A disaster unprecedented in history might occur!
Almost simultaneously thinking of this terrifying result, several board mbers couldn't help but take a deep breath, and their expressions turned grim.
The more burdens one carries, the less likely one is to make radical decisions. Those board mbers who bear the future of the entire community are precisely the individuals with the heaviest "burdens."
Even knowing that going all out is the right choice, once thinking about the potential consequences of their decisions, one might unconsciously step back and strive to find a less favorable but sufficiently safe outco.
Thus, even though Leon went alone into the Realm of the Dead, killed the frequently provocative Overlords of the Dead Realm, and rescued all captured Cleaners, such actions were undeniably encouraging. Yet, several board mbers still found it challenging to voice their approval.
After all, while gaining the upper hand temporarily feels satisfying, the "territories" left empty by the fleeing Overlords of the Dead Realm require manpower from the Zodiac Bureau to "fill."
If the worst-case scenario arises, where all conscious Overlords of the Dead Realm have fled, fourteen True God level Cleaners would need to voluntarily leave the living world and enter the Realm of the Dead to completely occupy their vacant territories.
For the Zodiac Bureau, which already struggles with an extre shortage of manpower above the True God level, this kind of prolonged personnel shift is undoubtedly quite fatal…
"Actually... everyone doesn't need to be too pessimistic."
Looking at the board mbers who beca speechless and collectively displayed worry on their faces, Leon tentatively spoke:
"I actually have a way that should perfectly solve the issue of the lingering dead."
"?"
Upon hearing Leon's words, the board mbers inside and outside the mirror simultaneously looked over and then looked at each other, finding that their expressions showed evident uncertainty.
They weren't doubting Leon's ability to achieve it; the newly appointed Aquarius Director isn't one to make empty promises. Besides, other board mbers have already verified his problem-solving abilities through previous near-impossible tasks.
What they are worried about now is whether this Aquarius Director, who is as capable of solving issues as he is of causing them, might bring about even more fatal new problems after successfully solving the current one.
"Rest assured, this ti it's really a good thod."
Leon, sowhat aware of how the other board mbers perceive him, didn't get angry at their mutual glances. Instead, he looked earnestly at Taurus and spoke sincerely:
"Does Your Excellency Taurus have any living demons? Or any other beings with souls?"
Demons?
Facing Leon's sudden request, Taurus hesitated for a mont before nodding and then gestured towards the direction of the forge.
Amidst hysterical howls, two blood-red demons covered in scales quickly crawled out from an idle forge, moving uncontrollably towards Leon.
"Would these two Blood Bramble Demons do?"
Taurus said slightly apologetically:
"To process the materials you brought back from the Witch Kingdom... I have moved almost everything from my forge, leaving only these two. If they don't work, I will ask Cancer Director to help you get so."
"Enough, enough."
Leon briskly pulled out The Cutting Silver Dagger, slashed it decisively to kill the two nacing demons, and caught their souls as they separated from their bodies before the abyss could capture them. He then kicked the right demon hard in the rear.
Given that it was his first ti using the "I Excel at Superhuman" badge, and additionally "super" wasn't human but demon, Leon wasn't sure of the outco, so he intentionally applied extra force, stamping a dusty gray shoe print on the right rear of the demon.
Soon, the "Superhuman" badge in the slot flickered lightly, and the demon's soul, forcibly defined as a dead being by the "Guardian of Death," suddenly knelt on the ground, roaring angrily, turned sharply, and monstrously shouted:
"Damn humans! You... you are welco."
In the dumbfounded gaze of several board mbers, this Blood Bramble Demon, hailed for blood courage and fury, origins from the fiercest "Rage Hell," the red tint in its eyes faded instantly, becoming clear.
More incomprehensibly, its fierce face suddenly softened, and the mouth corner torn by years of screaming lifted in an eerie yet gentle arc, its voice... still terribly grating, sounding:
"Thank you, dying by the hands of such great humans; my life bears no regrets."
"???"
Watching the demon post-Leon kick, seemingly brainwashed by so strange anomaly, turning calm and harmonious, the Sagittarius Director on the opposite end of the mirror couldn't help but widen his eyes, unbelievingly reminding:
"That's it? You are from the batch of demons regurgitated by Cancer last ti, detained for decades, barely out and got eliminated by us. Aren't there any grudges?"
"Why hold grudges?"
The demon blinked its now clear six pairs of eyes and replied puzzled,:
"Being captured was a matter when I was alive; now, I'm dead, why bother you with these things?"
"..."
"Moreover, my clan and I attempted several invasions into the living world, igniting more than one war, causing many human deaths, even killing a Cleaner myself.
So, from this perspective, I owe you humans; you ought to treat more cruelly to offset the damage I caused you."
"..."
You're... quite reasonable?
Watching this Blood Bramble Demon peacefully suggesting cruelty upon itself, after moving his lips, the Sagittarius Director turned to Leon, his expression trying hard to maintain while a chill couldn't help but arise within.
Given the Blood Bramble Demon's birth in perpetual rage, ceaseless anger, and combat is their essence. These deeply rooted soul traits, remarkably whitewashed post-Leon's kick, such capability to forcibly twist a soul's will is truly...
"This ability ca post-destroying Zhanhuai Mountain and only works on the dead."
Knowing Sagittarius Director's skeptical nature well, upon noticing his complex gaze, Leon swiftly explained and further added:
"Not only for direct kicks, even the footprint I leave can dissipate a deceased's heart's obsession; the longer they touch it, the faster these obsessions vanish."
Even footprints?!
Listening, the board mbers couldn't help but exchange glances; then Taurus, eyes sparkling with joy, spoke:
"Leon! How long can this ability last?"
"Should be very, very long."
Leon contemplated and uncertainly replied:
"As long as my footprint remains unbroken, it might continue indefinitely."
Always?!
Upon hearing, board mbers couldn't help but rejoice, while Sagittarius Director located in the Realm of the Dead, looking at the blocked souls on the No Return Path couldn't contain the excitent, clenching his fists.
Doesn't that imply, by reconnecting the severed No Return Path, having Leon stamp along it, all Overlords in the Realm of the Dead can be replaced?!!!
