Li ngnan stepped up without hesitation, stretching an arm in front of Du Yu to shield him behind her.

Li ngnan whispered back, "Then let’s get close and ambush her!"
Du Yu thought for a mont, then said, "Right now, we’re Demon Beast Commanders. If this Water Charm Illusion Spirit doesn’t attack us first, then she’s our teammate. When we run into the Human Army, she’ll help us kill enemies."
Li ngnan nodded thoughtfully, "Mm... that’s true."
"Don’t make a sound, let’s go." Du Yu pushed Li ngnan to the wall, signaling her to move forward.
Li ngnan tightened her grip on her longsword, pinched the brim of her hood lower, bowed her head, and walked forward.
Du Yu followed closely behind. The closer they got to the crookedly standing female soldier, the clearer the woman’s sobbing beca.

Li ngnan kept her head down, heart thumping wildly. Her footsteps picked up pace as she walked past along the wall.
Then, Du Yu also brushed past the crying female soldier.
The female soldier covered her face, that crimson eye peeking between her fingers, tracking the pair as they walked away...
The whole scene was the epito of eerie!
"Phew~" After walking a good distance, Li ngnan finally let out a relieved breath, pressing a hand to her chest, "Scared the hell out of , it would’ve been easier if we’d just fought her!"
"Shh!" Du Yu hushed, urgently saying, "Listen!"
Li ngnan tensed up instinctively, then caught the sound of the Stone Gate sliding: "Soone’s heading down to the second floor!"
"Aaaahhh!"—Right as Li ngnan finished, a Water Charm Illusion Spirit’s scream echoed from further ahead.
That wasn’t crying, but a shrill scream!
"Move!" Du Yu urgently pushed Li ngnan. The two of them dashed forward. Far behind, the female soldier clearly heard the noise too. She slowly turned around, staggering after them.
The tails of their black cloaks fluttered as they quickly reached the next intersection. Not far ahead, before the Stone Gate, a female soldier was leaning sideways, stretching desperately through the door gap, grabbing crazily at the air outside.
"Ah!" The female soldier howled miserably, though it was unclear what forced her back. As she stumbled, her hand already vanished.
Imdiately, two tree vines shot through the door gap, winding neatly around the female soldier’s body, yanking her back to the door.
With a dull "thud", since the Stone Gate was opening slowly, the female soldier wasn’t pulled all the way out, but instead jamd in the door gap.
Next mont, a gale howled and crackling bolts of lightning flickered through the gap.
"So many people!" Instead of worry, Du Yu was delighted, scurrying forward while communicating via Contract to Xiaoyan, "Spark Splash, quick, Spark Splash!"
Li ngnan moved just as sneakily, tailing close behind.
"Aaaah!" The gap finally widened enough, and the female soldier was yanked out by the vines—her body already torn apart, unable to resist, on the verge of dissolving into mist.

That Fireball exploded hard on the floor behind the door, instantly blasting four people away. Even the six on the staircase further back were heavily affected—their Demon Breath Battle Robes quaked wildly!
Most competitors were Demon Tar Journeyn, just recently promoted. There’s no way Second Level Demon Breath Battle Robes could withstand a Third Level Demon Skill assault!
And among this size of a team, a few Demon Tar Prentices had tagged along, seeking their companions’ protection to complete the task.
A single Spark Splash left a huge pile out cold behind the door!

The Human Army—with n and demon pets—were all blown away, the sound of shattering Demon Breath Battle Robes echoing wildly!
Shrill, agonized screams rang without end, and the sll of burnt flesh filled the air...
"Ying!" Xiaoyan raised her little head, letting out a chirp, her beautiful golden-brown fox eyes glimring with pride.
Du Yu sprang to his feet, gripping the Ghost Firefly Torch and charging through the door: "Ghost Firefly Blow!"
Fla streaks shot out with Wind Pillars, sweeping the wailing humans and demon pets already writhing, sending them flying once more—ramming them into corners tight along the wall.
Du Yu was wielding the torch like a flathrower, charging as the vanguard, seizing the mont to finish off the weakened!
Kind as he was, he didn’t burn the howling people and pets at his feet, but strode over the sprawled competitors, bounding up the stairs.
The contestants further upstairs suffered less, with three huddling by the wall, escaping the Spark Splash’s blast.
But seeing the Fire Pillar blast past, none dared attack—instead, they turned and fled!

"Run, run!" Du Yu dashed up the stairs, tracked their voices, and sprayed fire leftward!

He glared hatefully at the black-cloaked back, rage flaring, driven to violence!
Just as Du Yu sensed the danger and lunged away...
"Whoosh~"—A sudden gale swept through!
The enraged youth with the blade was blown away, crashing brutally into the corridor wall.
Another black-cloaked figure burst up from below, moving lightning-fast—a tense-legged leap, a sword thrust out.

Li ngnan’s sword pierced through the youth’s abdon, nailing him to the wall!

Li ngnan yanked free her sword, stepped back, the youth nailed to the wall slumping to the floor, writhing in agony, howling in pain.
She glanced back, just in ti to see Du Yu turning to look her way. Li ngnan pouted, complaining, "Would you slow down? Next ti let charge first!"
Du Yu looked all obedient, nodding repeatedly, "Mhm, mhm..."
The soldiers who rushed up were a bit stunned by the scene in front of them.
The corridor—especially before the Stone Gate—was strewn with bodies, not a single Demon Tar or demon pet spared!
As they hurried to rescue survivors, a soldier glanced back at the two black-cloaked figures.
Both black-cloaked figures kept their heads down, hoods on, briskly walking away, leaving only their backs—and the way their cloak tails rippled as they strode forward...
"Damn," the soldier couldn’t help grinning wryly.
With combat power like that, can other competitors even stop them? No wonder they’re the handpicked Commanders...
The Human Army is probably dood.
