"Why is this place so eerie?"

Drake and the others led Zhang nglong through a dark forest path, which was darker than other areas. As they moved forward, Zhang nglong increasingly felt a chilling sensation pressing down on him.

"It’s the power emanating from the Evil God," Drake explained. "When we reach the statue, the surrounding temperature might drop even lower. If you are not a perfect being, you could be frozen to death within seconds."

"Whoosh!"

Suddenly, a swooshing sound ca from the side. Zhang nglong looked over and saw a thick vine lashing out like a whip towards their position.

Moreover, a plant nearby was spraying a yellow mist at them.

Rubis swung his magic wand, and the vines and yellow pollen were instantly burned away. The flas followed the vines into the depths of the forest, soon eliciting a piercing scream from within.

"What is this thing?" Zhang nglong had seen attacking plants before, although this was still less formidable than the ones in the Plants vs. Zombies world; it was still quite lethal.

"It’s a plant corrupted by the Evil God’s power," Rubis explained. "That energy doesn’t just affect Humans; it impacts Warcrafts and plants as well. Now, all the plants in this area have mutated and possess a strong aggression."

"This Evil God sure is outrageous." Zhang nglong and the others kept moving forward, and the plant attacks grew fiercer. So plant seeds even exploded, with enough force possibly to kill a Main God!

Occasionally, shadows flitted through the surrounding bushes, and Drake told Zhang nglong that these were Warcrafts infected by the Evil God’s power.

After a long journey, they finally reached the statue’s location.

Until Zhang nglong saw it, he didn’t realize what a huge statue it was—it’s almost as tall as a mountain!

This was the central area of the Dark Forest, the only place not covered by the tree canopy, allowing sunlight to directly hit this spot.

The area had a radius of about two to three hundred ters, yet within this space stood a towering statue surpassing 500 ters in height.

Zhang nglong couldn’t describe the statue accurately; it looked sowhat like a person with chicken wings on its back—or like a monster, with so parts resembling a human.

"This is a deity of the Sky Tribe," Rubis explained. "They’re a powerful Human race, and this statue is the deity they worship."

"It looks quite abstract," Zhang nglong couldn’t find other adjectives to describe it.

The statue indeed had nurous cracks, with moss even growing in so of them.

A formation painted in so unknown black pignt lay on the ground. The formation had twelve positions, each connected to the statue by chains.

Even each chain was intricately arranged with its own formation.

"This array is at least an Eighth Grade formation, and the ones on the chains are at least Level Six," Zhang nglong observed.

"Yes, this formation is called the Sky Suppressing Demon Array, an Eighth Grade sealing formation," Rubis, seeing Zhang nglong identify the formation’s grade with just a glance, deepened his evaluation of him.

Of course, he had acquired this information through the inheritance surrounding the formation.

"Brother Zhang, the main power sealing the Evil God doesn’t co from the formation but from the statue itself," Drake explained. "The material of this statue is an Elent inherent to the Cang Yuan Era. We suspect that after the great destruction, its structure changed for so reason, and it’s impossible to find in this world anymore."

"This material... I haven’t seen it much myself," Zhang nglong observed.

"Do you have any other way to repair the statue?"

"Humans, you’re wasting your ti. You won’t be able to trap . Once I escape, I’ll kill all of you!"

At that mont, an extrely sinister voice emanated from the formation suppressing the statue.

"What the hell? It can talk?" Zhang nglong was also taken aback, "And it’s speaking the language of this era?"

"Yes, from what we’ve gathered, it’s only its body and power that are sealed, but its consciousness seems able to perceive everything outside. It knows our language and our knowledge," Rubis said. "This is only its second ti communicating with us."

"Humans, I thought you would bring soone formidable, but it turns out you only brought a wet-behind-the-ears youngster. You surely don’t expect him to strengthen my seal, right?"

Suddenly, the Dark Forest seed to quake, the formation on the ground dispersing a kind of black light, while black mist seeped from the statue’s cracks.

"Be careful, everyone, don’t touch the mist!" Rubis imdiately warned.

"Whoa, it’s quite bold!" Zhang nglong activated the Strange Fire Energy on his body, preventing the black mist from approaching within a ter of him, as if the Strange Fire naturally countered it.

"Oh no, he’s been infected!" Drake exclaid as a black magician next to him suddenly displayed strangely scarlet eyes.

"Let handle it," Zhang nglong imdiately grabbed his hand, letting the Strange Fire Energy spread throughout his body, causing the madness in his eyes to gradually fade.

"This thing’s infection power has grown stronger," Drake said with lingering fear.

...

"Humans, your seal is soon to fail. Our race will gradually awaken. Then, we will once again rule this world. This ti, even if you burn the World Force again, you can’t destroy or suppress us."

"Hey, you’re quite cocky!" Zhang nglong kicked the statue.

"First, I am not just ’hey’; I am a Demon General! Second..."

"Really? That introduction makes think you’re Chu Yuxun," Zhang nglong mocked. "You’re just a sealed spirit being cocky here. I don’t know what you just said, but if I don’t want you to co out, you’ll never get out!"

"Hahaha, you wet-behind-the-ears kid, I’ve eaten thousands like you before."

"Anyone can talk big. If you’re capable, co eat now!" Zhang nglong slapped his butt towards the statue.

The black magicians stared blankly; who would have thought Zhang nglong would start trash-talking with the Evil God!

"Co on, kill if you can!" The Evil God also taunted Zhang nglong.

Though sealed and unable to do anything to this Human, the Evil God believed Zhang nglong posed no threat to him.

"That’s what you said," Zhang nglong grinned, "Don’t go back on your word!"
