Now reading: Chapter 43 - 41: Sister-in-law, Open the Door, I’m My Brothe from I Faked My Death—Now I Have to Tame the Crazy Men I Left Behind, a Romance novel by Nanli Rogue.

Mia Grant’s lips parted as she tried to argue, but her mind couldn’t help but picture the scene he described.

She’d vaguely heard that the Sinclair family was traditional, with several generations always living under one roof.

The Sinclair family owned a manor in Jynsia, which was also their ancestral ho.

If she and Felix Sinclair really took things to the next level, she would have to move in with him at the Sinclair estate. That ant she would be living with Ian Sinclair, day in and day out.

Knowing Ian Sinclair’s personality, he was completely unburdened by morals. He was absolutely capable of doing exactly what he’d described.

Whenever Felix Sinclair wasn’t ho, he could sneak upstairs in the dead of night and knock on her door. "Sister-in-law, open up. It’s your husband."

If Felix Sinclair ca ho in the middle of the night and found them, Ian probably wouldn’t even panic.

He’d just sit up slowly, give a brazen yawn, and say, "What’s all the yelling for? I’m getting out of her bed now, aren’t I?"

Felix Sinclair had fainted from anger over a single sentence from her today. Mia Grant didn’t dare imagine how he would react if this scenario were real.

It would most likely devolve into a scene of brother turning on brother.

A sharp sting on her lips snapped Mia Grant back to reality.

"What are you so lost in thought about, sister-in-law?"

The young man dipped his head to peck her lips, continuing to run his smart mouth. "Thinking about what I just said? How was it? Exciting, right?"

"I live right downstairs from my brother. So when he’s not around, just stomp on the floor. I’ll hear it and co on up..."

Before Ian Sinclair could finish, he saw Mia Grant’s lips curve into a smile.

Her eyes crinkled with the force of her smile, which was bathed in sunlight. They were so close he could even see the fine, downy hair on her face.

Ian Sinclair was so captivated by her sudden smile that his voice died in his throat. His mind went blank. He forgot where he was, and he couldn’t rember what he’d been about to say.

’Get lost!’ Mia Grant gathered all her strength and shoved him hard!

"What the—" Ian Sinclair’s eyes widened. He tried to steady himself, but it was too late.

A dark figure shot out from behind the curtains, crashing straight into the lecturer’s podium.

The hand of the technician fixing the equipnt jerked, and his pliers dropped onto the foot of the stunned professor standing beside him.

A series of yelps and cries erupted from beyond the curtain.

Hiding behind the curtain, Mia Grant let out a cold laugh. ’Serves you right, you little brat!’

’He obviously can’t stand the idea of being with Felix Sinclair, but he just has to keep calling ’sister-in-law’ over and over, doesn’t he?’

’Is he serious? Does he really think I’m just entertainnt for him?’

Outside the curtain, the professor adjusted his glasses, stared at Ian Sinclair for a few seconds, and stamred, "Young man, where... where did you co from?"

’Just a mont ago, we were all focused on calibrating the equipnt. Where on earth did this person just spring from?’

The technician beside him glanced up at the ceiling. ’No holes up there.’

The two of them looked toward the window in unison.

A transom window above the large panes was cracked open, and the nearby curtain billowed in the breeze. It all looked perfectly normal.

For a fleeting, malicious mont, Ian Sinclair thought, ’To hell with it, let them find Mia Grant too.’

’That way, it wouldn’t be long before everyone knew he and Mia Grant were a thing.’

’From now on, their nas would be forever linked on campus.’

’And his brother, Felix Sinclair... would just have to be the other man.’

Pressing his tongue hard against a canine tooth, Ian Sinclair resisted the urge. In the end, he took a step to the side, blocking their view.

"I... uh, I fell asleep over by the window during the last class. Just woke up. Is class over? My apologies, Professor."

’Getting caught would be great, of course.’

’But then again, while it would be great for him, it wouldn’t be for Mia Grant.’

’A guy and a girl, all alone in a classroom, acting suspiciously...’

’It would really get people’s imaginations running wild.’

’He might be shaless and unconstrained by society’s expectations, always doing as he pleased.’

’But Mia Grant wasn’t like that.’

’Her personality was different from his. She was proud and cared deeply about what other people thought.’

’Besides all that, she was a girl.’

’Jynsia U is one of the top universities in the country, and its students were all top achievers who had fought tooth and nail to get in.’

’In the future, they would beco elites in their respective fields.’

’But that didn’t guarantee they were all decent people.’

’A person’s character can’t be judged by their grades or future career.’

’There are scumbags everywhere. And besides, who doesn’t love a bit of gossip? Well, except for his brother.’

’So, if rumors started to spread...’

’As a guy, he didn’t care if so salacious rumors were spread about him. But in these situations, it’s always the girl who suffers.’

’Behind closed doors, no matter how much of a smartass he was to Mia Grant, it was just their own brand of flirting.’

’It didn’t an he’d actually disregard her feelings and do sothing truly out of line.’

’His brother had lectured him once and said sothing that actually made a lot of sense.’

’His brother had said, "If you can’t even show a girl the most basic respect, then stay the hell away from her."’

——

Mia Grant was growing drowsy behind the curtain. She didn’t know how much ti had passed before it finally went quiet outside.

A mont later, the curtain in front of her was yanked open with a SWISH.

Mia Grant instantly straightened up and saw Ian Sinclair holding out a hand to her. "What are you spacing out for? Let’s go. People are coming for the next class."

After escaping the classroom, Mia realized it was ti for her own class to start.

"Why are you following ?"

"To go to class."

"..."

"You should head back. We can talk later if there’s sothing."

"Nope." He was as clingy as a puppy.

Taking a deep breath, Mia Grant tried to reason with him. "My roommate asked you for your WeChat before. She has a crush on you."

The puppy tilted his head, confused. "So?"

"...So, if you co to class with , she’ll be there. It’ll be... so awkward."

The puppy pondered this, trying to understand.

He frowned.

Then gave a reluctant nod.

Seeing this, Mia Grant breathed a sigh of relief. It was all just an excuse; she simply needed so private space to catch up on the gossip.

’She had no idea what was happening on the forums right now.’

"I’m off, then. Bye~"

"Wait." Ian Sinclair stopped her.

She thought he had changed his mind, but when she turned, she saw him holding out his phone. "Add on WeChat."

Mia Grant had no objection.

The mont she accepted the friend request, a ssage popped up in their chat.

Ian Sinclair: [I’ve started location sharing]

"?" Mia Grant looked up at him. "What are you doing?"

The puppy replied without batting an eye, "Supervising your studies."

"..."

’Is this supervising? This is straight-up surveillance!’

’She had a feeling that if she didn’t head to her classroom right away, Ian Sinclair would co hunt her down.’

’How was this any different from Kian Keller putting a tracker on her phone?’

’The only difference was that Kian Keller did it secretly, while Ian Sinclair was "coercing" her out in the open.’

"You’re not going to join? Fine, then I’ll just go to class with you," the puppy said with a wicked grin.

"Fine, fine, fine." Mia Grant’s eyelid twitched violently as she joined the location share.

The puppy smiled, satisfied, and waved a paw at her. "Go on to class, sis—"

Under Mia Grant’s death glare, the puppy swallowed the rest of "sister-in-law" and finished, "...good student."

Mia Grant slipped into the classroom just as the bell rang. She was imdiately surrounded by her roommates. "Kitty, did you see the forums? Serena Grant, she..."

Mia Grant shushed them. "I know, she just slapped ."

Her roommate said, "No, not that! Her fiancé is here!"
