Sisha awoke from her daze.
The creature before her eyes was a fishman with two bulging eyeballs. Sisha was briefly disoriented, but quickly understood what had happened.
Sisha was a Tier 8 Observer.
The Fishman Sage spoke softly: "Speak."
"Regarding the exploration of the Nest of Evil—how did it go?"
Its gaze also swept around the room.
Truth be told...
It was also aware that Kanzaki Rei wouldn’t simply leave like that.
However, it didn’t actually intend to hide things from Kanzaki Rei either.
This was just a formality.
What Sisha needed to report was core intelligence, and Kanzaki Rei’s identity was that of a newcor. Although the Expeditionary Force had few mbers, and those who had reached Tier 8 were all powerful, which ant fewer idiots than usual—
There were still plenty of differing opinions and perspectives.
And Kanzaki Rei’s origins were mysterious.
Allowing Kanzaki Rei to know certain core secrets had already caused discontent. After all, no one could provide evidence that Kanzaki Rei was definitely aligned with their shared interests.
If Kanzaki Rei defected, with all the intelligence he possessed, he would be an enormous threat.
Although the Fishman Sage itself leaned toward trusting Kanzaki Rei,
Believing that the greatest hope of turning the tide rested largely on Kanzaki Rei—others might not see it that way.
Having Kanzaki Rei step aside had thus beco a strategic gesture.
Shumi and Eliosa were also persuaded to leave. In the end, only the four people Kanzaki Rei had rescued remained in the room.
Sisha knew she was supposed to report intelligence, not minor grievances.
"We did indeed enter the depths of the Nest of Evil. Using Moi’s talent, not a single magic beast detected our presence along the way."
"And along that path, we witnessed..."
"A巢穴 struggle."
The Fishman Sage: "A巢穴 struggle?"
"Yes..."
"We saw the entrance to the Nest of Aberration open from inside the Nest of Evil. Countless soul-type magic beasts from the Nest of Evil were being sucked into the Nest of Aberration."
"The passage gaped wide open."
"The edges of the passage stained the sky of the Nest of Evil. The sky underwent a rotting,溃烂-like aberration, and the various evil souls throughout the entire Nest of Evil also began to mutate alongside it."
"These magic beasts—new flesh and blood grew wildly from their very souls."
"The characteristic types of these magic beasts... they no longer resembled magic beasts of the Nest of Evil. They beca more like magic beasts of the Nest of Aberration."
As Sisha spoke, she was also tidying her attire.
Finally, she put on a pair of round-lens glasses, taking on the appearance of a studious researcher.
If soone didn’t know better, they would never guess she was a Tier 8 Observer.
"After discussion, we realized this event was exceptional. If we missed this opportunity, we might lose critical intelligence."
"So after filing a report, we took action imdiately."
The Fishman Sage: "We never received your report. Only your distress signal."
Sisha calmly pushed up her glasses and said: "The report must have been intercepted."
"If not for that Kanzaki Rei rescuing you, you would have already died."
Sisha’s perception swept around the area.
Yet she detected no sign of Kanzaki Rei.
She was a Tier 8 Observer. Almost all Tier 8-level abilities like invisibility, presence concealnt, existence erasure—none of them worked on her.
Especially at such close range.
"This ’Kanzaki Rei’ you ntioned—who is he?"
The Fishman Sage: "You haven’t t him yet?"
Sisha shook her head slightly.
In her mory, the last thing she experienced was being bound beneath a tree by the vines of a special giant tree, wrapped up like a spider cocooning its prey.
Shortly after,
She had felt a divine presence sweeping over her like a tidal wave.
She felt as though her skin and flesh no longer belonged to her, on the verge of separating on their own at any mont.
Then—
She had completely lost consciousness.
The next ti she woke up, she was directly here.
But in truth, she also didn’t rember that Kanzaki Rei had interrogated her, during the brief ti inside his Solo World.
After asking her a few key questions, Kanzaki Rei had deleted all mories of eting him.
"Never mind... it’s fine. Continue."
"You entered the Nest of Aberration. Then what?"
At this, Sisha’s expression beca completely serious.
With extre earnestness, she replied: "Sage sir, I saw... the Nest Lord."
"The very first mont we stepped through the passage, I saw a being whose body stretched endlessly, as if the mountains, rivers, and all things in existence were it."
"I cannot describe its appearance."
"It was like looking out a window at any random landscape—wherever your eyes could see, that was it."
"Not just physical matter. Even the air. Even the elents. All of it was it."
"The instant I set foot on that land, I realized this was absolutely a divine-level existence. A complete god..."
"A god appearing within a巢穴—who else could it be?"
"This must be the Nest Lord of the Nest of Aberration."
"And what it was doing was... ’devouring’ a corpse."
"Visually, it didn’t actually look like that. Yet I feel there is no better word to describe that scene than ’devouring.’"
"I saw overwhelming evil energy and souls collapsing into every single point in space."
"The entire world was crying out with agonized, miserable roars. Just hearing those roars made blood and tears flow from us unbidden—blood seeped from our seven orifices."
"Those were divine wails."
"But even those wails, those anguished howls—the world itself absorbed them. All those heartbreaking sounds also beca part of that heaven and earth."
"I could feel it. A divine being was consuming another divine being."
"One Nest Lord was devouring another."
"And the one being devoured... was the Nest Lord of the Nest of Evil."
Sisha described this calmly.
Scenes of what she had witnessed also surfaced in the Fishman Sage’s mind.
And Kanzaki Rei, looking into the Fishman Sage’s consciousness, likewise saw those images flashing through it.
"You’re saying the Nest Lord of the Nest of Evil has already been killed."
Sisha: "I cannot confirm it was the Nest of Evil."
Then she added: "But it most likely was."
The Nest Lord.
Dead?
"After that, I felt an imnsely vast perception settle upon us. The next ti we reappeared—"
Sisha gazed toward an empty, vacant area.
She didn’t say anything more, but her eyes said it all.
After that, they had simply vanished.
Sisha: "As for the distress signal—we never sent one."
"I believe soone..."
A flicker of dread passed through Sisha’s mind.
She didn’t dare continue. Her perception continued sweeping restlessly in all directions. Kanzaki Rei could sense it—she was looking for him.
The Fishman Sage had sent Kanzaki Rei away.
There was probably an additional reason: sensing so kind of暗示 from Sisha.
But...
The Nest Lord of the Nest of Evil—killed quietly, without a single sound.
No commotion at all.
Truly mysterious.
Yet when you put it all together, it wasn’t without reason that large numbers of the Nest of Evil had vanished while the Nest of Aberration had beco visible everywhere.
Sisha then added many more details to the Fishman Sage.
All of them were exploration details from within the Nest of Evil.
But compared to the death of the Nest Lord, these details seed rather insignificant.
After the briefing was complete, the Fishman Sage offered a few words of care.
Then told them to go rest properly.
After they had left, the Fishman Sage let out a soft sigh.
"Co out. I know you’ve been here the whole ti."
