Fuji Kiseki's POV

Hachiman Trainer-san was swamped this morning… No surprise, though, with that giant poster blaring his new team trainer status. Him yelling "that idiot Chairman!" while storming off was hilarious, though! I wonder if the Chairman's pulled sothing like this before?

Note: This refers to the second scout announcent, also done with a big poster. This one's even bigger.

Training might take a backseat today. The academy's buzzing about Hachiman Trainer-san's team, and it's no shock that pony-chans are probably lining up to join. It'd be weirder if they didn't.

Fuji: "…After class, maybe I'll check on Hachiman Trainer-san during lunch. I'm kinda worried."

Lunch Break

…As expected, the trainer's room is sward with pony-chans. It shows how much Hachiman Trainer-san is respected. As his trainee, I'm proud♪ It's not special, but his coaching's practically a brand now.

Fuji: "Got a sec?"

"Oh! F-Fuji-senpai!!"

Fuji: "Sorry, just need to see my trainer. Is he in?"

"Y-Yes! He's inside!"

Fuji: "Thanks, pony-chan♪" pat pat

"Wah~…///" blush

Fuji: "Hey, Hachiman Trainer-san, it's Fuji Kiseki. Can I co in?"

Hachiman: "Fuji?"

CB: "Yo, Fuji! Didn't expect you—welco♪"

Hachiman: "Why're you acting like you own the place?"

Fuji: "This morning looked rough, so I ca to check on you. Seems okay, but how's it really going?"

Hachiman: "Eating lunch while putting out fires about the team. Tazuna-san's helping, and it's class ti, so it's not too bad yet."

CB: "We knew it'd be like this, but we can't add more mbers, right?"

Hachiman: "Team size is capped."

Fuji: "…So that's that. Sorry, everyone, if you wanted to join, you'll have to give up."

"Ehh!?"

Haha… Yeah, that's the reaction I expected.

Soon after, the pony-chans cleared out from the trainer's room.

Fuji: "Rough day, huh, Hachiman Trainer-san?"

CB: "It was wild from the start! I've never heard you yell like that—'that idiot Chairman!' I cracked up♪"

Hachiman: "It's no laughing matter for … Thought it'd go smoothly, but she botched it at the end. Unforgivable."

CB: "Wow, you're serious."

Hachiman: "Anyway, you guys good for lunch? It's break ti. Go eat."

CB: "No worries! I live alone, so I brought a bento. I'm eating with you♪"

Fuji: "I'd join, but I didn't bring a bento, so next ti."

CB: "Oh! How about a weekly team lunch with your homade bento—'If that gets approved, I'll make you plain rice with uboshi and takuan.' …Is that bullying? Just getting that nu?"

Hachiman: "Nah, I'd make proper ones."

CB: "Because I suggested it!? That's why I get this!?"

Hachiman: "Oops, sorry… Salted onigiri, then."

CB: "Ugh, what's with this vague upgrade? What about everyone else?"

Hachiman: "Normal bentos, I guess. But Fuji's working hard as dorm leader, so she gets a deluxe katsu bento."

CB: "Fancy♪—Wait, no! The gap between us is huge!"

…It's like watching a cody routine.

Fuji side out

CB's POV

CB: "Geez, I can get mad too, you know? Watch it, Hachiman. Even if we're close!"

Hachiman: "My bad. So, how serious is that weekly bento idea?"

CB: "Hmm… 50-50. Depends on you. I can't decide it."

Hachiman: "You're surprisingly sensible."

CB: "You thought I wasn't? How rude!"

Hachiman: "Anyway, I'll think about the bento thing. It's not a bad idea."

CB: "Right? Oh, by the way, have you picked a team na? I haven't heard."

Hachiman: "Didn't ntion it, huh? Our team's called Polaris."

CB: "Polaris?"

Hachiman: "Yeah, it's the North Star. It points to the Big Dipper, seven stars. You've heard of it, right?"

CB: "Totally!"

Hachiman: "When I was told to scout five more, making seven total, it hit . Perfect fit."

CB: "Wait, but with Ardan, we're eight. Doesn't that ss up the Big Dipper?"

Hachiman: "Actually, the Big Dipper's second star has a companion, Alcor, the auxiliary star. With the North Star and Alcor, it's called the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper. I'm the North Star, and you eight are the other stars."

CB: "That's so perfect!! Team Polaris—love it♪"

Hachiman: "Right?"

Team Polaris! That's our na now! Sounds aweso♪

Afterword

Team Polaris is born in this Yahari x Uma Musu chapter! The Chairman's poster chaos lingers, but Fuji and CB keep spirits high as Hachiman unveils the team's starry na. The North Star (Hachiman) guides his eight shining stars toward glory!

Note: Unlike other teams nad after fixed stars, Polaris is a shining star, chosen deliberately. The North Star watching over the Big Dipper plus Alcor fits perfectly!
