Tianxin City was situated on the farthest edge of the Divine Wind Empire. Its proximity to the coast blessed it with abundant resources, and with a Peak Powerhouse of Qi Sect watching over it, the city was far more prosperous than smaller towns like Luoshui City and Jibei City.
The mont they stepped into the city, Nie Yun noticed sothing unusual. Nearly everything for sale was a marine product. The valuable goods included black pearls, coral, the Inner Cores of Demon Beasts, and the finest crocodile skin for making armor. The cheaper items were ores, sulfur, salt, and ironware, all abundant from the ocean...
In short, all sorts of goods were available, and the rchants and custors hailed from every empire and city, creating an indescribably bustling atmosphere.
"We agreed to et at the Tianxin Inn. I expect they’ll arrive within a day or two."
After a short walk, a luxurious inn ca into view. It was none other than the largest hotel in Tianxin City: the Tianxin Inn!
"We’ve been flying for days. Let’s get sothing to eat," Baihua Xiu said, leading the way into the inn.
Like many large establishnts, the inn’s lower floors housed the most luxurious restaurant in all of Tianxin City. The clientele consisted mainly of wealthy rchants and powerful tycoons, and many locals considered it a great honor to dine here even once.
The mont the two of them entered the main hall, they caused a sensation. All eyes turned to look at them.
Despite flying for six or seven days straight, Baihua Xiu showed not a single trace of fatigue. Her ethereal, fairy-like aura filled the hall, completely unconcealed. It was a wonder she didn’t cause an outright panic.
"Look at that woman! She’s gorgeous!"
"She’s like a fairy fallen from the heavens! If I could just say a word to her, or get her to smile at , I’d die a happy man!"
"So beautiful... a true masterpiece of the heavens. When did our Tianxin City get a beauty like this? How have I never heard of her?"
"We’d better stop talking. With an otherworldly aura like that, her background must be extraordinary. You don’t want to bite off more than you can chew and end up in a world of trouble..."
The crowd murmured amongst themselves. Though stunned by Baihua Xiu’s beauty, no one was foolish enough to rush over and cause trouble.
After all, anyone who could afford to dine here was no fool. They knew who they could provoke and who they couldn’t. No one would believe that a woman so otherworldly and refined lacked status. Besides, without status or money, who would dare to eat here?
Ignoring the crowd’s chatter, Nie Yun and Baihua Xiu found an empty table by the window and sat down.
Nie Yun casually picked up a nu and glanced at it. The prices were indeed terrifyingly high. A simple al could easily cost ten to twenty thousand taels of silver.
’Ten to twenty thousand taels of silver... Based on the Nie Tian Branch’s old spending habits, that would have covered several years of expenses!’
But Nie Yun was now the Emperor of the Empire. The entire nation was his, so he couldn’t care less about such a small amount of money. He casually ordered a table full of dishes and began to eat heartily.
He had to admit, the food was exquisite. Many of the dishes were prepared from rare Demon Beasts. In terms of appearance, aroma, taste, and even their benefits for Cultivators, they were all extraordinary. No wonder so many wealthy people were willing to dine here. It was well worth the price!
"Would you like so wine?" Baihua Xiu asked suddenly as they were eating.
Wine was the most popular beverage on the Qi Sea Continent. Bold and forthright Cultivators especially enjoyed drinking during their als. When Nie Yun had first arrived in Divine Wind City, he had even treated Jiangg Xuan and Du Jin, two rcenaries from the Iron Rock rcenary Corps, to drinks.
"No, thank you. I rarely drink."
’Drinking clouds the mind.’ To maintain a clear head, Nie Yun had always avoided alcohol. The only ti he could rember getting drunk was when he and his best friend, the Divine Thief Qiang Huan, had stolen wine together.
"Do you know who our Empire’s number one genius is?"
"Who else could it be but Mo Yanqing? He reached the Qi Sect at twenty-two and the Ultimate Venerable Realm at thirty-one! He’s the youngest Ultimate Venerable expert in the history of the Divine Wind Empire!"
"Haha, that just shows how out of the loop you are! Let tell you, a while ago, a young man, not even seventeen years old, single-handedly thrashed Mo Yanqing! Not only that, he also beat the Royal Family’s old ancestor, Fengg Yu, and the Luo Family’s old ancestor, Luo Tianxiang, so badly they didn’t know which way was up! He’s already being called the number one genius in the world!"
"Not even seventeen? And he defeated Mo Yanqing, Fengg Yu, and Luo Tianxiang? Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"
"Of course I’m not! I just heard the news myself. Apparently, it caused a massive uproar in Divine Wind City. The man’s na is Nie Yun, and he’s a super-powerhouse at the Ultimate Venerable Peak before even turning seventeen!"
"An Ultimate Venerable Peak before seventeen? Th-that’s impossible!"
"For you, maybe. But who is Lord Nie Yun? He’s the greatest genius in the world! Of course he’s capable of that kind of power..."
Just as the two were discussing whether or not to have a drink, they overheard excited voices from the surrounding tables.
The pair’s conversation was not hushed in the slightest, and everyone in the restaurant heard it clearly.
"I never thought your na would be so famous, Nie Yun. It’s only been a few days, and even the most remote towns in the Empire know it."
Baihua Xiu shook her head and chuckled softly.
It had to be said that ever since Baihua Xiu’s personality had changed after comprehending the Way of Sentints, she had grown even more beautiful. Her every frown and smile seed perfectly natural, capable of captivating any soul.
"It seems I underestimated how fast news travels," Nie Yun said with a wry smile, hearing the beauty’s teasing words.
’It hasn’t even been half a month since my battle with Mo Yanqing, Fengg Yu, and Luo Tianxiang in Divine Wind City. For the news to have reached such a remote place already... the speed is truly astonishing!’
