In the hotel, after hanging up the call with Anning, Lin Yi stretched lazily.

The proprietress said no more, then went to the kitchen to arrange the food.

The proprietress sat nearby, watching Lin Yi intently, apparently curious about how he would finish all three plates.

In less than 20 minutes, Lin Yi polished off the three dishes and four bowls of rice.
The proprietress sat there dumbfounded; it was the first ti she’d seen soone who could eat that much.
Wiping his mouth, Lin Yi settled the bill and left in a cab.
He went to central street, bought so local souvenirs, and two little snowman toys to bring back for the kids.
Aside from those, Lin Yi also bought a lot of local delicacies.
He would pass through Jing City on the way back; with plenty of ti, he planned to see his kids before driving back.
After buying everything, it was already dark. Lin Yi repacked his things, preparing to go to the regional transfer point, then head back.
Coming out of the hotel, Lin Yi suddenly noticed a white Jetta parked at the entrance.
Tens of thousands of dollars, a very ordinary family car, commonly seen on the streets.
But the unusual thing was, sitting in the car was Anning.
Seeing Anning again, she seed unchanged, just a bit more gentle and graceful.
One person sat in the car, the other stood outside, their eyes t and they both smiled.

Anning didn’t move, but took out her phone and dialed Lin Yi’s number.
“You’re leaving already?”
“How did you know I was staying here?”
“You stayed here last ti you ca. Unfamiliar place, I thought you might choose here again, so I waited for you.” Anning said.
“Now that I’ve seen you, there’s no regret.”
“Who said there’s no regret?”
“I did.” Lin Yi replied with a smile.
Anning’s face showed a gentle smile, as if even the snow outside could lt.
“I won’t see you off; I still have to go ho and put the kids to bed.”
“Okay.”
Lin Yi nodded lightly, watching Anning.
“Rember what I told you that day?”
“I rember.” Anning replied:
“Whenever I encounter difficulties, just tell you, no matter where, no matter how far, you’ll appear in front of first thing.”
“This promise is always valid.”
“I rember when I left last ti, you kissed on the cheek. Now that I have kids, kissing again would be inappropriate.”
Anning looked at Lin Yi tenderly with her phone, “Make a heart gesture with before you go.”
Lin Yi recalled those idol heart gestures and clumsily imitated one.
It felt sowhat awkward and silly.
“So clumsy, like a pig.”
Lin Yi chuckled foolishly, like an idiot.
“I’m off, have a safe trip back.”
“Okay, it’s cold and the roads are slippery, drive carefully.”
“Okay.”
They both hung up at almost the sa ti.
Anning turned and left, and Lin Yi turned as well.
They walked in opposite directions, neither looking back.
Lin Yi took a cab to the Ice City Region’s transfer point.
The shipnts bound for Zhong Hai were already loaded, and with the experience from the first ti, it went smoothly this ti.
After passing through the dispatcher’s office, many recognized Lin Yi.
Twenty-two hours from Zhong Hai to Ice City, this speed would be hard to beat in the future.
After getting the ticket, Lin Yi drove out of the region.

When he got ho, it was the nanny who opened the door; Mi Li wasn’t ho.

“Aunt Chen, where are Mi Li and the kids?”
“Mi Li went to work, the kids are at their grandparents’ place, and she gave three days off. If you’d co a bit later, I would have left.”

“Have a drink of water before you go.”

With a quick farewell, Lin Yi left the things he bought and turned to leave.
The child was now over a year old, and Mi Li’s life was back on track.

But many mistook him for a repairman.

The middle-aged woman glanced at Lin Yi, “Who are you? Do you have an appointnt?”
“I’m her…”
Halfway through speaking, Lin Yi looked at his attire, feeling it inappropriate to say “husband”, so he added:
“I’m her friend, here to see her for sothing.”
“Please register first, Director Liang is in room 808.”
“Alright.”
