Now reading: Chapter 203 - 160: Goblins and Slimes from I Have a Sailing Game, a Fantasy novel by Useless Beggar Scholar.

"The Second Prince is still better, possessing exceptional governance abilities and good relations with the Royal Ministers. Besides... it’s not like the Ninth didn’t suffer before. What if the First Prince, like the Ninth, gets reckless and takes the Royal Fleet on an adventure?"

"Haven’t you considered the Third Prince?"

"Him? Just returned a month ago, such an irresponsible Prince with no sense of duty, as if Odaqiro’s Sword would ever choose him!"

A few citizens gathered to discuss.

Among them, one suddenly glanced into the distance and quickly patted the person next to him.

"Look over there, it’s those guys from the Yonghe Sect again!"

"What do they want us to protect this ti, or what not to eat? Beans? Or is it onions?"

"I’m curious why there are still fat people in their sect?"

"Maybe it’s so reincarnated pig. After all, only pigs get fat on a vegetarian diet, hahaha..."

Their target of ridicule was a group of people in green robes, earnestly preaching to the public.

And the Yonghe Sect wasn’t the only church like this; there were many others, each with strange and peculiar beliefs.

Islands, skies, Giant Dragons, these are still considered normal.

So smaller churches believe in bizarre things like pumpkins.

"The Royal City... has it always been like this?"

At this mont, Rogel had changed his appearance, becoming an unremarkable ordinary citizen, questioning a mysterious person disguised similarly.

"It wasn’t before, but it is now."

The mysterious person responded.

"The religious forces led by the Mother Goddess Church are secretly spreading Extraordinary Knowledge related to faith. They aim to turn the islanders of the Five Major Seas into fields of belief."

He looked at the believers superficially preaching their doctrines, his eyes subtly lowering.

"Thus, they continuously marginalize ordinary Extraordinaries, judging them as Witch Demons, creating a gap in Extraordinary Knowledge."

"It’s becoming increasingly difficult for Extraordinaries to survive in the Five Major Seas."

Upon hearing this, Rogel turned to look at him: "So, is there still an Alchemist in the Royal City now?"

"Yes, one."

The mysterious person replied, "It’s within our organization."

"The remaining Alchemists are either in the Sea of Sin or have left the Five Major Seas."

"They are key targets for the Church to either recruit or find ways to eliminate."

Only when the Extraordinaries disappear will they, as ssengers of the divine, appear sacred, and the divine will remain exalted...

Rogel instantly realized one of the Church’s purposes in doing so.

It’s evident just by thinking about it.

The Church’s propaganda to the civilians is that the divine can bring miracles and hope, and their own prayer power can achieve this.

But if so Extraordinaries can do this without faith in the divine, doesn’t it make the Church look incompetent?

Therefore, over many years, the Church has relentlessly vilified and demonized the Extraordinaries, eventually resulting in the notion that those with Extraordinary Power are Witch Demons and Witches, needing to be judged and sent to the stake.

Of course, their smooth execution of this is inseparable from the inherently scarce number of Extraordinaries in the Five Major Seas.

"Once you et the Shadow Leader, he should tell you more secrets."

The mysterious person said.

"Shadow Leader?" Rogel was sowhat surprised, "My purpose here is not to et him."

His purposes here are nurous: firstly, to communicate and learn from the lone Alchemist within the Shadow of the Divine Descendant; secondly, to see if he can find the compatible Magic Potion for the last crew mber, Noemi.

And there’s also the matter of taking back the Tear Crystal of the Book-Storage Eye.

Upon hearing Rogel’s words, the mysterious person smiled and turned to say sothing to him.

"You’re already here."

... Alright.

Rogel was a bit speechless but had to admit that what this guy said made sense.

Since he was already here, eting the Shadow Leader wouldn’t hurt.

Perhaps he might even reveal more secrets of the Extraordinary world to him.
