I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List? Chapter 122: Chaos and Work Intuition
After noting down the address provided by Abel Norton and getting the answer he wanted, Loren was about to end the video call.
The voice from off-screen ca through the speaker again:
"Sir, whatever you do tonight, I wish you a pleasant evening."
"I will." Loren reached out and terminated the video connection.
On his portable computer, he opened a mapping application and entered the address: "Jadeite Comrcial Building, Central District."
Once the mapping software provided directions, the broad black wings behind him gave a gentle flap.
A fierce gale surged.
Loren's figure vanished once more into the boundless night.
Inside the interrogation room.
Abel Norton put away his portable computer and looked with a complicated expression at his precognitive colleague beside him.
"Agent Asfur, I need an explanation from you."
The precognitive powerhouse addressed as "Agent Asfur" seed unconcerned with his colleague's attitude. He stood up directly and said to Abel Norton:
"Ti is tight. Let's go, I'll explain on the way. First, we need to see your superior, the person in charge of the Jadeite Star Domain. We have a busy night ahead."
Then, the three Federation Agents in the interrogation room quickly left together.
Without any questions or doubts, the three veteran agents imdiately began their operation.
In monts of crisis, letting a high-tier precognitive psychic take command is a regulation recorded in the Security Bureau's tactical manual, a lesson paid for in blood.
As for Luca Brown, hanging half-dead in the interrogation room, no one paid him any attention anymore.
This high-tier assassin was like a piece of garbage that had lost its usefulness;
even a glance at him would be a waste of ti.
The outco awaiting this senior assassin was a lonely death in this interrogation room, unnoticed and uncared for.
Then, an agent tasked with cleaning the room would proficiently collect his body, send it for cremation, until it was ultimately reduced to a pile of ashes.
Not far from this interrogation room, outside a heavily guarded office.
The three veteran agents walked together into the office of the Security Bureau's Jadeite Star Domain person-in-charge.
Soon after, an argunt erupted from within the office.
"You three are insane?! That's a councilor belonging to the Jadeite Council?!"
After another round of arguing, an eerie silence fell over the office.
The Security Bureau's Jadeite Star Domain person-in-charge dialed a mysterious number.
"Minister, I have a special situation I need to report to you..."
Then, a top-level video conference within the Security Bureau began.
Initiated by the Federation's Security Departnt Minister and presided over by that high-tier precognitive psychic.
"Greetings, sirs. I am Agent Asfur, also a seventh-tier precognitive psychic."
"Now, I need to report an urgent situation to you."
"Fifteen minutes ago, my precognitive psychic ability completely failed on a certain 'person'."
"The last ti this happened was when I had just awakened my ability."
"Back then, I didn't understand the danger of the Gods. While exploring the limits of my ability, I foolishly targeted my precognition on the entity known as 'Moonlight'."
"Perhaps, He did not notice this impudent little insect."
"Perhaps, it was His kindness that spared this curious little insect."
"Only then did I have the chance to stand here today and report this special situation to you, sirs."
"Now, let explain my ability. My precognitive psychic ability is quite special;
it can bypass tier restrictions."
"When I was first-tier, I could precognize a Legendary-tier powerhouse, although the energy and ntal consumption nearly killed that ti."
"But that ti, I accurately precognized that Legendary powerhouse's future 0.001 seconds later."
"Over the years, including after I joined the Security Bureau, I have perford countless precognitions."
"But never has that situation of 'unknown' when precognizing a God occurred again, until fifteen minutes ago."
"That 'unknown' situation has reappeared."
"My precognitive ability activated, but my ntal energy and actual energy consumption were zero. What I saw was an unknown chaos."
"Moreover, while gazing at that chaos, I had a bizarre feeling of being lost within it."
"I, Agent Asfur Jessit, hereby pledge with my life and character that the situation I described is true and accurate."
"Sirs, my report is complete. Please deliberate quickly and make your decisions."
"I must remind you, that 'person' is currently on his way to attack a councilor of the Jadeite Council."
After Agent Asfur finished speaking, he said no more, sitting back in his chair and silently awaiting the decision of the Security Bureau's true higher-ups.
The other three individuals present in the office also waited silently for the decision of these true higher-ups.
In the video conference, the various unseen high-ranking officials of the Security Departnt began a dense, hushed discussion.
After a long while.
The dense, hushed discussion ended.
A figure whose face couldn't be seen clearly in the video conference asked:
"Agent Asfur, what is the likelihood that your precognitive ability is being countered by another psychic ability?"
"Report, sir. I have not yet encountered a situation where my ability is countered by another person's ability. I cannot answer that question."
Asfur Jessit stood up again and answered the high-ranking officials in the video seriously.
The scene fell into a period of silence. No one offered further opinions.
This matter already involved an unknown God;
caution was necessary.
Finally, the Security Departnt Minister asked another question:
"Agent Norton, I have just reviewed that individual's detailed profile and seen your Crisis Transfer plan."
"Can you tell why, upon your first eting with him, you formulated such a unique plan?"
Abel Norton also stood up and answered the Security Departnt Minister in the video seriously:
"Report, sir. It was intuition. My work intuition told that eliminating him would be very difficult. Therefore, I formulated and executed that plan to maintain a good relationship between him and the Security Bureau."
The Security Departnt Minister in the video lowered his head, pondering Agent Norton's words.
After a long while, the head of this powerful departnt looked up, his eyes gleaming sharply. He had made his decision:
"Agent Norton, thank you for your contribution to the Federation. It appears now that your judgnt at that ti was extrely valuable."
"Now, Agent Norton, please tell , has that Councilor Osman done anything that violates Federation law?"
Everyone participating in this video conference quietly let out a sigh of relief upon hearing their Minister's question.
This question indicated that the Minister had chosen to handle that entity suspected of being a God in a gentle manner.
"Sir, yes. Many things. All are on record." Abel Norton answered with utmost seriousness.
