1082: 753 agreed or not?
1082: 753 agreed or not?
New Year’s Day is approaching.
The weather is gradually getting colder.
At the entrance of Apang Palace, Wan Wenya opened the car door, and Jiang Chen wrapped his coat tighter around himself, just about to duck into the car, when he suddenly heard a voice, “Hey…”
He instinctively looked up.
It was the delivery man munching on a stead bun on the street corner last ti.
Jiang Chen stopped getting into the car and walked over with a smile.
“What a coincidence, we et again.”
The brother must have been delivering food and happened to pass by; he glanced at the distinguished-looking Wan Wenya then looked at the grand car seemingly out of reach.
Compared to last ti’s casual deanor, there was now a hint of restraint.
“Yeah, it’s quite the coincidence.”
“About to celebrate the New Year, aren’t you going ho?”
Jiang Chen behaved as if nothing was amiss, as if he was still that young lad squatting on the street and chatting.
“It’s still a few days away.
I’ll work a bit more; wages are higher during the holidays.”
Affected by Jiang Chen’s deanor, the brother tried not to look at Wan Wenya, “I wasn’t planning to go back this year actually.”
“Because your family doesn’t agree?”
“That’s not it.”
Dressed in a thick company uniform, the brother said: “My wife has always been understanding.
Going ho once costs quite a bit in travel, and during the Spring Festival, train tickets are hard to snatch.”
“So why did you suddenly change your mind?”
The brother chuckled, “Didn’t you notice?
I switched companies.”
It was only then that Jiang Chen noticed; the brother’s work clothes were entirely different from last ti.
“A new food delivery platform has been launched recently; the treatnt is quite good, with an inco increase of 20%.
The key point is, they also sign contracts with us and provide insurance.”
A boost in inco ant that he didn’t have to work so hard anymore, and could make ti to be with his family and enjoy life.
“That’s nice.”
Jiang Chen nodded with approval.
“Weren’t you saying you wanted to try food delivery?
Now’s a good opportunity.
This new platform is hiring aggressively.
I can recomnd you.”
Blurting it out, the brother obviously had not forgotten their last exchange, but he quickly ca back to his senses and involuntarily glanced at the patiently waiting Wan Wenya, his speech halting.
This young man, might not be what he had imagined.
“Sorry…”
He looked embarrassed.
Look at the man’s clothes, his style; does he need to earn his living by doing manual labor?
“The money will never be fully earned.
Since the market has improved, allow yourself to be lazy in secret, and get ho early.”
“Mhm.”
The brother nodded, his phone rang with a notification, and he hurriedly said: “I have a delivery to make.”
“Stay safe.”
As the brother rode his electric bike off, he seed more energetic and hopeful than the last ti.
As Jiang Chen turned around, the delivery man looked back.
In Capital City, there was never a shortage of wealthy and influential people.
Whatever the young man’s identity, it was none of his business.
Most importantly, his own life was slowly improving.
The brother revved up, sprinting through the intersection as the countdown neared its end.
Jiang Chen got into the car.
The car started.
“Does Apang Palace have no delivery service?”
It was a bizarre question for the boss to ask, but as a competent manager, Wan Wenya quickly provided an answer.
“We do not offer delivery services.”
In fact, like many high-end establishnts, not just Apang Palace, delivery is not supported.
Understandable.
After all, Apang Palace isn’t just a simple dining spot; its characteristics are not in this area.
“Mr.
Jiang, are you considering adding an online al delivery service?”
Jiang Chen shook his head.
“Just asking.”
With Apang Palace’s scale, it did not need such online business; to forcibly do so would lower the grade, putting the cart before the horse.
If the wealthy stopped coming to spend, how would they rob the rich to aid the poor?
The car was headed towards the airport.
Qin Island.
When Jiang Chen got into the taxi, small snowflakes began to flutter from the sky.
He took out his phone and called Li Shuru.
With the New Year around the corner, Li Shuru had already returned ho from East Sea to spend it with her mother.
Over the phone, Jiang Chen pretended he was still in Capital City, saying he had sent sothing; Li Yuan Hua, always understanding, did not have any complaints and provided the address.
Worried about making a mistake, Jiang Chen found his mory could be trusted.
Without grand arrangents, he purchased so ordinary gifts at the entrance of the neighborhood, Jiang Chen carried the items and arrived at his girlfriend’s doorstep.
“Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong…”
“Mom, it should be the courier, can you get it?”
Noise ca from inside.
Soon after, the door opened.
“Aunt Xue.”
Seeing Jiang Chen suddenly appearing at the door, the unprepared Xue Mingqin was montarily stunned.
It wasn’t until Jiang Chen greeted her with a smile that she was sure she wasn’t hallucinating.
“Co in, co in quickly!”
Xue Mingqin could not hide her excitent, quickly pulling Jiang Chen inside, “Why buy things, you’re not an outsider.”
“Where’s Shu Rui?”
“She’s making dumplings, I thought it was a courier!”
It was obvious that Xue Mingqin was quite happy, leading Jiang Chen into the house.
Li Shuru was rolling out dough at the dining table, she’d tied her hair up in a bun for convenience, though her cheeks bore so flour, making her look less aloof and more charming.
“Mom, did you get it?”
She turned her head.
“You roll quite well.”
Li Shuru looked taken aback.
Xue Mingqin walked over with a smile, “Let do it, you go entertain Little Jiang.”
Li Shuru vacated the spot, moving slowly, step by step.
“It’s not a courier?
You ca yourself?”
Jiang Chen spoke seriously: “Not welcod?”
Out of the blue, Li Shuru raised her hands, covered in flour, and pinched her boyfriend’s cheeks.
