But now, the only suspect was the nanny, who they must capture and bring back.

All they needed to do was capture the missing nanny to close the case.

Just as they were summarizing the case, Gu Yiran ca running over in a hurry from outside.
“What happened?”
“In Xinfafa District, soone jumped from a building; the appearance of the deceased is very similar to that of the nanny. I’ve already sent Zhang Peng to verify the information, but based on the photos sent back from the scene, it’s very likely the sa person.”
“Suicide?!”

Li Xianghui nodded, thanked the landlord, and then the three went to the rental room.
Inside the room, it was tidier than they had imagined.
Only the table was a bit ssy with so leftover food that hadn’t been finished.
The rest of the place had no trace of life, not even a blanket on the bed.

While the two were inspecting the room, Gu Yiran called out, holding a few pieces of paper of various sizes in his hands.
They went over to take a look and saw that they were filled with the words “I’m sorry.”

One of the A4 sheets was a tenancy agreent, the other two were receipts from purchases.
But all three papers had one thing in common, on any writable place, they were filled with the words “I’m sorry.”
“This must be sothing left by the deceased Li Youlan. The reason she did this must be because she could no longer bear the guilt and repeatedly wrote these words, hoping to seek repentance and forgiveness,” Lin Yi analyzed.
“But what’s the use of repenting now when the person is already dead? If she had a repentant heart, she would not have committed these acts in the first place.”
“I think we’ve analyzed this wrong. Although Li Youlan had the motive to kill, this motive wasn’t enough to sustain her killing Dong Wanjia,” Lin Yi said:
“Just like Brother Li just ntioned, the murderer must have been a cruel and callous person, while these three papers full of ‘I’m sorry’ indicate that she was a person with so conscience. Could she have killed soone just because they didn’t lend her money? That’s a bit of a stretch.”
“Secondly, according to the information on the tenancy agreent, Li Youlan moved in here five days ago. The fact that she chose to move in at that ti is enough to suggest that sothing had already happened to Dong Wanjia. Out of guilt and fear, she dared not stay alone in the villa, so she moved here.”
“But the problem is, Dong Wanjia hadn’t been in trouble when she ca here, so why did she move?” Gu Yiran raised his question.
“There must be sothing we’re not clear on, like how she managed to send ssages to the victim’s family saying everything was fine. So regarding her information, we need to continue investigating, as there could be a lot more worth digging into.”
