Seeing Li Xin’s interest, Bai Peng imdiately perked up.

"Nalan and Hong Ban, that’s the delicate one and the stubborn one, along with Yan Tianguang, Isaiah, Freeman and Sima Mu, Ao Luofeng is at the Moonshade Canon Law School, Lei Jiu is at the Windchi Canon Law School, after Nalan left that place, he went to Peak Pond. Luck is really on his side, he is highly likely to beco the next president."

Nalan... which one is the delicate one? Li Xin couldn’t quite rember; perhaps he’d recollect if he t them. Back then, they were just a group of kids; now who knows what they look like.

"What about the others?" Li Xin asked.

"They’re scattered across the other Canon Law Schools. Want to gather them for a reunion? Old Jiu still reminisces about you when he’s drunk," Bai Peng asked.

Actually, mory isn’t very clear, Li Xin waved his hand, "No need for that, my visit to Serenity is coincidental; I’m mainly here to study."

Bai Peng’s eyes flashed with a hint of regret, "Alright, let’s not dwell on this. Co, another toast to Brother Li!"

After the al, Lu Shuai and Huerta voluntarily offered to escort Li Xin back.

Bai Peng watched the figures of the three receding, the liquor still lingered, but the mind was now clear.

"Boss, what’s the deal with this guy? Why do you hold him in such high regard?" Surte couldn’t help but ask.

"He’s soone who might be able to change the situation, but alas, it’s challenging." Bai Peng sighed lightly, "Things will unfold over ti."

Li Xin didn’t stay at the Canon Law School; Lu Shuai called a carriage to take him back.

"Brother Li, are you close with Bai Peng?" Lu Shuai asked.

"Not really, we just stayed in the sa place once, had so interactions, but that was a long ti ago," Li Xin thought for a mont, "Bai Peng’s situation should allow him entry into the Divine Revelation Canon Law School, right?"

Lu Shuai nodded, "Yes, President Chen put in a great effort to bring him in; need him to uphold the banner of Serenity’s spiritual abilities and martial arts."

"Bai Peng is a mber of the Justice faction, right?"

"Yes, a genuine Justice mber." Lu Shuai smiled, "Upper Council mber—a lifelong pinnacle for many."

"Which faction are you part of?"

"Justice faction, but the Lower Council is just a pawn with no autonomy in major affairs." Lu Shuai said, his expression a bit unnatural.

The Lu Family has deep ties with the Potter Family, the Potter Family is a bastion of the Free faction, yet Lu Shuai joined the Justice faction. It seems the Potter Family doesn’t rely disdain him; they outright reject him.

"What kind of people are Nalan and Hong Ban?" Li Xin asked.

"Nine major officials of the Black Rose, young council mbers, called the Nine Dragons in the Canon Law Schools, with backgrounds and abilities worth ntioning. From the spiritual ability perspective, there’s Nalan’s sword, Hong Ban’s fist, Lei Jiu’s gun, Yan Tianguang’s blade—a craft, unparalleled. Nalan is the heir of Peak Pond, recognized by the Holy Land, and is pretty much set to marry the Princess; a life winner. Hong Ban is essentially his only rival, the future successor of the Justice faction, but from the current perspective, posing little threat to Nalan."

Li Xin pondered for a mont; his grandfather is a strong contender for the next Grand Governor and the Potter Family inherited most of Luthor’s political and economic legacy. If he also marries into the royal family, forget the Grand Governor; thinking with a past-life mindset, this ga is played really big.

After all, rules are made to be broken.

Lu Shuai leaned against the carriage compartnt, "Damn, I consider myself handso enough, but this guy’s aura indeed surpasses. He’s taken my path, alas, every ti I close my eyes I wish to have a protagonist script like that."

Li Xin almost wanted to say that protagonists generally don’t get scripts like that, but it seems in life, protagonists actually do get those kinds.

"Heard that Old Bai, Ao Luofeng, Lei Jiu are pretty close, and Hong Ban seems incompatible with them, but still hoping Hong Ban can defeat Nalan," Lu Shuai said, "Not entering Divine Revelation ans giving up the chance to compete for the president of the General Assembly, Brother Li, do you know them?"

After this al, Lu Shuai needed to gather information before putting on airs.

Li Xin thought carefully, "I probably know them, but it was many years ago, actually, all this enthusiasm isn’t truly genuine."

Even Bai Peng’s enthusiasm was half-genuine half-false. Thinking back, even with a lifeti’s mory one could sense how impressive these kids were back at the Secret Castle.

"Alas, entering Dragon Capital is as deep as the sea—I really want to know how the Grand Governor broke through such predicants step by step to reach the pinnacle." Lu Shuai said with so sentint.

"Could it be that you’re just missing the other half of destiny?" Li Xin chuckled, "I believe in you."

Lu Shuai grinned, brushed his hair, "Haha, indeed, Luthor once said golden scales aren’t things within the pond; eting the storm, they transform into dragons. I need to quickly find my storm."

For so reason, a line popped into Li Xin’s head: You’re the wind, I’m the fool...

Li Xin returned ho, only to see Xueyin standing in the corner being scolded. Aunt Fei was furious, hands on hips, Xueyin lowered her head looking cautious, but was actually playing with her fingers.

Li Xin cautiously greeted and hurried back to his room, sitting in front of the typewriter, tapping away, slowly getting into the zone, the room filled only with the clacking sound of the typewriter; diligence brings excellence, idleness brings ruin; just like how the Great Wall was built brick by brick.

When evening ca, Lin Fei and Xueyin went to bed, Li Xin closed the door firmly and threw the dice.

The usage of dice doesn’t necessarily require throwing, but doing so brings a sense of ritual, seemingly increasing the success rate a bit.

"The whole case isn’t a murder."

The dice rolled giving a verdict, nine points.

Li Xin also realized the direction of the case had changed; these people aren’t victims, aning it’s preditated, no curse involved, hence it’s not ordinary humans.

Then what could it be?

It’s hard to say, but one thing is certain—they need a disguise to appear human, a definitive disguise.

"These things are using disguises."

Li Xin made a second verdict, the dice showed a seven-point verdict, successful again—it’s either disguises or disguise-like abilities.

Then that’s strange; investigation reveals these impersonators haven’t made any extre moves, seemingly just living, then suddenly dying—what are their intentions?

Li Xin thought and fell asleep, next morning, he headed to Shadow Owl and saw ng Po knitting a sweater, eting the morning sun. With Shadow Owl’s good salary, why not buy one?

"Morning, Li Yinxiao."

"Morning, Sister ng." Li Xin smiled, "Morning, Tang Gao."

Li Xin greeted, ng Po shook the yarn, which had a child connected; Tang Gao felt the motion, looked up with a smile, then continued playing with blocks obediently.

Li Xin went straight to the archives, started reorganizing the case files. If it’s not murder, the perspective changes—need to find the commonalities of these cases anew.
