"Uncle, Auntie, I’m heading off now."
Tong Dan was still politely saying goodbye when Fang Qing pushed her out the door and shut it.
"What’s the rush?"
Tong Dan was displeased, "I’m still a guest, aren’t I?"
"Didn’t you co over on the fifth day of the New Year?"
Of course, the beautiful Tong Dan wasn’t here for New Year visits today, as that was long done. Normally, no one drags it this late, except the maverick little prince.
"Just because I ca before, I’m not a guest?"
Tong Dan grumbled, "Fang Qing, is it because I didn’t bring gifts today?"
Fang Qing ignored her and went down the stairs.
Wearing a mink coat, exuding elegance and fashion, Tong Dan stretched her alluring legs, wanting to follow her good friend downstairs, and couldn’t help but glance at the opposite door.
"Do you have the key to Jiang Chen’s place?"
She asked.
"Why do you want it?"
Fang Qing turned her head back from the stairwell.
"I ntioned it before, I want to go in and take a picture for mories, to get so good vibes."
"Take it outside; it’s the sa."
Fang Qing continued downward.
Retracting her gaze from the dilapidated door, Tong Dan trotted in her high heels to catch up.
"This place really needs to be torn down. It’s been decades, and it’s inconvenient for the elderly to go up and down. I heard Uncle Fang say the relocation houses might be completed this year?"
"I don’t know."
"Such a big thing, getting a new house for free, and you don’t care?"
Tong Dan feigned a sigh, "Well, it’s understandable. You’re a rich woman now, a house is just a drop in the bucket..."
As she spoke, Tong Dan slipped and nearly fell, but luckily, Fang Qing quickly supported her.
"Why wear high heels when you’re not going to work?"
A shocked Tong Dan steadied herself, "Is it my fault? Hurry and get Jiang Chen to spur the contractors into action. If Uncle Fang and the others fall, it won’t be trivial."
"They’ve lived here for decades; they’d be fine with their eyes closed."
Fang Qing let go of her, "Miss, watch your step."
Tong Dan shot her a glance and indeed beca more cautious, stepping carefully in her not-so-high heels, descending the narrow, dusty stairs.
"Now I get it when people say one person’s success uplifts everyone around them, and I understand why a whole village would be so excited when a student goes to college. Qing Gege, you have no idea how envious my parents are."
"Envious of what?"
"Envious that you have Jiang Chen from your courtyard."
"That piece of Fuda Square is probably the best location in Sha City. So many developers were fighting for it, but Jiang Chen got it directly as relocation housing for you guys, and it’s fully furnished to boot. It’s like raining money on your neighborhood. Don’t you think my parents are envious?"
The decaying courtyard of laid-off workers should have stayed quietly in the annals of history, slowly forgotten by ti, but who knew a prodigy would erge.
The majority of the world consists of ordinary people.
And the world of ordinary people isn’t that complicated; it’s very pure.
A house and a car constitute a lifeti’s pursuit.
And now.
Just because of this one neighbor, even if it doesn’t change their fate, at least the residents of the Sanjian Courtyard will have much less burden.
It’s not the lack but the unequal distribution that causes people to worry.
In a small city, nothing can be kept secret, let alone such explosive news.
How could the people outside Sanjian Courtyard not be envious?
"Even though Uncle and Auntie don’t have a neighbor like Jiang Chen, they have a wonderful daughter like you. Buying them a house is no big deal."
Who says there’s no flattery between besties?
Faced with Fang Qing’s coback, Tong Dan sneered.
"My dear Qing Gege, have you been away from the grassroots for too long and don’t understand the hardships of ordinary people? Do you think housing prices in Sha City are cheap? Speaking of, the piece Jiang Chen picked for you at Fuda Square, the highest ones have crossed ten thousand per square ter, with an average of eight to nine thousand. I’ve only been working for a few years; do you think I have that economic capability? Or do you think being a flight attendant is like picking up money?"
"Plus, I’m still a dropout."
"Just say it straightforwardly."
Fang Qing said indifferently.
"There’s nothing; I have nothing to say."
Tong Dan imdiately replied.
"Then forget it."
Reaching the ground floor, the two won finally stepped out of the corridor.
In mind gas, Tong Dan is certainly not a match; she wasn’t in middle school, and even less so after growing up.
Though being a flight attendant involves dealing with people, but consider what Fang Qing does.
"Okay, there is sothing."
Finally dropping pretenses, the very feminine but sowhat carefree Tong Dan said brightly: "It’s my parents. They thought since I went to school with Jiang Chen and you, they had the idea that I should see if I could pull so strings."
"Didn’t your family just buy your place a few years ago?"
Fang Qing seed to know what she was getting at.
"Yeah, but the location isn’t great, and wanting to save money is human nature."
Fang Qing couldn’t help but curve her lips, "When I see your parents, I’ll have to relay what their daughter said."
"It’s the truth. One’s greed has no bounds, swallowing more than they can chew. Clearly living just fine, but the mont they heard about this, they got restless. I told them, that area isn’t without apartnts for sale. If they really think the location is bad and want to change, they can buy one themselves."
"They wouldn’t mind if it’s a relocation house?"
Fang Qing and Tong Dan walked towards the courtyard entrance, receiving lots of looks but surprisingly no one dared to say hello.
"The house Jiang Chen built for you guys would definitely be the best quality in Sha City, incomparable to those shoddy comrcial buildings."
"Alright. How big do you need? The largest is only 110 square ters."
What makes a friend.
