The engagent was set for the fourth of next month.

That was in half a month.

When Mia Grant heard the date, she felt like her world was ending.

"According to our current intel, the one engaged to you, Host, should be Felix Sinclair."

’Should be?’ What do you an, ’should be’?

"Because it seems Ian Sinclair doesn’t agree to this marriage and is still fighting with his family about it."

"..."

The system explained that a lot had happened in Jynsia in the two days she’d been in Portia.

The Sinclair Family had sohow caught wind of sothing. That very night, Felix Sinclair’s parents called him into the study.

His parents exchanged a look, desperately signaling for the other to be the one to speak.

In the end, Mrs. Sinclair had no choice but to break the silence, asking with a smile, "Our Felix seems a bit different lately."

Felix Sinclair looked up and asked impassively, "Is that so?"

"Of course!" Mrs. Sinclair chuckled, pinching his cheek. "Look at this little face. You seem so much more spirited than usual. Could it be... you’re in love?"

"..."

"AHEM, AHEM." Mr. Sinclair coughed loudly and shot his wife a look. ’Why are you being so blunt!’

’We agreed to be more subtle, to ease into it!’

Mrs. Sinclair slapped her forehead. She’d gotten too excited and forgotten.

Felix Sinclair’s gaze shifted back and forth between his parents before he finally said, "There’s nothing of the sort."

"Oh, co on. If you’re dating soone, just say so. Your mother and I aren’t old-fashioned. Besides, you’re an adult now..."

Mr. Sinclair added, "We’re just concerned, that’s all. There’s no other aning. Being in love is a good thing; it can add so spice to life."

Their eldest son had a quiet and rigid personality, with his mind and heart set on nothing but his studies... Before, they never thought there was anything wrong with that.

It was certainly better than their younger son, who loved to fool around, skip class, and always ca in last.

But ever since their eldest son had suddenly self-hard...

...they had realized the severity of the problem.

So now, they were wholeheartedly in favor of their eldest son falling in love.

"Just tell us! Forget dating, even if you secretly got your marriage license, Mom and Dad wouldn’t bla you!"

"Our family’s household registration book is in the safe. The combination is..."

Felix Sinclair lowered his eyes and cut them off quietly, "I’m not dating anyone."

The sa words as before.

Mrs. Sinclair said reproachfully, "Stop hiding it. Mrs. Cole went to clean your apartnt yesterday and in your closet... ahem, she found a girl’s clothes."

"You brought soone ho and you’re still saying you’re not dating!"

"..." A few images flashed through Felix Sinclair’s mind, and a ripple of emotion showed in his eyes.

Seeing his reaction, his parents knew they hadn’t guessed wrong!

"Which family is the girl from? A classmate? An old friend? Co on, introduce us."

Felix Sinclair took a deep breath. "It’s... not convenient. Mom, please don’t ask."

Since he wouldn’t say, his parents investigated on their own.

And their investigation led them straight to Mia Grant.

The Sinclair elders were a bit surprised by this outco. Clearly, Mia Grant was not their ideal choice for the eldest grandson’s wife.

But Mrs. Sinclair overruled all objections. "I think this young lady is wonderful."

"We’ve t her a few tis before. She’s so well-behaved. The rumors outside are so exaggerated. How bad can a teenage girl be? She’s pretty, fair-skinned, and very cute."

"Perhaps it’s not her," Mr. Sinclair said, trying to diate.

"How could it not be!" Mrs. Sinclair slamd the table. "Otherwise, why would Felix be so hesitant and afraid to tell us!"

"Felix has been obedient since he was a child and has never kept secrets from us, you know that!"

"He must be afraid we’ll disapprove, that’s why he won’t say."

"Anyway, it’s rare for Felix to finally show interest in soone. Now that he has soone he likes, I can’t let him be heartbroken."

"I could never do sothing like break up a happy couple. That’s just not sothing a decent person does!"

The Sinclair elders: "..."

After hearing the system’s description, Mia Grant couldn’t control her expression, and the corner of her mouth twitched violently.

After a long mont, she finally managed to squeeze out, "Mrs. Sinclair is quite a character, isn’t she?"

The system explained that Mrs. Sinclair had always held a high status in the Sinclair Family. In the early years, given the power of her maiden family, the Sinclairs were considered to have married up.

The Sinclair elders never treated Mrs. Sinclair as a daughter-in-law, but as a daughter of their own.

When she spoke, basically no one would object.

Mrs. Sinclair was famously impetuous. After making her decision, she stord over to the Grant Family residence at the first opportunity and set the engagent date right then and there.

"My head hurts." Mia Grant fell back onto her bed, rubbing the bridge of her nose forcefully.

’Actually, judging from the system’s description, the Sinclair family seems pretty easy to get along with, at least better than the Donovan Family or the Keller Family.’

’But I have no intention of getting engaged.’

’More importantly, the ’blackening values’ of these ancestors have finally stabilized recently. Although they haven’t dropped much, they haven’t shown any signs of increasing either.’

She didn’t dare to imagine the scene if she really got engaged to Felix Sinclair and the other male leads found out... *Hiss*.

Suddenly, she rembered sothing.

"You just said Ian Sinclair doesn’t agree? Ian knows?"

"Yes. Felix Sinclair didn’t return to the Sinclair family’s main residence yesterday, so he doesn’t know the news yet."

’Then Ian Sinclair could be a way out.’

She pulled out her phone and sent Ian Sinclair a ssage.

There was no reply for a long ti.

The system reminded her: "He’s been grounded."

Mia Grant froze. "Why? Just because he doesn’t approve? That can’t be it."

"It wouldn’t be, if it were just verbal disapproval. He threatened to wreck your engagent party."

Mia Grant’s eyelid twitched heavily. She exited the chat window and found Felix Sinclair.

Deliberating, she typed out a ssage: [Are you there?]

A few seconds later, a reply ca back: [I’m here.]

Felix Sinclair seed very surprised that she had contacted him first. The status indicator at the top of the chat kept flashing, constantly switching to [The other person is typing...].

After a long ti, he deleted everything he had written and asked: [Are you feeling better?]

He had gone to the hospital to see her, only to be told she had been transferred to the Hughes Family’s hospital.

Kitty: [I’ve already been discharged. Just got back to my dorm.]

Kitty: [Um... are you free? I need to talk to you about sothing. It would be best to et in person; it’s hard to explain in just a few words.]

Felix Sinclair shot to his feet.

Dixon, who was playing a video ga, was startled by the screeching sound of the chair moving, and his hand trembled.

He let out a wail, and when he turned to see it was Felix Sinclair, he asked in confusion, "What’s wrong?"

"Sorry." Felix Sinclair grabbed his keys and phone from the desk, snatched his jacket from the side, and said, "I have to go out for sothing."

"Then co back early. Don’t forget the club dinner. We’re going together."

Felix Sinclair paused and looked back at Dixon. "Can you make my apologies? I have sothing on tonight."

"No way!" Dixon said, surprised. "Did you forget what Sutton said? You’ve already bailed on him a few tis. If you bail again, he’s really going to co after you."

"..."

Felix Sinclair frowned.

A look of dawning comprehension crossed Dixon’s face. "Ohhh, the little missus is looking for you, huh?"

"What’s the big deal? You’ve got to eat anyway, so why not bring her along?"

"Sutton said we can bring partners this ti."

"It’s a sha Ian Sinclair isn’t here. Otherwise, he’d get to et this mysterious future sister-in-law of his."

"..."
