"What? Why work overti on the weekend?"
Lu Zheng had just gotten ho with Lin Wan when Lin Wan's phone started ringing.
The call was to ask Lin Wan to return to work.
She agreed and helplessly looked at Lu Zheng, "It's because of the anonymous evidence you posted on the Interpol website. The Southeast Asian governnts are going crazy, constantly contacting our country, and even sending people over. Li Ying and a bunch of technicians are trying to trace the source, and I have to help with communications."
Lu Zheng scoffed, "What are they trying to trace? They won't find a damn thing!"
In the realm of hacking, Lu Zheng had bestowed himself with about thirty strands of Light of Fortune, making it impossible for anyone in the world to track him down.
Plus, they were out in Hai City dining, shopping, and watching movies yesterday during the day, so they were absolutely in the clear, with no chance of exposure.
Lin Wan shrugged, "The thing is, I'm not in charge of this."
Lu Zheng asked in disbelief, "So you're going to do pointless work?"
"I can't just say it's my cultivator boyfriend who did it, right?" Lin Wan laughed, "Even if I said it, a cultivator who's good at hacking? That's just not the right vibe!"
Lu Zheng, "..."
"Alright, alright. It's probably just for today. Once it's settled, it'll just be the various law enforcent agencies rounding up and interrogating those people. Interpol won't need to get involved." Lin Wan smiled and gave Lu Zheng a peck, trying to reassure him.
So, Lu Zheng watched as Lin Wan washed up and then left, aning their planned special forces cosplay had to be canceled.

After a busy weekend, Lin Wan was finally done, clocking out just after four, so she and Lu Zheng went to the airport to pick up Zhao Xiaodao.
Half an hour later, Zhao Xiaodao, fresh off the plane, hurriedly sent her assistant away and got into Lin Wan's car.
"Do you have to work tonight?" Lin Wan asked.
"No, no, I have a show recording tomorrow morning, so we ca tonight, but I've already got the script, so I'm free tonight." Zhao Xiaodao replied.
"Alright." Lin Wan nodded, "Then let's not eat out today, let's eat at ho."
"Is Brother Lu cooking?" Zhao Xiaodao's eyes lit up as she asked with a grin.
At previous gatherings, Lin Wan would often have Lu Zheng critique, and she ntioned Lu Zheng's cooking skills, so when a ho-cooked al was ntioned, Zhao Xiaodao casually brought it up.
"Tsk tsk, finally I get to taste Brother Lu's cooking." Zhao Xiaodao chuckled, "What is Brother Lu planning to make? A Taste of Moonlight over the Twenty-Four Bridges or Jade Flute Listening to Falling Plum Blossoms Soup?"
"Heh, you're overthinking it."
Lu Zheng, driving in the front, chuckled coldly, "It's braised python and stir-fried wolf at!"
Zhao Xiaodao was taken aback, forcing a smile, "Brother Lu, you must be joking..."
Glancing sideways at Lin Wan, who smiled but said nothing, Zhao Xiaodao felt a wave of panic.
Snake at is understandable, as snakes are fard nowadays, but a giant snake...?
And the wolf at? What's with that?
"It's eel and dog at."
Seeing Zhao Xiaodao's gaze darting around, looking uneasy, Lin Wan smiled and added a line.
She definitely couldn't say that these were ingredients Lu Zheng sohow got his hands on.
The wolf at had long filled the fridge, its texture firm and a great tonic for Qi and blood. Lin Wan had been eating it regularly, swapping between hot-pot, stewed, and stir-fried, consuming almost 80% of it by now.
Not long after the New Year, the fridge got stocked with a bunch of seafood, fresh and tender. Lu Zheng made Buddha Jumps Over the Wall twice for her, and she fell in love with this famous dish from Fujian Province.
Snake at only recently entered the fridge, and she'd eaten it twice, filled with a dicinal aroma, and if not for her strong cultivation, an ordinary person might get nosebleeds from overconsumption.
Of course, these details weren't necessary for Zhao Xiaodao to hear.
"Whew—"
"That's more like it."
Upon hearing Lin Wan's explanation, Zhao Xiaodao let out a sigh of relief, "You scared !"
"There's also a pot of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall simring on low heat, which should be just right when we get back."
Zhao Xiaodao comnted, "I didn't think Brother Lu was skilled in southern cuisine?"

"I dabble a bit," Lu Zheng replied, "But these few dishes are quite nourishing. Originally, they were ant for Lin Wan, but since you're here, you'll benefit too."
Zhao Xiaodao cheerfully clung to Lin Wan's arm, "Being able to eat Brother Lu's personally cooked dishes, I guess I really hit the jackpot!"
Lu Zheng glanced through the rearview mirror, "Indeed, but too bad these dishes only boost Qi and blood."

Zhao Xiaodao suspected Lu Zheng was subtly mocking her, but she didn't dare retort.

These were all prepared by Lu Zheng for Lin Wan. The two frequently dined on them, and even if they were not for Qi and blood replenishnt, the quality and taste of the ingredients themselves were superior to modern ones.
Of course, eating these things wouldn't make one ascend to immortality imdiately, but it was enough to make Zhao Xiaodao feel all warm and cozy that night, waking up in the hotel the next day feeling incredibly refreshed, with a bloodstain on her pillow.
Seems like it was a bit too much of a tonic...
Backstage during the show's makeup session, the makeup artist marveled, "Sister Xiaodao, you look great today, and your skin is so good. I've never seen a celebrity in such good condition. How do you maintain it?"
The program had a decent budget, with its own makeup artist, so Zhao Xiaodao didn't bring her studio's makeup artist along.

The makeup artist exclaid in horror, instantly attracting a crowd.
People rushed into the makeup room, seeing Zhao Xiaodao inexplicably bleeding from her nose, and their faces turned pale.
