The silver-haired Half-Demon dressed in red Fire Rat Fur, sporting a pair of dog ears on his head, remained silent as he quietly observed the village before him.

"Inuyasha..." The girl in the sailor uniform behind him didn’t know what to feel. When they received the clue about the two monks in the morning and planned to follow it up, Inuyasha wanted to go alone, hoping they wouldn’t interfere... or rather, hoping she wouldn’t interfere.

Taking a deep breath, she was about to say sothing but noticed that Inuyasha had already started walking forward.

The few exchanged glances and promptly followed. Before long, they arrived in front of a house at the edge of the village. Although it seed different from the other village dwellings, the air was filled with a faint dicinal aroma, and Himura Kago suddenly realized—was this where Kikyo used to live?

"Who are you?!"

At that mont, the curtain of the door was lifted, and a sowhat disheartened little girl ca out, followed by a group of children who looked equally depressed and disinterested.

Seeing several strangers standing in front of the house, the little girl imdiately beca alert and asked warily. After all, they either wore strange clothing or had distinctive features of the Demon Race, and the visitors hadn’t interacted with the villagers, so they were naturally wary.

Without saying much, Inuyasha glanced through the window, noticing it was empty inside, and sighed: "Let’s go... Kikyo has left here and won’t be coming back."

"You’re lying! Sister Kikyo will definitely co back!"

Upon hearing this, the little girl imdiately retorted angrily.

She had been frightened last night, still just a child, and couldn’t be blad for her instinctive reaction at the ti. But after the two left, she realized and felt regret and frustration. Even though immature, she vaguely understood that it might have been her reaction that made the Witch Sister leave sadly.

However, even adults find it hard to face their problems, to escape reality, to deny facts, let alone a child.

So Xiao Ye stubbornly believed that the Witch Sister would definitely co back, and so would the Big Brother! Upon hearing the stranger’s boisterous remarks, she couldn’t hold back and loudly refuted: "Sister Kikyo told she wouldn’t leave; after marrying Big Brother, she would always stay in the village!"

Grandpa the Village Chief also said so! Everyone said so!

Absolutely! Absolutely, it is like this! Xiao Ye stubbornly thought! She couldn’t accept that the two had just left the village.

"You... what did you say?!!"

Inuyasha originally didn’t care much about the little brat’s indignation and was about to leave, but suddenly he turned back, his eyes wide open!

...

...

Elsewhere.

The surrounding fog was dense and mysterious, with very low visibility. The riverbanks were no longer strewn with rocks or barren land but transford into uneven rocky cliffs. Mountain ridges towered, cliff faces rose steeply, resembling a deep valley where even sunlight couldn’t penetrate.

"Achoo!"

Casually rubbing his nose, Gu Mo looked up, surveying the large tree before him, and spoke: "This is it, right? The Human-faced Fruit Tree?"

It was a large, lush tree, giving off a sweetly cloying scent, growing on a protruding shoal by the riverbank. The tree was covered with fruits the size of human heads—at first glance, they looked like giant peaches. But in fact, they were all "human heads."

The two had followed the fruits upstream and finally found the source.

"This is it..."

The Witch stepped forward and looked up at the human-headed fruits on the tree, furrowing her brow with an expression of unwillingness and softly said, "This Demon Tree grew in such a secluded place—how could it have the opportunity to eat so many people? Besides... it’s not a Demon."

The spirituality of the Demon Tree was considerable, yet it hadn’t transford into a real Demon and was still just a plant. It couldn’t jump or run and couldn’t leave its original rooted place, always growing here.

"Soone is feeding it..."

Raising her head thoughtfully, Kikyo’s gaze followed the irregular rocky cliff upwards, vanishing into the hazy, enveloping mist above. Although unclear about the situation on the mountain, she could feel sothing.

"There’s a fragnt of Jade up there." The Witch said calmly.

"Ha, speak of the devil and the devil appears..." Gu Mo chuckled softly. He ntally sorted the plot and recalled where this place was.

It seed to be a secluded Immortal’s residence called Peach Blossom Spring. However, it had turned into a ss now, with the Elder Immortal falling victim to his own disciple’s treachery, the Peach Blossom Spring overtaken and the house stolen... The ruthless disciple, gaining power by consuming Human-faced Fruits and obtaining a Four Souls Jade Fragnt, was now occupying this place—the Peach Fruit Man.

There seed to be quite a few good items here, excluding the nefarious Human-faced Fruits. The Elder Immortal’s legacy alone was a rather rich inheritance.

Gu Mo rembered a courtyard bonsai that could create a landscape world, allowing people to live and farm in its miniature space. Originally used by the Elder Immortal to cultivate his disciples’ resolve and diligence, it later beca a place for the Peach Fruit Man to breed humans as livestock for consumption.

Besides this magical bonsai world, there was also an Ancient Vine Magic Staff that could enlarge or shrink humans or demons at will, and a gourd with internal space, able to suck people in.

All in all, these were very nice treasures that, combined with the savagery of the Peach Fruit Man, played a powerful role. If mory served, the protagonist group had a tough ti here and nearly got wiped out... Wait a minute, why did it feel like they were always near annihilation?

Thinking it over, Gu Mo casually said, "Should we chop down this tree first?"

Kikyo shook her head and pointed upwards: "Let’s go up and check the situation first, don’t alert the enemy..."

She gently beckoned, and a few slender and elegantly poised Flying Snakes erged with shimring lights, seemingly preparing to ride them up the mountain via the Death Soul Worm.

Standing aside, Gu Mo raised his hand as if he were a schoolboy, saying, "Um—can you give a lift too, Kikyo?"

Facing the calm gaze of the Witch, looking directly into her gentle eyes, he answered with great composure, without feeling embarrassed at all: "I can’t fly."