"Haha! Did you hear that? This guy actually claims to be Lord Nie Yun! What a shaless boast!"
A young man at the nearest table suddenly shot to his feet, pointed at Nie Yun and Baihua Xiu, and burst out laughing.
"Let tell you, Lord Nie Yun is my idol! If you dare to impersonate him again, I won’t be so polite!" the young man huffed, turning on his heel to leave.
Hearing himself being scolded for impersonating himself, Nie Yun was left speechless. He instantly lost his appetite.
"Let’s just get our rooms. I won’t be coming out for the next few days. Just let know when everyone has arrived."
With that, he stood up, called for the Shopkeeper, and headed toward the lodging area of the inn.
"Mm," Baihua Xiu smiled, pursing her lips at the young man’s reaction, and followed behind him.
"Shopkeeper, we’d like two private courtyards," Nie Yun said.
In a large inn like this, the best rooms were private courtyards, which gave guests their own personal space for private Cultivation.
"My apologies, but our private courtyards are not open to the public. They are reserved for the Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses who pass through Tianxin City. Perhaps you could select one of our other rooms," the Shopkeeper said, his brow furrowing slightly as he looked at Nie Yun, though his tone remained polite.
’Reserved for Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses passing through Tianxin City?’ Nie Yun was taken aback. He never expected an inn to have such a rule.
"Shopkeeper, give a private courtyard." Just as they were speaking, the sa young man who had mocked Nie Yun walked back over.
"Of course, Young Master. Please, follow ," the Shopkeeper said with a look of reverence, turning to lead the way.
"Heh," the young man said. Following behind the Shopkeeper, he shot a glance back at Nie Yun, the corner of his lip curling into a provocative smirk.
"Shopkeeper, wait a mont!" Before Nie Yun could speak, Baihua Xiu, who could no longer stand by and watch, cut in. "Didn’t you just say the private courtyards were reserved for visiting Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses? This person hardly seems to be an Ultimate Venerable!"
Baihua Xiu was, after all, an Ultimate Venerable Peak Powerhouse and the Baihua Sect Master. To be disregarded so brazenly made her beautiful brows furrow in displeasure.
’That young man is only at the Body Ergence Realm. If he can have a private courtyard, why can’t two bona fide Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses like us?’
"He is the City Lord’s son, so of course he can stay there. If the two of you aren’t happy about it, you can find lodging elsewhere. The Tianxin Inn doesn’t welco you!" The Shopkeeper, not expecting an outsider to dare rebuke him, snorted coldly.
"Insolence! We are both Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses, and we will be staying in a private courtyard today. You’ll give us one whether you want to or not!"
With a flick of her sleeve, the Baihua Sect Master unleashed her aura. The mighty pressure of an Ultimate Venerable Peak expert washed over them like a tidal wave.
"Y-You’re an Ultimate Venerable? Do... do you have an Ultimate Venerable Order?" The Shopkeeper staggered back a step under the oppressive aura, his face paling.
Tianxin City was near the Endless Ocean, and it wasn’t rare for Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses to visit. However, soone of the Shopkeeper’s caliber was hardly worthy of an Ultimate Venerable Powerhouse releasing their full pressure. Thus, even though he found the white-robed woman’s aura astonishing, he couldn’t be certain.
Upon reaching the realm of an Ultimate Venerable Powerhouse, the Seven Great Empires would jointly issue an Ultimate Venerable Order to signify their status. This token granted them treatnt far superior to ordinary people anywhere they went. The Royal Family of the Divine Wind Empire had the authority to issue such tokens, but Nie Yun had wiped them out, so he had naturally never seen one. As for Baihua Xiu, with her level of power, she wouldn’t bother carrying around sothing so trivial. Thus, when the Shopkeeper asked, both of them were montarily stunned.
"No Ultimate Venerable Order ans you’re no Ultimate Venerable! The Divine Wind Empire only has a handful of them. For two brats who don’t know their place to dare impersonate one... you’re courting death! n, seize these two charlatans for !"
Seeing that Nie Yun and Baihua Xiu couldn’t produce an Ultimate Venerable Order, the City Lord’s son shouted the command.
Nie Yun was already young, and Baihua Xiu, thanks to her youth-retaining arts, looked to be only eighteen or nineteen. Standing together, they looked like a pair of teenagers. It was indeed hard for anyone to believe they were Ultimate Venerables.
"Yes, Young Master!"
As soon as the shout faded, a dozen or so guards sward out from the surroundings and encircled Nie Yun and Baihua Xiu.
It seed these guards had been secretly protecting the young master, and at his command, they all revealed themselves.
"What is going on here?"
Just as the two great Ultimate Venerable Powerhouses—the two most powerful individuals in the Divine Wind Empire—found themselves surrounded by a group of lowly guards, unsure whether to laugh or cry, a cold shout suddenly rang out from behind the crowd. A middle-aged man with a dignified air and imposing brow strode forward.
"Father, these two dared to impersonate Ultimate Venerables and even slandered my idol, Lord Nie Yun! According to the law, they should be paraded through the streets in sha!" the City Lord’s son said, rushing to greet him.
The newcor was indeed the young man’s father, the City Lord of Tianxin City.
"Impersonating an Ultimate Venerable? I’d like to see who has such audacity!" the middle-aged man snapped. He turned to look at Nie Yun and Baihua Xiu, but after just one glance, his entire body began to tremble. His knees buckled, and he dropped to the ground. A quavering voice escaped his trembling lips.
"This... this subordinate... Yimo... of Tianxin City... pays his respects... to Your Majesty!" (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to co to Qidian (qidian) and vote for recomndations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
