"How was your National Day holiday?"
Qin Yun walked over, smiling.
"Not too good." Xiao Lan thought for a mont and said, "There was nothing to do except play on my phone every day."
In high school, there were tons of howork even during long vacations. But in college, if you don’t want to study, it’s basically a few years of play until you graduate.
The two chatted about so of the events that happened during the National Day holiday.
When Xiao Lan heard that Qin Yun had opened three more stores, she couldn’t help but be surprised.
"Qin Yun, you’re amazing!" she couldn’t help but say.
"I just like opening stores," Qin Yun said with a smile.
As he was speaking, his expression suddenly changed slightly, and he quickly stepped forward to grab Xiao Lan.
After holding her, soone riding a bicycle almost fell to the ground.
"Sorry, sorry!" The cyclist was a girl who looked about sixteen or seventeen, and she quickly apologized to Qin Yun and Xiao Lan.
"How can you ride like that?" Qin Yun frowned.
These young girls were recklessly riding their bikes on the sidewalk.
"Forget it, Qin Yun." Xiao Lan was also startled, but seeing the girl apologizing non-stop, she shook her head and said.
The girl apologized a couple more tis and then hurried away, as if she had sothing urgent to attend to.
Xiao Lan was about to say sothing but suddenly froze, realizing that Qin Yun was still holding her hand. Instantly, she felt her face heat up, and her heart started racing.
Qin Yun also realized it. He had grabbed her hand in the heat of the mont. Now he felt a bit awkward, having been single for eighteen years.
Her small hand felt soft, like holding a piece of cotton candy.
Neither of them said anything, and Qin Yun didn’t let go.
In fact, for over a month, they had been chatting almost every day and would hang out whenever they had ti, and they both understood each other’s feelings.
They walked slowly down the street. Sensing Xiao Lan’s nervousness, Qin Yun suddenly smiled and said, "Ahem, the weather’s nice today."
He cleared his throat to break the awkward silence.
"Yes, it’s nice." Xiao Lan nodded sullenly.
She didn’t know what to say.
She wanted to remind Qin Yun to let go of her hand but didn’t want to say it.
After about five minutes, they encountered several stone pillars ahead, which required a single-file passage, forcing Qin Yun to let go of Xiao Lan.
At this mont, he felt a sense of loss.
The awkwardness lingered, but in a matter of seconds, as they reached a spot and looked ahead, Xiao Lan’s eyes suddenly lit up.
"Hey? A hoop toss ga?"
Qin Yun also looked over and, curious, asked, "Xiao Lan, are you interested in this?"
"Of course."
Xiao Lan said with a grin, "I’ve won before, so whenever I see it, I’ll give it a try."
"Sir, how much does it cost?"
She directly walked over to inquire.
The owner was a skinny man, holding dozens of hoops of various colors in his left arm.
Upon hearing Xiao Lan’s question, the owner said with a smile, "Twenty yuan for ten hoops, and a ring around the nose counts."
In front was a big area with plush toys on the ground: Big Bad Wolf, little bunnies, Paw Patrol puppies, Peppa Pig, and other small toys in the front rows, while bigger toys were in the back.
Xiao Lan bought ten hoops and waited.
There were about a dozen people watching. An older man seed to have bought quite a few hoops and kept tossing them. Beside him was a girl under ten years old, cheering, "Go, Daddy, go!"
But after tossing several hoops, he still hadn’t hit one.
"This guy has tossed seventy hoops and still hasn’t hit that raccoon."
"That’s so dedication."
So people were discussing around.
"Daddy." The little girl tugged at her father’s clothing, almost on the verge of tears after seeing him miss.
The older man just felt a headache; he had already spent 140 yuan and still had nothing to show for it.
"Boss, can you sell that raccoon? My daughter loves it. Her previous one broke, and I haven’t found another the sa. I’ll pay you twenty yuan." The man pleaded to the owner.
He had been looking for this toy for a long ti without success, and finding it here had made his daughter incredibly happy, insisting on having it. But his luck wasn’t favoring him.
"Yeah, boss, he’s already spent over a hundred yuan. The child loves it; just sell it to him."
"It seems like he’ll never hit it with more tries."
"It’s just a small toy; the cost is probably no more than ten yuan."
So bystanders chid in.
"Not for sale, not for sale,"
The owner was unmoved, smiling, "I have rules here. All plush toys must be won; buy one and the rules get broken."
"Daddy."
Hearing the owner’s words, the little girl started crying, clinging to her father’s hand.
"Be good, Yueyue. Daddy will keep trying." Seeing his daughter cry, the middle-aged man squatted down to comfort her.
He gritted his teeth and bought another ten hoops. His salary wasn’t high, and he’d spent more than a day’s wage on this.
Not far away, Qin Yun and Xiao Lan watched.
Clearly, the owner was trying to make more money. Yet, they couldn’t intervene or make decisions for others.
"Qin Yun, I’ll give it a try," Xiao Lan said, stepping forward after the middle-aged man, attempting to win the toy.
She mostly aid near the raccoon, but failed to ring even one with all ten hoops thrown.
Subsequently, the little girl’s father tried again but still couldn’t win.
"These toys are too hard to get."
"I’ve watched for an hour, and this owner has made over 600 yuan, yet only four plush toys have been won."
"It’s a money-maker."
People around continued to chatter.
"Qin Yun, it’s impossible. Let’s go," Xiao Lan sighed.
Yet, Qin Yun did not move. Instead, he said, "I’ll give it a try."
He stepped forward and said, "Boss, give fifty hoops."
"Qin Yun, are you really going to play this?" Xiao Lan, seeing him buy so many hoops, warned, "These things are really hard to win."
She knew Qin Yun had not played these gas before.
"It’s okay, just buying for fun," Qin Yun replied with a smile.
The owner, delighted for the big sale, smiled broadly, took his hundred yuan and handed over fifty hoops to Qin Yun.
Looking at the plush toys in front of him, Qin Yun tossed out a hoop with his right hand.
This hoop had a bit too much force, landing on the face of a large brown bear toy, barely touching its nose.
"Wow, it landed!"
"Amazing, got it on the first try!"
Instantly, so bystanders exclaid in surprise.
Qin Yun looked at it and asked, "Boss, does that count as landing it?"
The owner ca over and inspected it carefully, yet he shook his head with a smile and said, "No, no, it doesn’t count. It needs to be fully ringed on the nose; yours only touched it a bit, that doesn’t count."
