The flying speed of the Death Soul Worm wasn’t fast, but ultimately it traveled in a straight line without needing to consider terrain factors, and Maple Village wasn’t particularly far away.

The distant forest was enveloped in a miasma invisible to ordinary eyes, but in Gu Mo’s eyes, it appeared as if the forest was faintly emitting a glow, reminiscent of the luminescent vegetation on Pandora Planet, quite beautiful.

Kikyo gave him a deep look, nodded slightly, and said softly.
During the journey, the witch hadn’t inquired about anything, such as the other party’s true origins or the things he knew, not because she completely disbelieved or disregarded him, but because she had her own plans, prepared to verify the most pressing issues first.

Now, she intended to see her sister. Since Himura Kago could speak so confidently about a hidden truth from fifty years ago, and didn’t seem to be fabricating, the best way for her to verify this was indeed to ask her sister.

She turned back around, gently lifted the curtain, and entered the house.
Inside the house, charcoal was burning in the fireplace. Although not blazing and intense, it provided a faint red glow, not entirely dark, and the glow brought a warm warmth, revealing the silhouette of an old woman sleeping not far from the fireplace.
Kikyo moved lightly, making no sound as she ca in, but the old woman awoke imdiately, reaching her arm towards the bow and arrow beside her.
Once she saw the person who entered, she was completely stunned.
"Feng, it’s been a long ti..."
Kikyo carefully observed her now-aged sister, sighed gently, and spoke.

Gu Mo watched the witch’s figure disappear behind the curtain, and without further delay, turned and walked directly through the fields towards the mountain foothills, where the vast forest lay.
Entering the forest, he didn’t feel the pervasive miasma affecting him with any DEBUFF. This miasma, invisible to ordinary eyes, wasn’t toxic or corrosive in nature but more like a dispersed Demon Qi. The energy didn’t seem convoluted, nor was it emitted by many different demons.
Presumably, over the years, the village had brought the corpses of slaughtered demons here for disposal. Kikyo, who once guarded the Four Souls Jade, had killed an untold number of attacking demons. Over the years, the remains and essences of dead demons likely transford into the miasma shrouding the entire forest.
