"Swindler Trick? What’s that supposed to an?" Drake asked, puzzled.

"Well... it’s about tricking into your side, then finding a way to extort ."

"We magicians of dark magic despise doing such things," Drake said. "If we want to rob, we’d do it now; no need to beat around the bush."

"Even if you were to rob, Ainos’s inheritance is not with ."

"Huh?" Drake was taken aback. "What, didn’t you obtain Ainos’s inheritance inside?"

"That old guy wanted to pass his legacy to , but I’m not interested," Zhang nglong replied. "Those old things of his aren’t worth learning or inheriting."

"You didn’t take it?" Drake was even more shocked this ti. Countless people vied for Ainos’s inheritance, yet Zhang nglong refused? Is this even human? So why did he co? To cause trouble?

"I gave it to my friend," Zhang nglong said. "Though it’s useless to , it’s quite decent for him."

"Zhang, being your friend is truly a blessing," Drake did not doubt Zhang nglong’s words. Given what he had displayed, it seed he’d surpassed whatever magical inheritance Ainos might have offered.

He hadn’t been idle just now and quietly investigated Zhang nglong’s details. From the Mosla Empire’s information, Zhang nglong wasn’t just a high-level Array Master but also mastered an unknown number of Forbidden Curses. Moreover, he could wield ordinary magic at the level of a mid-level magician.

Could Ainos match that?

Thinking this way, it wasn’t strange at all.

"Then why are you looking for ?" Given Drake’s status, even if he’d obtained Ainos’s inheritance, it wouldn’t warrant such humility to invite him. "Do you need sothing from ?"

"Zhang, you’ve hit the mark," Drake said, having his intention uncovered without embarrassnt, "This ti we indeed have a request."

"Oh? Let’s hear it," Zhang nglong said. "But if it’s about your disputes with other magicians, I’m not interested. Although those guys are annoying and thick-skinned, I avoid trouble."

"This has nothing to do with that," Drake said, "This ti it’s about an ancient Evil God."

"Evil God?" As soon as he heard the words, Zhang nglong’s interest piqued, and it seed intriguing, "Explain?"

Seeing Zhang nglong’s expression as if he discovered a new world, Raditz sighed bitterly. To them, the troubleso Evil God seed rely amusing to Zhang nglong.

"It all starts with the birth of our Dark Magicians’ Association," Drake took a deep breath and began to recount their story.

The founder of the Dark Magicians’ Association, also Drake’s father Rubis, once belonged to the sa faction as the President of the Magicians’ Association, taught by the sa magician.

Both were highly talented, with almost equal magic cultivation. At the ti, there were no Magicians’ Association or Dark Magicians’ Association, only an entity known as the Magic Sanctum.

Their teacher was a great being who inherited Cang Yuan Era’s magical legacy, even reaching the peak of perfect beings.

However, he failed while attempting to break through to a higher realm. When he was near the end of his life, he decided to pass on the Magic Sanctum to them, one as Hall Master, the other as Vice Hall Master.

The rule was simple: the one who won a duel would inherit the Hall Master’s position.

Their magical cultivation was very close, but Drake’s father, while traveling, had once entered the Dark Forest and found a legacy left from the Cang Yuan Era, learning many profound spells. Though these spells were unusual, even bizarre, they were imnsely powerful.

In their duel without a clear victor, Rubis tried using so spells learned from that legacy.

Indeed, these spells worked wonders, catching the Magicians’ Association President off guard and leading to his defeat.

Yet, despite his victory, Rubis didn’t beco Hall Master but was punished by his teacher.

His teacher deed those spells wicked, certain Rubis strayed down wrongful paths and decided to punish him, even only awarding him an Elder position in the Magic Sanctum, replacing the Vice Hall Master with soone else.

Rubis was naturally dissatisfied. To him, good and evil weren’t related to magic; it depended on the magician using it.

But others believed these were evil spells used only by evil individuals, considering his ideas absurd.

Enraged, Rubis left the Magic Sanctum and ford the Dark Magicians’ Association with those sharing similar experiences and beliefs, within the Dark Forest.

"That does sound quite tragic, differing beliefs but being labeled forever without escape," Zhang nglong sighed, many things are like this, difficult to clarify.

"But what’s this got to do with the Evil God you ntioned?"

"My father found that the legacy in the Dark Forest contained nurous types of spells with various elents, differing styles, and even traces of magical creation. He suspected it was once a battleground or sothing more remarkable. One day, he discovered a very unusual statue in the forest."

"What statue?"

"I don’t know either, but my father, after long-term exploration, deciphered the writings around it. It claid the statue was suppressing an ancient Evil God, never to be unsealed. If broken, the world could face destruction."

"So, the statue is damaged now?"

"Not quite," Drake said. "Due to ti, the statue had beco fragile and cracked one day. Its fissure worsening, the power emanating drove one of our great magicians insane."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. His body seed corroded by that power, making him highly aggressive, not recognizing friends. Until my father found a spell left here to help expel the power, but surely the statue will soon be entirely corroded by it, and then no one knows what might erge."

"Huzi, did you know?" Zhang nglong turned to ask, "Oh, let introduce, my servant Huzi, a person surviving from the Cang Yuan Era."

"What? He’s from the Cang Yuan Era?" Drake exclaid, "There are survivors?"

Huzi showed a grave expression, "I thought those damned things perished with the Cang Yuan Era, didn’t expect any survived, this is troubleso."

Only Zhang nglong remained relaxed, "An Evil God, huh? Is it formidable?"
