I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List? Chapter 163: Baffling
"Loren, this should be your first ti facing an enemy of Legendary tier, right?" Retab Collin turned and asked Loren, who kept a calm expression.
"That's correct." Loren gazed into the distant night and replied softly.
"Anything you want to say?"
"The next ti I take a commission, I should evaluate the risks behind it more carefully."
"Hahahaha... taking freelance jobs is like that. Congratulations, you now have a relatively complete experience as an Interstellar Hunter."
Retab Collin laughed until he was a little out of breath.
"..." Your laughter is annoying .
The night deepened, and ti slipped by quietly as Loren and Retab Collin chatted idly.
"When is it coming? We’ve been waiting so long. I still haven't seen the excitent. I'm thinking of going back to sleep."
The high-rank Superhumans standing on the castle's outer wall, watching the show, were getting impatient.
"There!" A perceptive high-rank Superhuman looked into the heavy night sky and warned.
Before the castle, Retab Collin, who had been sitting in a leather chair, also stood up and stared into the distance with a faint expression.
"Your position was inferred. That guy Longlair launched an attack from twenty thousand ters away. It seems he doesn't want to appear inside your ability range."
No sooner had Retab Collin finished speaking than an attack radiating an earthy yellow light shot from a very distant place toward Loren at incredible speed, streaking through the night sky like a teor.
Loren nodded silently, not too surprised. The more he fought, the more people could guess his weak points.
His black wings spread out behind him, and Loren rose into the high sky, scanning the night ahead. He could see nothing, sense nothing...
Half a second later.
The attack finally entered Loren's sensing range. Loren raised his right hand lightly, snapped his fingers, and silently uttered "Misfortune" in his mind.
Imdiately, a massive amount of Misfortune attached to that teor-like attack.
After being saturated with Misfortune, the indistinct assault began to disintegrate in midair and slowly dissipated into nothingness.
Seeing that the attack had been so easily neutralized, Loren breathed a silent sigh of relief.
So that's a Legendary-tier attack? Not that impressive.
Looks like it's the type I counter, and I went through all that preparation for nothing...
After his internal complaint, the familiar black-and-gold Revolver appeared in Loren's hand. He aid toward the direction the attack had co from and fired.
Bang! The bullet scread out.
"A gift for you, Mr. Longlair," Loren murmured.
His voice was low, and the night wind whisked the words away.
After waiting five seconds, once the fired energy bullet had traveled beyond Loren's perception range, he exhaled.
My sensing range is still too small. Even if the destructive power increased, I'm still only a Seventh-tier Psychic after all...
"Raven, begin the advancent!" Loren issued the command silently.
At those words, the Loren hovering in the night sky was suffused with the Advancent Glow, like a small lamp in the dark sky that lit his surroundings.
"At your command, Master! Also, I've attached a trendous amount of Fortune to you."
"Boldly go, Master! Go kill him!" ca the Raven's reply in his mind.
The black wings beat powerfully!
Loren flew straight toward the direction from which the attack had co.
In front of the war castle, Retab Collin watched the scene calmly.
This isn't the commotion of soone advancing to Legendary...
So it's only Seventh or Eighth tier? What an exaggerated young man...
After reflecting inwardly, Retab Collin lightly tapped the ground with his right foot, and in an instant his figure vanished.
His sensing range happened to be just slightly larger than Longlair's.
Knowing the opponent's exact location, he moved directly toward the position of Longlair's true body.
"Wait, look at that Advancent Glow!!"
"This is ridiculous, 'Night Raven' still isn't Ninth tier?!"
"Whoa!! Are rule-system Psychics this overpowered? Is he chasing down that Legendary?!"
"How many tiers do you think that guy jumped for this fight?!"
The high-rank Superhumans on the castle wall who'd been watching the commotion also understood after seeing Loren's advancent light.
The news of a Ninth-tier Psychic ascending to Legendary tier would not be so quiet!!!
After their surprise, several high-rank Superhumans jumped down from the castle wall and, led by a particularly perceptive high-rank Psychic, hurried toward one direction in the Main City.
They followed after Retab Collin, trailing to watch the spectacle.
Longlair's attack that had streaked across the night sky also disturbed many Superhumans inside Radiant Flow Main City.
As a star domain filled with cult organizations and schers, Radiant Flow was never short of daring strongn.
More and more high-rank Superhumans who were confident in their strength quietly stepped outside, planning to watch the excitent tonight.
A few days ago, several Legendary-tier figures had engaged in a massive brawl inside the Main City, and they had avoided watching then for fear of being swept up in the chaos.
But tonight's spectacle, with only two Legendaries fighting each other, felt safe enough to observe from a distance.
So even recognized Longlair's aura from that forceful attack.
Discovering that this commotion was caused by Gray Moon, a second-rate cult organization, they felt even less worried.
What kind of trash group is Gray Moon thinking it can scare off? Why wouldn't it avoid my sharp edge?!
Even mbers of the Security Bureau and the Energy Departnt, who were not especially dominant in Radiant Flow, quietly mobilized.
The Security Bureau people went to see what was happening;
the Energy Departnt people simply ca for the spectacle.
As strong figures across Radiant Flow Main City converged toward the sa direction, the once-silent city ca fully alive at night.
The high-rank Superhumans and a few Legendary-tier strongn who went to gawk made no effort to conceal their energy signatures to avoid trouble.
As a result, their actions disturbed countless other Superhumans.
A chain reaction occurred.
Those middle- and low-rank Superhumans who were alard fled toward the edges of Radiant Flow Main City.
Even if they didn't know what was happening,
they understood that in a disorderly star domain like Radiant Flow, when events of this level occur, running in the opposite direction is the safest bet...
At this mont, Loren was flying through the night sky toward Longlair's location, with Retab Collin on the ground below him.
Retab Collin, who treated coasting along as a life philosophy, hadn't even chosen to fly;
he followed Loren at his own unhurried pace.
When he noticed he was moving faster than Loren, he would even stop and wait for him.
Behind Retab Collin trailed a large group of high-rank Superhumans from the Interstellar Hunter Association.
With this bizarrely powerful idle president present, they were truly there to enjoy the show, occasionally letting out strange cheers.
"It's been so long since we've had this kind of fun!! There are so many people coming from other directions too!!"
"Co on!! Mr. Loren! Show these enemies the style of our Interstellar Hunters!!"
"Yes! Keep it up!! Mr. Loren!! Defeat a Legendary and your fa will echo throughout Radiant Flow Star Domain!!"
While Loren flew and casually neutralized a few of Longlair's attacks, he instinctively glanced at the ground.
Seeing this absurd scene, Loren rubbed his forehead silently.
"These guys aren't any different from the people on forums!"
"Master, I told you long ago that once humans have brains, they always do inexplicable things..." the Raven murmured in his mind.
