Chapter 2503: Chapter 2504: Mont of Crisis

Lin Yi shrugged. “No problem. How do you want to cooperate?”

“Stand still and don’t move.”

“Alright.”

Beihai Cangjie and the other three approached Lin Yi, ready to call Caie Mitsui down from the car as well.

Just as they closed in on Lin Yi, a cold flash streaked by. Beihai Cangjie felt a sudden chill in his abdon and stared down, only to see that it had already been pierced through!

The sudden turn of events threw the remaining three into a state of panic.

Nobody expected such a thing to happen. Their legs felt paralyzed, unwilling to move.

But soon, the three snapped out of their shock and pulled out switchblades from their pockets.

“You’re wasting your efforts—don’t bother struggling anymore.”

Casting Beihai Cangjie aside, Lin Yi imdiately charged forward, raising his leg and kicking one of them square in the chest.

The trendous force gave the man the illusion of being struck by a truck. He coughed up several mouthfuls of blood before collapsing to the ground, unable to stand.

The remaining two fared no better, as Lin Yi swiftly snapped their necks one after another, leaving them lifeless on the spot.

After dealing with the four, Lin Yi walked over to the car and called Caie Mitsui out.

“You get in the car first. I’ll deal with these bodies.”

“Okay.”

Seeing the corpses on the ground, Caie Mitsui showed no discomfort and casually took a seat in the front passenger seat.

Lin Yi dragged the four bodies into their original vehicle and set it ablaze with a single match.

The roaring flas illuminated the pitch-dark road ahead, resembling a radiant path toward freedom.

Out of danger, the two drove on, headed straight for Haroshima.

But Lin Yi didn’t fully relax, as they encountered multiple police roadblocks along the way.

Without a doubt, they were investigating his whereabouts.

Lin Yi couldn’t help but wonder: Who exactly was orchestrating this from behind the scenes?

Their swift response and impenetrable surveillance amounted to a near-perfect dragnet.

Driving for over three hours, dawn broke at around six in the morning.

Caie Mitsui, overco with fatigue, resisted sleep, wanting to spend more ti with Lin Yi.

“This isn’t the road to Haroshima.”

Seeing Lin Yi change the route, Caie Mitsui reminded him, worried he might be heading the wrong way.

“The car’s out of fuel. I’m stopping for gas and to pick up a few things. You must be hungry.”

“But can we just stop anywhere? What if we’re spotted?”

Pointing to his face, Lin Yi smirked.

“Look at now. Would anyone recognize ?”

“True.”

Caie Mitsui chuckled. “You really do look like a useless old grandpa right now.”

Lin Yi pinched her cheek. “Just wait until we’re settled—I’ll show you whether this old man’s got it or not.”

“Sure, I’d like that.”

“Alright, stay in the car and wait for .”

Caie Mitsui nodded, then dug into her bag and handed over so cash.

“Credit cards are no good anymore. Here’s all the cash we have left—it’s up to you.”

“This’ll last a few days. Wait here for .”

Giving her a quick reminder, Lin Yi got out, signaled the attendant to fill the tank, and walked into the convenience store to buy supplies.

anwhile, Caie Mitsui put on a mask to cover her face, waiting cautiously for Lin Yi to return.

At that mont, a police car drove up from the distance.

A man in uniform stepped out and said to his partner, “Wait for here. I’m grabbing a pack of cigarettes.”

“Can you grab a rice ball too? After working all night, I’m starving.”

“Ming Tai, what about you?”

“Sa for . I’ll take a rice ball too,” Ming Tai said, yawning.

“Got it.”

The policeman nodded and walked toward the convenience store to buy cigarettes and breakfast.

With a creak, the door opened. Lin Yi, browsing aimlessly, instinctively glanced over, his heartbeat quickening as he cautiously shifted himself further behind a shelf to stay out of sight.

“A pack of cigarettes, please. And three rice balls.”

“The rice balls aren’t ready yet—it’ll take about 20 minutes.”

“I don’t have that kind of ti. Just give the cigarettes.”

“Alright.”

The convenience store owner turned to grab the cigarettes as the police officer took out a wanted poster.

On it was none other than Lin Yi’s portrait.

Under normal circumstances, Caie Mitsui should also have been on the wanted list, but no one dared to include her.

This was because there was no evidence implicating Caie Mitsui in helping Lin Yi, and arresting her was solely to pressure him. Thus, her na wasn’t on the poster.

“Put this up at the door later. If you see the person on it, call us imdiately.”

“My God, a one-billion-yen bounty? This guy must be worth a lot,” the store owner gasped.

“He must have committed a serious cri to warrant this much money.”

“We don’t know either,” the officer replied impatiently. “Because of him, we haven’t slept all night—it’s infuriating.”

“That’s tough. I’ll put the notice up on the window shortly.”

The shopkeeper cooperated without comnting further.

“Damn it, if I catch him, I’ll make him pay and teach him a lesson he won’t forget!”

Cursing, the officer grabbed his cigarettes and left.

Lin Yi’s brow furrowed, his heart pounding uncontrollably.

But he stayed calm, stepping up to the counter and paying with a steady deanor.

They would never think that the person paying right in front of them was the fugitive they were hunting.

While paying, Lin Yi’s gaze subtly scanned the window outside, keeping an eye on any sudden changes.

Fate, however, was not on his side. Just as Lin Yi thought he could stay unnoticed, he caught a glimpse of the officer who had just bought cigarettes walking toward Caie Mitsui.

“Hurry up and give the change—I’m in a rush,” Lin Yi urged.

“Oh, right away, sir.”

Outside the convenience store, the cigarette-buying officer headed back toward the patrol car.

But before taking a few steps, he instinctively caught sight of the car refueling nearby.

It was just a fleeting glance, but sothing seed off, sparking his suspicion.

The woman sitting in the passenger seat looked oddly familiar.

Perhaps due to occupational familiarity, the officer’s sensitivity to faces far exceeded that of an average person.

Even with the mask covering her, Caie Mitsui’s eyes stood out vividly.

Still harboring doubts, the police officer began walking toward Caie Mitsui.

Caie Mitsui noticed the approaching figure. Her expression darkened as her heartbeat thundered in her chest.

The tank wasn’t full, Lin Yi hadn’t returned yet, and leaving on her own was out of the question.

Getting out of the car suddenly would only raise more suspicion.

There was nothing she could do except stay put, adapt to the situation, and hope it was nothing more than a false alarm.
