Now reading: Chapter 97: Wind and Rain from I Have a Sailing Game, a Fantasy novel by Useless Beggar Scholar.

After clearing most of the monsters on the Road of Abandoned Bones, his mana was nearly depleted, and his health had also taken a hit due to experinting with the shell relics.

The monsters dispatched by the Dead Abandoned Heavy Cavalry to the base of the Abandoned Bone Cliff had also been wiped out by him.

Now, the Road of Abandoned Bones was an empty stretch, with only so bones and equipnt fragnts left behind.

Rogel finally reached the end of the Road of Abandoned Bones.

However, when he saw what lay before him, he couldn’t help but be shocked.

The screen, in the ga perspective, began to zoom out.

A massive, whirlpool-like pit made of yellow and white bones appeared in front of Rogel.

[Wraith Pit]

An alert also appeared at the top of the screen.

No monsters were nearby now.

They were likely attracted by the commotion Rogel caused earlier and were taken out.

Rogel approached the pit’s edge and took a look down.

It was bottomless.

At the edge of the pit, there was a chanism, a giant hand bone bound by chains, serving as a lift.

"Even without tendons, the way these bones can stay connected is fascinating."

Rogel clicked his tongue in wonder.

After examining the pit, he decided not to explore further and took out the Key instead.

His current condition wasn’t great.

The pit below looked perilous, possibly even housing a boss, so it would be wiser to return once he was in peak condition.

...

Back on the Gelin.

Rogel was preparing to forge so tal in the smithy.

Suddenly, he heard the rain outside and the voices of Yas and others.

Curious, Rogel opened the door and went out.

Drizzle was falling from the sky, the wind was strong, and the air was filled with the scent of the sea.

Rumble.

Thunder rumbled distantly in the sky.

This was the worst weather Rogel had encountered since setting sail.

Yas and Lina were busily adjusting the sails and jigger.

[Rogel, co over here and help.]

[Also, call out your little Bone Spirit too.]

Seeing Rogel, Lina quickly called him over to assist.

Rogel wouldn’t just stand by, so he promptly summoned the Bone Spirit to help.

Mira sat in her wheelchair, anxious.

In tis like these, she cursed her body’s peculiar illness more than ever.

With everyone’s efforts, the Gelin quickly stabilized.

Fortunately, this ti it was just ordinary wind and rain, not much of a threat to the ship.

Although the Gelin was still a bit bumpy under the influence of the waves, it wasn’t in any real danger.

Rogel switched to True Perspective.

The sky was filled with thick, dark clouds that looked like a drenched black towel, solemn and heavy.

The rain was blown askew by the sea wind, hitting his cheeks and dripping off his chin onto the deck.

He felt a bit touched.

Soone living inland, like him, had never witnessed such a scene firsthand.

At most, he had only glimpsed it through short videos and films.

Thankfully, with such a magical experience, he could personally appreciate the allure of the boundless sea.

Words failed to describe such an experience.

"We might have already entered the intersection of the Harmony Sea Area and the Giant Claw Sea Area."

"The weather in the Giant Claw Sea Area is much harsher than in the Harmony Sea Area; this wind and rain is just child’s play."

Lina gathered her rain-drenched hair and looked at the splashing rain as she spoke.

"In two or three days, we should reach a small island at the boundary where we can rest."

Rogel said.

As the captain, he had morized the navigation maps.

There are several small islands at the intersection of the Harmony Sea Area and the Giant Claw Sea Area.

Yas nodded upon hearing this.

The at he bought earlier was almost all gone, and so of it had begun to spoil.

Luckily, Rogel had caught a lot of seafood before, and he himself caught so, barely supporting everyone.

Yas believed Rogel silently had his back.

What he didn’t know was, even if Rogel didn’t feed the Blood Sludge Giant for a couple of days, it would still make fruits obediently.

"We should have reached here yesterday."

Lina said irritably.

The reason they only got here today...

Rogel scratched his head awkwardly and gave a sidelong glance at the Bone Spirit next to him.

Crack!

The Bone Spirit, misunderstanding Rogel’s look, stood at attention, chest out proudly.

"...Did you think I was praising you?"

Seeing this, Rogel’s blood pressure surged, his face darkened, and he gave its head a tap.

The Bone Spirit’s head fell off.

But it quickly caught its head, put it back on, still maintaining its proud stance.

"Hahaha!"

Mira couldn’t help but laugh.

Lina and Yas also had to suppress their laughter; this little bone was too amusing.

"Lina, you take Mira back to the room first, Yas and I will keep watch here."

Rogel said.

Though the Crimson Fruit could replenish her health, Mira’s body was still frail.

It wouldn’t be good if she caught a cold.

Lina didn’t refuse, nodding. As the first mate and a doctor, she was best suited to care for Mira.

After pushing Mira into the room, Rogel and Yas worked while chatting.

In True Perspective, Yas appeared even more robust, his appearance slightly weathered, and with his recent unshaven beard, he had a handso mature vibe.

"Yas, how old are you again?"

Rogel casually asked.

"21."

Yas threw an unfortunate octopus washed onto the deck by the waves aside and continued to gather the sails.

Surprised, Rogel looked at him seriously, feeling that this mature-faced man didn’t resemble a 21-year-old.

He didn’t think so when Yas didn’t have much facial hair before.

But now, with his beard growing, he’d surely be mistaken for Mira’s father if they went out together.

Just as Rogel was about to ask Yas another question, he suddenly heard a faint voice amidst the wind.

"Help... Help... glug glug..."

Surprised, Rogel approached the deck’s edge and looked out in the direction of the sound.

In the distance, he saw soone struggling and calling for help amidst the churning waves.

Yas also noticed.

But he remained silent, awaiting Rogel’s decision.

He wasn’t the kind of person who helped everyone in distress.

Of course, if Rogel decided to help, that’s different.

Rogel naturally intended to rescue him.

No particular reason, just a display of a new generation’s friendly ethics.

However, when Rogel wanted to hand his clothes to Yas and jump in himself, Yas stopped him.

"Let ."

Yas said steadily.

He knew that leaving it to Rogel, an Extraordinary, would be easier.

But as a crew mber, this was his duty.

While Rogel could help, this was sothing Yas had to do.

Seeing his determined expression, Rogel thought for a mont before nodding.

As the captain, he naturally trusted his crew; if Yas volunteered, it ant he had confidence.

Besides, as a captain, he couldn’t hog all the tasks, could he?

Splash.

Yas dove into the sea, quickly swimming towards the person.

In such a windy and rainy day, it wasn’t easy to redirect the Gelin, and that person might be pushed further by the wind and surging waves, so diving in was the only option.

Rogel watched intently, ready to assist at any ti.
