"To the north... the forest..."
Lu Zheng arrived at the northern woods of the Tushan Collection and did indeed sense a faint demonic aura there.
"That Observation Talisman is pretty sensitive, able to detect even this slight demonic aura and issue a warning." Lu Zheng nodded, confirming his judgnt that this odd creature wasn't Leng Li.

In the clearing, there were ten or so scattered wolf corpses, and in the center, there was a massive wolf demon, its fur a mix of gray and black, struggling wildly. Its limbs clawed at the ground in a desperate attempt to escape.
Beside it stood a petite woman in black, her expression aloof, arms crossed, utterly unconcerned.
Except, from beneath her skirt, a large scorpion tail extended, its stinger embedded in the spine of the wolf demon, gripping it tightly. No matter how the wolf demon struggled and squird, it couldn't move at all.
Scorpion Spirit, Mo Lan!
Seeing Lu Zheng appear, Mo Lan's cold deanor softened a bit. She nodded at Lu Zheng, then with a flash in her eyes, injected the scorpion venom.
The wolf demon let out a mournful howl, its strength instantly drained, a flash of black air between its fur, and it dropped to the ground, lifeless.
Retracting the stinger, the scorpion tail quickly vanished under her skirt. Mo Lan clasped her hands in greeting, "What brings Young Master Lu here?"
Lu Zheng gestured towards the corpse of the wolf demon, "I ca for this wolf demon."

Lu Zheng blinked, perplexed.
Seeing Lu Zheng seed puzzled, Mo Lan explained, "I injected my scorpion venom into its body, and it flowed through its ridians and blood, invaded its five viscera and six bowels, skin, bones, and blood, almost instantly killing it.
Even after it died, I hadn't controlled my venom, so it continued spreading throughout its whole body again."
Lu Zheng nodded.
"I can sense my scorpion venom within it," Mo Lan said, "Now, so much ti has passed, logically, my venom should have seeped through its entire body."
"But not the depths of its heart vein?" Lu Zheng replied.
"Exactly." Mo Lan nodded, squatting down, pulling open the chest and abdon of the wolf demon's corpse, and casually tearing it apart.
"Riiip!"
The wolf corpse was directly torn open, and the venom-tainted black blood flowed out, seeping into the ground.
"Found it!" Mo Lan said.
"Huh?" Lu Zheng also sensed it.
Mo Lan reached in and crushed the wolf demon's heart, extracting a small mass of fresh red blood from it.
Lu Zheng felt a thick demon qi emanating from this mass of blood.
"Wolf Demon Essence Blood!" Mo Lan said.
"Wolf Demon Essence Blood?" Lu Zheng asked.
"Not from this wolf demon; it's from another powerful wolf demon, containing its demon power and imprint, this demon is of the sa origin, and by swallowing this essence blood, it didn't suffer backlash from the imprint, but accidentally transford into a demon instead." Mo Lan explained.

"How could a powerful wolf demon have left its essence blood nearby?"
