Now reading: Chapter 29 - 27: To Dig Up Mia Grant’s Grave from I Faked My Death—Now I Have to Tame the Crazy Men I Left Behind, a Romance novel by Nanli Rogue.

Kian Keller’s hand paused on his Buddha Beads.

It wasn’t because he saw the caller ID on the phone.

From this distance, he couldn’t have seen it even with the best eyesight.

It was because of what Silas Grant had said.

That "another" was a nice touch.

Silas Grant looked down at him, extrely satisfied with the expression on his face.

Unlike this imposter fiancé, Kian Keller, Mia Grant had been engaged long before. In other words, she’d always had a legitimate fiancé.

’That guy had been hogging the title of Mia Grant’s fiancé for so long. Just thinking about it was infuriating.’

Fortunately for Silas, while the existence of this other fiancé was galling, he wasn’t a real threat—not compared to Kian Keller.

So, he was the perfect tool to get under Kian Keller’s skin.

After all, Kian Keller seed to care a great deal about his status as "fiancé."

’It takes a villain to wear down a villain, after all.’

The call connected.

Silas Grant thoughtfully put the call on speaker.

The person on the other end spoke quickly, calling him, "Silas."

Silas Grant asked, "Aren’t you on vacation abroad? What gives you the ti to call ?"

"What, can’t I call because I miss you? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you and Ethan. I even dread about you two last night."

"Dread about us?" Silas Grant raised an eyebrow, glancing at the other person in question in the grand hall.

On the other end of the line, the man chuckled. "Yeah. And it wasn’t just you two. Mia Grant was there, too."

"..."

Downstairs, Kian Keller’s gaze darkened as he stared intently at the phone in Silas Grant’s hand.

On the surface, he appeared perfectly calm.

Silas Grant didn’t mind fanning the flas. "How rare. I’m surprised you still rember Mia."

"She was my fiancée, after all. It’s only normal to dream about her, right?"

"I even dread she spoke to . My fault, really. I was too busy a few days ago to make it back for her funeral... You think she misses ?"

His flippant, devil-may-care tone was just asking for a punch, and it successfully shattered Kian Keller’s composure.

It was a vicious glare that no one would have expected to see from him.

With his aloof, almost ethereal disposition and years of devotion to gods and Buddha, how could he possibly have such a look in his eyes?

Silas Grant hadn’t seen Kian Keller like this in a long ti. He couldn’t help but sneer inwardly.

"Well, you can go see her when you get back. I’ll send you the address of the cetery."

"Sure," the person on the other end agreed, then paused before asking, "What’s the deal with Ethan? I heard he brought so woman to Mia Grant’s funeral?"

"He did."

"Who was she?"

"Not entirely sure." Silas Grant’s words were for the man on the phone, but his eyes remained fixed on Kian downstairs. "He claims she’s his fiancée."

"PFFT—AHAHAHAHAHA..."

The mont he finished speaking, a burst of laughter erupted from the receiver, echoing clearly through the vast, empty hall.

The man laughed for a long ti, his voice trembling. "Hold on, the guy’s practically a monk. Where the hell would he get a fiancée?"

"Are ’monks’ allowed to date now? Or is he doing it in secret? Would Buddha forgive him for that? Hahahahaha."

The amusent in Silas Grant’s eyes deepened. "He just suddenly has a fiancée. I’ve never t her."

"She’s probably fake."

Silas Grant said, "Perhaps she’s part of a marriage alliance."

"Impossible. With his personality, there’s no way he’d bring a marriage-alliance partner to an event like that."

"Then it must be true love." Coming from Silas Grant, the words were tinged with a strange sourness.

’True love.’

’How interesting.’

"Tsk. A guy like him finds true love? What girl would be blind enough to get with him?"

Once he’d had his laugh, the man’s tone turned slightly more serious.

"Besides, I didn’t hear anything about him seeing a woman before I left. A guy like him isn’t going to find ’true love’ in just two months. Unless... he stole her from soone else."

"..."

The air went still.

The atmosphere turned strange.

The three of them were all inextricably linked to the topic, yet they acted like bystanders.

Silas Grant stared at Kian Keller’s face. ’Yep, he definitely looks worse.’

Even the man on the phone sensed the shift in atmosphere. "Silas?"

’Why isn’t he saying anything?’

Silas Grant raised an eyebrow, replying to his friend’s previous comnt. "Perhaps."

’Stole her from soone else?’

’Perhaps.’

From a certain point of view, Kian Keller really had stolen soone else’s "fiancée."

"Huh?" The man knew Silas Grant; he wouldn’t normally joke about sothing like this.

For him to give that answer, he must have heard so rumors...

"No way. A man as holier-than-thou as Kian Keller actually beca the other man?"

The man’s playful tone vanished, and he frowned.

"You should ask him yourself when you get back." Silas Grant didn’t elaborate, deliberately leaving him hanging.

「After the call ended, on a certain island.」

The man, shirt unbuttoned to reveal a muscular chest, leaned against the headboard. He twirled his phone in his hand, then lifted his gaze to casually glance at the subordinate standing nearby. "How about... we head back."

"You want to return to Jynsia now, sir?" the subordinate asked hesitantly. "But your second uncle..."

Toying with his phone, the man sneered. "Didn’t you hear? I’ve only been gone two months, and the whole landscape of Jynsia has changed. Kian Keller has stooped to being the other man, and you think I can’t go back?"

"I’m just curious how a guy who’s so damn pretentious could actually do sothing like steal another man’s woman."

"I’ve got to go back and see if he’s been chugging nuclear wastewater recently. Sothing’s clearly gone wrong with his brain."

And don’t mistake him for a good person.

He wasn’t worried about his friend in the slightest. He was going back for the drama, and to offer a healthy dose of friendly mockery.

He and Kian Keller had grown up together, and their families were longti allies. But he’d never been able to stand Kian, finding him far too pretentious—even more uptight than that psycho, Silas Grant.

Now that he finally had so dirt on Kian Keller, of course he was going back.

’Watching the drama unfold is always best from a front-row seat.’

"By the way, Young Master, we also found so information regarding Mr. Keller. It’s related to the Grant Family."

"Let’s hear it."

"The Keller and Grant Families are considering a marriage alliance."

"Kian Keller and Serena Grant? Impossible." The man dismissed it as a rumor without a second thought.

"We thought it was impossible too. After all, you’re the one engaged to the Grant family’s daughter. Mr. Keller could steal from anyone, but he wouldn’t dare steal from you. However, the information we received is confird to be accurate."

The man’s expression turned serious. "How many tis do I have to say it? My engagent is with that little brat Mia Grant. Not Serena Grant."

"The original agreent only stipulated it was with ’the daughter of the Grant Family,’ it didn’t specify which one. Before, it was with Miss Mia Grant. But now Miss Serena Grant is the true daughter, and Miss Mia Grant is... gone. Logically speaking, your engagent should now..."

"Get out."

"..."

The subordinate bowed slightly and turned to leave.

"Wait. Co back."

The man stopped him. "What about the people I told you to find?"

At this, the subordinate looked like he wanted to say sothing but was hesitating.

"Spit it out."

The subordinate steeled himself. "Sir... you’re asking people to dig up Miss Mia Grant’s grave. That’s... not exactly ethical. No one dares to take the job."
