"To single-handedly force all the ministers into rebellion... His Majesty Nie Yun is so amazing!"
"I also heard His Majesty annihilated the Mi Tian Sect and the Assassin Union all by himself. How terrifying!"
"Of course! His Majesty is the most outstanding genius in the history of the Empire. His speed of advancent is unparalleled, and it’s said that only a few of the top monstrous talents from the Divine Holy Empire can compare!"
"Those monstrous talents from the Divine Holy Empire may advance quickly, but when it cos to boldness, they’re a far cry from His Majesty..."
The entire Divine Wind City was abuzz with tales of Nie Yun’s achievents. He had beco the spiritual pillar of the Empire, an idol for the youth, and his prestige was second to none.
"I’ve seen His Majesty Nie Yun in person! I was even on brotherly terms with him!"
"Yeah, right, keep bragging. On brotherly terms with His Majesty? Who do you think you are?"
"If you don’t believe , ask the Miss..."
Within the Iron Rock rcenary Corps, discussions were also buzzing, and every face showed irrepressible excitent.
"Captain Tie Yan, you’re too modest. If you hadn’t stepped in to repel that Qi Sect-level Demon Beast back then, I’m afraid I would have died long ago, and the Divine Wind Trading House wouldn’t exist today!"
"That’s right! Captain Tie Yan’s strength was at its Peak back then. A single swing of his sword swept across the land, and no demon or monster dared to co near!"
In the main hall of the rcenary Corps, several middle-aged n in lavish clothes were seated as guests, smiling and congratulating Captain Tie Yan.
"Heh heh, you flatter . That was so many years ago, it’s not worth ntioning!" Tie Lan’s father, Tie Yan, said with a smile.
"Captain Tie Yan, you saved our lives. How could we not ntion it? If we didn’t, wouldn’t that make us ungrateful? Heh heh, by the way, Captain Tie Yan, I heard your daughter Tie Lan has returned. I was wondering if you could introduce us?"
A middle-aged man stood up.
This middle-aged man was none other than the president of the Divine Wind Empire’s largest trading house, the Divine Wind Trading House—one of the wealthiest magnates in the Empire.
"President Nie Dong, you’re too kind. Your Divine Wind Trading House is one of the top in the entire Empire. My daughter is just an uncultured, wild girl, so an introduction would be presumptuous!" Captain Tie Yan chuckled, a helpless look on his face. "Besides, my apologies, but my daughter is quite mischievous and I have no idea where she’s run off to now. When she returns, I’ll be sure to introduce her to all of you!"
Captain Tie Yan smiled and clasped his fist.
"Captain Tie Yan, you are too polite. In that case, we’ll take our leave for now. We’ll co visit another day..."
Nie Dong smiled and walked out. The remaining n nodded in unison and followed closely behind him.
"Hmph! A bunch of opportunists!"
Just as they left, a disgruntled snort ca from behind the main hall, and a slender female figure walked in.
It was Tie Lan. It seed she had been behind the hall the entire ti, not off sowhere unknown as Captain Tie Yan had claid!
"Lan’er, do not be rude!" Tie Yan chided upon hearing his daughter’s cold remark, though his face showed a look of helplessness.
"But it’s the truth! All of them—Nie Dong, Cao Dang, Zhang Jie... they all have a higher status than you, Father. A while ago, when our Iron Rock rcenary Corps was being crushed by the Luoyong rcenary Corps, we didn’t see them lift a finger. Now that Nie Yun has beco Emperor, they all show up. What do they want? Aren’t they just hoping I’ll put in a good word for them?"
Tie Lan pouted, her face full of disdain.
The news that she was close friends with His Majesty Nie Yun had been spread by soone, and in an instant, the Iron Rock rcenary Corps beca the most sought-after group in all of Divine Wind City.
Influential figures who had never associated with them before were now flocking over one after another, desperate to curry favor!
"Brother, did Nie Yun really beco the Emperor? I can hardly believe it. When I first t him, I thought he was just so pampered young master lusting after Lan’er’s beauty..." Tie Long, from the side, couldn’t help but ask.
Rembering the shy boy he’d t in the mountain forest over a month ago, Tie Long was utterly shaken and found it hard to believe.
"It’s not just you; even I can’t believe it! Although I knew from the first mont I saw him that he had a boundless future, I never could have imagined that in such a short ti, he would beco the Emperor of the Empire!" Tie Yan also shook his head, his face filled with shock.
The young man’s growth was simply too fast, far beyond anything they could have imagined.
"The Emperor of the Empire, Commander of the entire Empire... These people know our Iron Rock rcenary Corps has a good relationship with His Majesty, so of course they’re all rushing over to suck up to us!" Although Tie Long was inwardly displeased by their opportunism, he also knew that the Iron Rock rcenary Corps could use Nie Yun as a great tree to lean on for rapid developnt!
As the few of them were talking, a shout ca from outside, and a rcenary walked in.
"Reporting to the Captain, soone outside requests an audience. He says he’s a friend of Miss Tie Lan!"
’My friend?’ "Hmph, it must be another one trying to build connections. How annoying!" Tie Lan’s face filled with disgust upon hearing the rcenary’s words.
Every single one of these people who ca to build connections claid to be her friend, but in reality, she didn’t even know most of them!
That was why she had hidden behind the main hall and had her father say she wasn’t here.
"Anyone who cos at a ti like this is an important figure. Don’t be too angry!" Tie Yan gave a wry smile upon seeing his daughter’s expression.
He knew why his daughter was angry, but anyone who found out about the connection between His Majesty Nie Yun and their rcenary Corps this quickly had to be of high status. They absolutely could not afford to offend such a person!
"Well, I find it annoying anyway. I’m going back to my room. No matter who it is, just tell them I’m not here!" Tie Lan’s brow furrowed. She stood up and turned to walk toward her room.
"Heh heh, tell you’re not here? Am I really that annoying to you?"
Tie Lan hadn’t gotten far when she heard a light laugh from outside the hall, followed by the anxious shouts of the rcenary who had just left. "The Captain hasn’t given you permission to enter! You can’t just barge in..."
’That voice... Nie Yun?’
Hearing that familiar voice, Tie Lan froze. She imdiately jumped up and turned to look outside.
Sure enough, outside the hall, she saw the familiar figure from her mories, walking over with a wide smile.
"You can’t go in! Those are the rules of our rcenary Corps! If you don’t listen and take another step, don’t bla for getting rough..." The rcenary on guard duty, seeing the young man ignore his warning, blocked the way and fud.
"Cao Dang, cease your impudence! That is the current Emperor, His Majesty Nie Yun!"
Seeing his subordinate’s "diligent" display, Tie Long jumped in fright and quickly reprimanded him.
"What? His Majesty? His Majesty Nie Yun?"
The rcenary nad Cao Dang trembled all over, so scared he nearly fainted on the spot.
’I actually blocked His Majesty the Emperor from entering... This... I must have a death wish!’
