193: 193 Settled Accounts (Requesting Monthly Votes!) 193: 193 Settled Accounts (Requesting Monthly Votes!) Under the thick veil of night, a faint silhouette erged from the gloomy construction site.

A Passat and an Aston Martin were parked not far away.

Fortunately, this place was seldom visited, so no one would notice.

“Miss Shi, goodbye.”

Even though Jiang Chen thought it best not to see her again, he still maintained basic courtesy on the surface, politely saying goodbye to the young lady of wealth who may have experienced the most thrilling night of her life, and then he walked toward the Passat.

Who knew that the sound of high heels closely following him would imdiately co from behind.

Jiang Chen frowned and stopped in his tracks.

“Why are you following ?”

“I, I’m scared.”

Shi Qianxi clutched the hem of her dress, looking pitiful.

Jiang Chen was silent.

“Miss Shi, you’re not in danger anymore.

Get in the car, go back to the hotel, take a bath, have a good sleep, and consider tonight a dream.

Your life won’t be affected in any way.”

Shi Qianxi didn’t seem to take it in, just looking at Jiang Chen pitifully and stamring, “Can you, take back?”

Jiang Chen was stunned.

She must be scared silly, right?

He thought.

He’d just kidnapped her, and instead of trying to get away from him as soon as possible, she was actually asking him to take her back?

Instinctively, Jiang Chen suspected her of having ulterior motives.

“Miss Shi, let repeat this—I did this because I was forced.

As long as you don’t bother again, I guarantee with my character that these photos will never be circulated.”

“Please…”

Shi Qianxi even grabbed the hem of his jacket, and it didn’t seem like an act.

Given her status, she probably never experienced anything like this before.

She couldn’t possibly have developed psychological issues because of this, could she?

“You could ask your bodyguards or friends to co get you.”

Jiang Chen still didn’t dare let his guard down.

Escorting her back to the hotel would indeed be a simple task, but if she tried any tricks on the way, he’d regret it too late.

All he’d done was scare her, but if he ended up in her hands, the consequences would be entirely different.

With the unpredictable temperant of this young lady, she might really call up so Jurassic creatures to tornt him.

At this thought, Jiang Chen felt a cold shiver and beca even more vigilant.

“How can I call soone in this state?”

Shi Qianxi almost started crying out of misery.

Jiang Chen subconsciously glanced at her ragged, dirt-streaked appearance and found himself at a loss for words.

Indeed.

If she were seen like this by others, no one would need the photos on his phone to imagine a wild and explosive scandal unfolding.

After weighing his options for a mont, Jiang Chen frowned and reminded her, “Miss Shi, I hope we can put our grudges to rest here.

Any further complications would do neither of us any good, do you understand what I’m saying?”

Like a chick pecking at rice, Shi Qianxi nodded continuously.

“Wait here for .”

Then, Jiang Chen walked toward the Passat and whispered to Bai Haoran inside, “Brother Bai, you guys go ahead.”

“Young Master Jiang, what about you?”

“I need to ensure her safe return.

If she ets with any accident alone in this state, my efforts tonight would be in vain.”

Bai Haoran was never one to dawdle.

He nodded, signaled to the driver, and the Passat left the construction site under the cover of night.

Jiang Chen turned around and walked toward the Aston Martin.

“Let’s go.”

Shi Qianxi obediently followed.

“Not driving after drinking is common sense,” said the person who had kidnapped her, beaten her, and taken indecent photos, as he stopped her from getting into the driver’s seat with a righteous tone.

Oddly enough, the usually defiant Miss Shi didn’t retort; she paused, then closed the car door she had opened, and walked around to the passenger side without a word.

Jiang Chen, who could be a traffic safety ambassador, drove the Aston Martin away from the construction site.

The decrepit surrounding gradually beca bustling.

Blurry street shadows flashed by outside the window.

Within the smoothly-driving luxury sports car, the atmosphere was utterly quiet.

Shi Qianxi, uncharacteristically, suddenly beca inexplicably well-behaved, clutching the seatbelt, not knowing what to think, but occasionally sneaking glances at Jiang Chen.

Seeing no sign of her turning hostile, Jiang Chen’s heart eased slightly, and he coughed lightly, continuing his attempts to smooth things over.

“Miss Shi, you should understand that you and I are actually friends.

Since you’ve investigated , you should know what my relationship with Shu Rui is.

Without , I think Mr.

Sun would be even less likely to submit to the Xiang Family, so you and I should be on the sa side.”

“But you hit ,”

Shi Qianxi said softly.

Jiang Chen felt a bit awkward and couldn’t help but explain, “It wasn’t intentional.

If soone insulted you like that, I don’t think Mr.

Sun would stand by idly either…”

Jiang Chen hadn’t finished speaking when he heard Shi Qianxi say, “He wouldn’t.

He definitely wouldn’t do anything.”

Jiang Chen’s voice stalled.

What does the state of your relationship have to do with him?

That’s an issue between the two of you.

Jiang Chen certainly had no ti to sort out other people’s emotional matters, so he steered away from the topic.

“Miss Shi, you also bit .

We should be even now.”

Shi Qianxi slowly lifted her head and looked toward his arm.

“Should we go to the hospital to have it checked out?”

Jiang Chen was taken aback and involuntarily turned with surprise.

But from the other person’s face, he couldn’t discern any sarcasm or scorn; rather, she seed very serious, even conveying a hint of concern.

Jiang Chen’s mind was sowhat in a muddle.

What in the world was wrong with this woman?

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have found it very difficult to associate the imperious, arrogant rich girl of yesterday with her current deanor.

Could it be that she had truly been frightened by him to the point of ntal disturbance?

“I’m fine.

It’s just a minor injury,”

Jiang Chen forced a smile.

“But, you’re bleeding.”

That bite was indeed not gentle; his sleeve was already stained with blood.

Jiang Chen, feeling oddly inside, didn’t respond further, only thinking of quickly getting this hysterical woman to her destination and parting ways for good, to never et again.

Shi Qianxi quieted down as well.

From the corner of his eye, Jiang Chen noticed her lightly touching her face, looking distracted and deep in thought.

Half an hour later.

The Aston Martin successfully arrived at the underground parking lot of the Hilton Hotel.

Jiang Chen secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

“We’re here.”

“Oh.”

Shi Qianxi, preoccupied, pushed the door to get out.

Jiang Chen’s brow twitched, and he quickly called out, “Wait a second.”

Shi Qianxi turned back, her eyes filled with confusion.

“You plan to go down like this?”

“What’s wrong?”

Jiang Chen fell silent for a mont, then feigned nonchalance, “You should take off your stockings.”

After all, the hotel was bustling with people.

Shi Qianxi looked down at the torn stockings on her legs, realizing the situation, and instinctively reached up beneath her skirt.

Jiang Chen’s heart skipped a beat.

Had this woman truly lost her mind?!

Didn’t she see he was still in the car?

Without ti to say more, as she began to take off her stockings seemingly without any concern for his presence, Jiang Chen hurriedly opened the door and got out of the car.
