Is this really necessary?
Seeing the rmaid, who was as tense as a dried salted fish, fall off her chair and faint on the spot, Leon couldn't help but shake his head. He then looked up at the other kings who were equally stunned and frowned:
"You all..."
"Don't do anything rash!"
After collectively retreating a bit further from the Food God, the old King of the Sea Cliff Country mustered his courage and shouted harshly... although not very loudly:
"Our itinerary has been reported to the local Clearing Bureau! If sothing happens to us and we don't return, people from the Capricorn branch will quickly co looking! You'll be held accountable by then!"
"Yes!"
Following the lead of the Sea Cliff King, the King of Kidney Deficiency of the Kingdom of Orleson also gathered his courage, his face as white as a sheet, and threatened:
"No matter how strong you are, you can't make the entire Clearing Bureau your personal domain! If you dare to harm us, the others in the Clearing Bureau won't let you off!"
"That's right!"
After the two allies started the confrontation, the Thunderstorm King recovered as well, managing to sit up straight and croak:
"The collective disappearance of six kings is too big of a deal to cover up, even for you! You know as well as we do the Clearing Bureau's capabilities; even if you silence everyone and destroy the bodies, they'll still find out!"
"..."
Wait a minute... I just ca by to see who was planning to deal with , then go back and figure out a way to hit you where it hurts. How did you guys get to the point of covering up the traces already?
Finding himself speechless at the kings' overly proactive defense, Leon paused to think for a mont, then nodded to the panicked group and decided to leave:
"I originally wanted to talk things over and see if we could resolve our misunderstandings, but since I'm not very welco here, I won't bother you any longer... Veronica, we... huh?"
Just as Leon was about to leave the chamber with Veronica to discuss how to deal with the opposing faction, he felt sothing tugging at his pants leg.
When Leon looked down in confusion, he saw the "fainted" rmaid holding her breath and keeping her eyes closed in a pretend faint, yet tightly clutching his pants leg with her right hand.
"?"
Instinctively raising his leg and pulling twice, he found that not only couldn't he free his pants leg, but he had also dragged the "unconscious" rmaid a considerable way across the floor. Leon couldn't help but express his exasperation:
"What are you doing?"
"..."
"Let go! Aren't you already awake?"
No! I'm not awake! I'm still fainted!
Even though her act of fainting had been exposed by Leon, the rmaid lying on the floor didn't get up. Instead, she closed her eyes even tighter.
After ascending the throne, she had made a point to travel overnight to avoid the Food God but accidentally ran into his vehicle, nearly drowning in the cargo hold amidst strong liquor.
After the Food God rescued her from the cargo hold, she whimsically took him to an anti-Food God eting, where she happily discussed plans against him right in front of him, even inadvertently selling out her allies and closest friends...
Oh dear!
Recalling her actions and imagining the expressions of the other kings at the mont, the rmaid's turbulent Heart Lake completely shattered.
Good news, the Food God wasn't as terrifying as the legends made him out to be, nor did he have a bloodthirsty habit of killing other races on sight. His usual deanor was quite gentle, occasionally smiling warmly, making him seem rather approachable.
Bad news, she hadn't recognized him and had brought him into the Anti-Traveling Thrush Alliance, selling out all of her allies in one go and disgracing the entire Thousand Sails Mariti Country on the international stage... Ugh!
Truthfully... I don't want to live anymore.
Unable to face the harsh reality and ashad of her own stupidity, the rmaid was montarily struck with amnesia of her fear of the Food God due to overwhelming embarrassnt.
With her brain completely shut down, the only response she could think of was to cling to the pants leg tightly, hoping to be dragged out of the chamber like a salted fish and run all the way to the sea to jump in, never to co ashore again!
Please! Just drag away! Don't leave here! Or take and eat if you must! Just don't leave here... Waaa! I can't stand it anymore!
"Leon, Her Majesty Wendy must have had a tough ti rushing these past few days, and her emotions got too intense just now, leading to a temporary loss of control over her body."
Reading the rmaid's thoughts from her tightly shut eyes, Queen Veronica, who had taken a liking to her, offered an excuse and spoke to Leon with a suppressed laugh:
"Coincidentally, the doctor on our ship specializes in treating such symptoms of stiffness. Why don't we take her back and have the ship's doctor check her out?"
Honestly, she's been planning against us, and you're still giving her a way out?
Feeling the sudden relaxation of the grip on his pants leg after Veronica's words, Leon clicked his tongue exasperatedly, withdrew his pants leg, and said with slight disdain:
"I don't think that's necessary, is it? She's clearly... still grabbing? Aren't you unable to control your body?"
Just grabbing! Just grabbing!
In less than five minutes, having lost all possible face in this lifeti, even borrowing from the next, the rmaid, unable to face reality, decided to break down completely, clutching Leon's pants leg under the complex stares of the kings without letting go.
As long as I don't open my eyes, I'm still fainted!
Besides! You're only wearing a single pair of pants, if you dare, just take them off and leave here while you walk out stark naked!
"Let's just take her along."
Watching the rmaid, teeth gritted, holding onto Leon's pants leg and being dragged over a ter without letting go, Veronica, amused by the absurdity, shook her head with a laugh, reached out to help the so-called "fainted" salted fish up.
Strangely enough, as soon as Veronica held her arm, the rmaid's grip, tighter than a clamp, loosened imdiately, and her body, stiffer than any salted fish, was pulled up, leaning naturally against Veronica as she was easily led out of the eting room.
After the two departed with the salted fish, the silence in the eting room, akin to a graveyard, was eventually broken by the hoarse voice of the Thunderstorm King.
"Since the Food God already knows, should we... continue?"
"Of course, we continue!"
The King of Sea Cliff took a deep breath and shouted angrily:
"Are you willing to just surrender and leave everything to the Food God?"
"Rightly said..."
When he finished, the King of Kidney Deficiency opposite him coughed weakly and said:
"Even if the Thousand Sails Mariti Country withdraws, we're still five kingdoms strong; it's not necessarily a loss!"
"I... I'd like to try again too..."
"How about... giving it a shot? I feel like the Food God might not hit us too hard?"
"Since you all feel that way..."
After hearing everyone's opinions, the Thunderstorm King stayed silent for a mont, then gritted his teeth and decided:
"We'll... change our pants first, and then continue!"
