"Indeed, just as the rumors said, almost unbelievably arrogant,"

Suddenly, a bald head popped out from the crowd. To be honest, Zhang nglong almost laughed aloud; those who understood, understood.

However, the aura emanating from this bald man was not to be underestimated—he was a truly proficient magician, far stronger than any magician Zhang nglong had encountered before.

"Your information might not be entirely accurate," Zhang nglong chuckled, "I'm not arrogant, I'm reckless!"

"The heritage of Ainos is with you, right?"

"Take a guess?"

"No need to guess, let's capture them first. A little mind probe will reveal all their mories." Another Great Magician chid in from the side.

A few sentences and the atmosphere at the scene suddenly beca extrely tense; everyone had their hidden intentions. To them, Zhang nglong and his companions were three big fishes, from whom even a shred of treasure would be invaluable.

"Kid, need so help?"

Not far away, a group of magicians wearing hooded cloaks erged from the shadows of a forest.

"Dark Magicians!"

"They're here too!"

"This is trouble!"

Upon seeing this group, even the Great Magicians showed signs of fear.

Let's not ntion the severe conflicts between them and the Dark Magicians; these people were nothing short of lunatics. Once provoked, they would stick to you like glue, making sure you lived in perpetual terror.

Soone once said, better to provoke a raging Warcraft than a Dark Magician. If they're not your match, unless you kill them, they'll have a thousand ways to disgust you.

Once, a magician provoked a Dark Magician. Though their strength was comparable, he could only defeat but not kill him.

Afterward, his life beca a nightmare.

Every midnight while he slept, his residence beca a haunted house. Every al, the food on his table morphed into gross insects and rotten flesh. Sotis, even the water during his bath turned into blood.

Eventually, the magician went insane.

...

"Brother Zhang, that's an elder from the Dark Magician Association; I've seen him on a wanted list. He's also an interdiate Great Magician," Raditz whispered into Zhang nglong's ear.

"How much is he worth?"

"Uh... you always have such a peculiar focus..."

"Kid, I've heard about you from Drake. Your situation is very much to our liking. How about we make a deal?" that elder of the Dark Magicians Association proposed, "We take half of the heritage of Ainos you received, and we help you escape."

"You do have a point," Zhang nglong smiled.

It sounded like opportunistic exploitation, but from another angle, protecting Zhang nglong would cost them dearly—after all, the number of magicians here was no less than these Dark Magicians.

But they only asked for half of the heritage as compensation. Comparing to others who demanded the entire legacy, this indeed seed quite reasonable.

Indeed, every industry needs counterparts for contrast; even robbery does.

"No need to trouble you for now," Zhang nglong grinned, "I'll let you know when I need assistance."

"Alright, we're always ready to make this transaction with you," that Dark Magician chuckled before disappearing back into the shadows with his group.

"This Drake seems to have quite a status among the Dark Magicians," Zhang nglong muttered. He could tell the elder from the Dark Magician Association wanted to act but was hesitant due to so unknown factors, likely because Drake was negotiating behind the scenes.

Of course, it's possible they wanted to see what Zhang nglong and his companions were capable of, letting other magicians probe them first.

"Since none of you are taking action, I'll be the first!" A sowhat stout middle-aged man threw a spell at Zhang nglong. Whoever captured Zhang nglong first would undoubtedly gain more treasures and information, so they were all unwilling to fall behind.

Clearly, this magician was not the typical trash-talking villain. He must have gathered enough intel on Zhang nglong to jump straight to a Forbidden Curse without further probing.

It was a blood-colored blade, steeped in a particularly sinister aura—dark magicians were an exceedingly rare type among magicians.

Many assu they only employ poisonous, blinding, or illusion techniques—these auxiliary magic attacks—but only those who've faced dark magic know just how powerful it is.

This blade might not appear as devastating as other magicians' Forbidden Curses, but precisely because of this, its power was more concentrated and terrifying, further enhanced by corrosive properties, increasing its offensive capability.

It could even instantly kill weaker Level Seven perfect beings!

"Let's see how he defends!"

"I heard he also has many Forbidden Curses, his strength rivals a Great Magician. I'm curious to see if it's exaggerated."

But Zhang nglong and his two companions didn't move; only Raditz rubbed his ring gently.

In an instant, a pitch-black figure shielded them, with its magic core glowing blue at its chest. Raising its arms, it effortlessly blocked the Forbidden Curse!

The figure slid back a few dozen ters, with only a shallow cut on its arm that emitted sizzling sounds and black smoke under the corrosive effect of the dark magic, but suffered no substantial damage.

"What is that?" The magician was stunned. He had ntally prepared for his magic being thwarted, but not in such a manner.

"It's a humanoid magic battle weapon! This body's strength is definitely close to Level Eight perfect beings!"

"What? He even acquired sothing like this?"

"This weapon might be beyond ordinary interdiate Great Magicians!"

"Counterattack!" Raditz commanded.

Suddenly, the humanoid magic battle weapon began revealing compartnts akin to hidden switches, exposing cannon-like chanisms.

It was entirely fueled by magic energy. Its core wasn't your typical heat weapon but an offensive formation!

In no ti, dozens of magic beams shot from the weapon, each containing terrifying energy, rivaling the power of Forbidden Curses!

The dark magician hurriedly cast defensive magic to fend them off, but his Shield shattered with few hits, and a beam penetrated his body.

"Trash like this attempts to rob!" Zhang nglong spat, "Next!"

"Next?"

"What does he take us for?"

"Forget it, let's stop pretending and go together. Capture him first!"

"Agreed!"

The magicians reached a consensus, discarding their dignity—being the hypocrites in this scenario was indeed a thankless task.

"Hey, kid, you need us now, right? So many of them, your battle weapon can barely handle two interdiate Great Magicians."

"Thanks," Zhang nglong acknowledged, knowing it was the Dark Magician once again, "Trash is trash, no matter how much, it's only a heap of garbage!"
