I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List? Chapter 188: Luck and Wisdom
Loren ignored the devil's muttering and instead asked Raven in his mind, "How much ti is left until the advancent ends?"
"35 seconds, Master," Raven's announcent sounded.
Hearing that only 35 seconds remained, Loren thought with so complexity, *Has even a Legendary Tier devil failed to provide enough pressure for ?*
Loren actually felt that the pressure this devil was giving him wasn't quite sufficient.
Thus, he decided to increase the difficulty for himself.
"Mr. Devil, my ti to act is running short. Do you have any stronger attacks?"
*My ti is a bit tight, I might end up with a weak ability...*
Of course, after delivering the taunt, Loren imdiately and very cautiously bestowed a massive amount of Fortune upon himself.
*Mortal danger is acceptable, but actually dying would be no good...*
Upon hearing Loren's question, the devil's face revealed a dangerous smile.
"Of course, please evaluate."
The devil wasn't angered. In his long life, he had witnessed many human Superhumans who pursued the pleasure of battle. Loren's request, in his view, was rely an insignificant "small request."
Then, the devil's over-three-ter-tall, robust body beca sowhat illusory, even the color of the dark red leather armor on his body faded.
When the devil's body completely transford into a phantom, this phantom began to stretch taller, widen, its area continuously expanding until it covered half the night sky above the underground black market.
"Don't die later, interesting sir. Devils are different from demons;
we accept surrender. I'm very interested in your abilities. You can co back to the Abyss with ."
A layered, illusory voice ca from all directions of the night sky, the devil's tone thick with mockery.
Gazing at the devil's phantom covering half the sky in the night, Loren quietly asked in his heart:
"Raven, tell , did I overstimulate him?"
"..." *Idiot Master, that resurrection chance will be wasted by you sooner or later!!*
Raven completely didn't want to answer Loren's question, just silently stacking Fortune on Loren's body, striving to apply all the Fortune it could manipulate onto its foolish master.
Above the night sky, the devil's phantom covering half the firmant activated the innate spell he obtained after advancing to Legendary.
"Soul Howl."
When the devil's phantom uttered the na of this spell, this layered, illusory voice instantly resounded through the night sky of the Radiant Flow Main City, echoing incessantly.
Invisible ripples flowed through the air, instantly sweeping over everything.
When this invisible ripple swept over Loren's body, his expression beca one of extre discomfort, a pained look instantly covering his face.
This bizarre attack targeting the soul accurately struck Loren's soul, impossible to dodge, impossible to block.
"Master! It's a spell that directly attacks the soul!"
Raven's exclamation rang out in Loren's mind.
Loren in the night sky, now powerless to control the wings behind him, plumted straight down.
His body crashed heavily toward the ground of the Radiant Flow Main City.
"BOOM!!" High dust and smoke erupted from the ground.
The already ravaged ground of the Main City, due to Vic's ability, now sported another large crater.
Seeing his spell take effect, the devil's phantom in the night sky above did not stop his soul attack upon witnessing Loren's fall, instead intensifying his voice further.
He intended to completely tear Loren's soul apart here.
Those words about bringing Loren back to the Abyss were rely a trap to lull Loren into lowering his guard.
Devils never show rcy to their enemies. If they do, it must be because the devils can't defeat the other party...
Thirty seconds later.
The devil's phantom in the night sky above finally ceased his illusory, bizarre voice.
In his perception, Loren's body on the ground no longer emitted the scent of that delectable soul.
He was absolutely certain of Loren's death. Sensing soul auras was his innate ability;
his judgnt couldn't be wrong.
When a human no longer emits a soul aura, it signifies that human is definitely dead.
This Legendary Tier devil from the Abyss retracted his phantom covering half the sky, returning to his normal state.
After the massive phantom coalesced back into the over-three-ter-tall giant figure, the devil tilted his neck, emitting a series of pleasant "crack-crack" sounds.
Located high in the air, he took a deep breath of the Radiant Flow Main City's night air.
The occasional night breeze made the air sowhat humid. Having spent long years in a dry, hot environnt, he greatly enjoyed this sowhat damp air.
"The Star Realm is truly a marvelous place..." the devil comnted thus.
His body began to slowly descend toward the location where Loren had fallen. He was going to collect his spoils.
The bodies of powerful humans, while not as delicious as human souls, were still a decent little snack in an environnt like the Abyss.
Suddenly, his slowly descending body halted.
He sensed with shock and uncertainty the human body below that had once again begun to emit a soul aura. Sothing beyond his understanding had occurred...
That human body which had lost its soul aura was once again filled with an active, vigorous soul aura, as if it had returned from death.
"I didn't perceive any traces of a high-level resurrection spell being activated... Did he use so ans to conceal his soul aura?" the devil speculated in his heart.
On the ground, the dust and smoke kicked up by Loren's impact gradually dispersed, revealing the scene within the large crater.
It was a figure wrapped in black wings.
And the advancent glow on the Black Wings had long since vanished.
The massive Black Wings slowly unfurled, revealing Loren's sowhat pale face.
"Well done, Mr. Devil. I really almost died there..." Loren looked up at the figure in the night sky, revealing a aningful smile.
During Loren's fall, Raven, situated in the deepest part of Loren's consciousness, took over control of the Black Wings at the opportune mont.
After wrapping Loren's body with the Black Wings, Raven began to consider counterasures. With its foolish master unconscious, it felt it could do sothing.
Perhaps aided by the massive amount of "Fortune," perhaps its own "wisdom" played a role.
In an extrely short ti, Raven had a flash of inspiration and activated the Psychic Ability's sixth ability—Crossroads of Fate—upon Loren's soul.
Instantly, Loren's soul, which was being attacked by the Legendary-tier spell, was pulled by Raven into the Illusion Space.
The effect was remarkably significant.
This Illusion Space, constructed from Loren's and Raven's ntal power, perfectly shielded against the soul attack launched by the devil from outside.
Here in the Illusion Space, it seed to be an independent and unknown existence.
Due to the different flow of ti between the Illusion Space and the outside world, Loren's soul, lying quietly at the crossroads in the field, had ample ti to recover.
After an unknown length of ti, Loren's soul slowly regained consciousness...
