“Are you a cop?”
Song Jiajia frowned and said in a low voice:
“Sir, do you think it’s funny to joke around with ? Why don’t you just say you’re the richest man in China?”

After saying this, Song Jiajia glanced back at the front desk girl and said coldly:

Normally, Song Jiajia wouldn’t be this tough.
But Lin Yi kept flipping between saying he was a cop and claiming to be a billionaire, which made her extrely resistant to engaging.
From start to finish, she simply couldn’t stand people like this.
“I really am a cop. Here’s my ID.”
As he spoke, Lin Yi took out his phone and pulled up an old photo of his badge.
“What, huh?”
Song Jiajia froze again when she saw the photo, left speechless.
How could one person possibly have so many identities?
“See? You had to go and ss with my Lin Bro,” Liang Jinming said gleefully.
“Fine, follow upstairs then,” Song Jiajia said blandly.
The four of them headed upstairs to the property managent office on the second floor, where Song Jiajia instructed the staff to pull up surveillance footage from the day in question for Lin Yi.
“Lin Bro, what are you investigating?” Gao Zongyuan asked at the computer.
“I want to see who sent flowers to Ji Qingyan.”
“No way,” Liang Jinming said, speechless.
“Given President Ji’s looks, the number of people chasing her could stretch from Zhong Hai to Yanjing. A couple of admirers sending her flowers—that’s pretty normal.”
“Old Liang makes a good point,” Qin Han chid in.
“Nowadays, people don’t care whether soone is pregnant or not; they seize any chance they can get. What’s there to investigate about this?”
“If it’s an admirer, they’d definitely send roses. But white roses are unusual,” Lin Yi explained:
“It’s like bringing roses to a gravesite—it just doesn’t feel right.”
Lin Yi’s explanation made the three of them realize sothing seed off.
Still, they didn’t overthink it; it was just a bouquet of flowers, nothing too dramatic.
Lin Yi grabbed the mouse and began reviewing the day’s surveillance footage, while Qin Han and the other two played gas and chatted.
As he adjusted the tiline, Lin Yi spotted Song Minghui, who had stepped out to take out the trash. His expression grew serious.
She had said that she saw the white roses appear at the door after she ca back from taking out the trash.
If everything went as expected, the person delivering the flowers should show up any mont now.
But regrettably, after watching for over ten minutes, no suspicious person appeared.
“Excuse , I’d like to ask—do the surveillance caras only capture the main entrance?”
The middle-aged security guard nodded, “They just face the main entrance. Anything facing the doorstep would be considered an invasion of privacy.”
“Got it.”
Lin Yi went through the footage again but still didn’t find anyone suspicious near the door.
An uneasy feeling crept over him. The individual in question might have avoided all the surveillance caras and gone directly to Ji Qingyan’s door.
This was not a good sign.
Lin Yi expanded the search, reviewing footage from the entire villa complex.
Suddenly, Lin Yi noticed a shadow flash across the screen—a figure that appeared for less than a second.
This caught Lin Yi’s attention; it seed highly unusual.
Given Zhong Hai’s current weather, it was rare for anyone to wear black clothing outside, let alone be so thoroughly covered up.
“Could it be…?”
Lin Yi’s hand trembled slightly.
His sharp instincts told him that the fleeting figure in the footage was likely the elusive man in black he had crossed paths with before!
Frowning deeply, Lin Yi pondered. With Mammon’s intelligence network, finding Ji Qingyan’s address wouldn’t be hard.
Even though she had people guarding her 24/7, soone with the man in black’s skills could easily sneak past security and leave a bouquet at the door without doing anything overtly suspicious.
Yet the white roses, symbolizing respect and purity, paired with his enigmatic identity, made the gesture all the more bizarre.
“Could I have been wrong?” Lin Yi muttered to himself.
After thinking long and hard, Lin Yi couldn’t figure it out. Not until his phone buzzed did he break free from his thoughts.
“I’m ready. Where are you guys?”
“We’re near ho. We’ll be back soon.”
“Alright.”
After hanging up on Ji Qingyan, Lin Yi decided to stop dwelling on the footage for now, as he couldn’t co to a conclusion anyway.
The four of them drove back ho. Lin Yi tucked the matter away in his mind, planning to revisit it later.
The five of them then piled into Qin Han’s Alfa and drove to the photo studio.
The routine was the sa as before—they wanted to take a few nice-looking ID photos.
Compared to Liang Ruoxu’s hesitant approach last ti, Ji Qingyan was much more composed.
She gently rested her head against Lin Yi’s shoulder, smiling softly and elegantly.
The photo session went smoothly and was finished within half an hour.
With Ji Qingyan’s natural beauty, editing the images would’ve been redundant, so they skipped that step entirely.
After the ID photos were done, the group of five headed to the marriage registration office.
To their surprise, they ran into Tao Yuan at the entrance.
“Why aren’t you working? What are you doing here?”
“My senior is registering her marriage—such a big occasion! How could I not co?” Tao Yuan retorted:
“Besides, Lingyun Group’s scale is so big that there isn’t much that urgently requires my attention.”

When it cos to showing off, no one could compete with Tao Yuan.
“Alright, alright, stop loitering at the entrance and head inside,” Qin Han said.

About ten minutes later, Lin Yi and Ji Qingyan erged, each holding their little red marriage certificates. The others scrambled to get a look, except for Tao Yuan, who burst into uncontrollable tears.
“President Ji just got married—it’s a good thing. Why are you crying with so many people around?” Gao Zongyuan said, trying to console her.
“Boo-hoo-hoo…” Tao Yuan wiped her tears, crying even harder.
“I feel like my senior doesn’t belong to anymore.”
In China, getting a marriage certificate carries a certain gravity—it’s almost like sealing one’s fate. Once the certificate is issued, it changes things in a way that’s intangible but undeniable.
“Oh, co on…” Ji Qingyan held Tao Yuan’s hand and reassured her:
“We’re having a baby soon, so we have to get married. Besides, you and Gao Zongyuan have been together for so long; eventually, you’ll get married too. It’s perfectly normal—stop crying.”

“Since we’re already here at the civil affairs bureau, why don’t you and Gao get your certificates too? That way, you won’t need to co back later.”
