I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List? Chapter 43: Digging the Roots and Conspiracy
"Please have a seat, Mr. Loren."
After the reporter paid the 500 Spirit Stones "interview fee" on the spot, this reporter from the Stellar Daily, who was extrely generous with his spending, very thoughtfully escorted Mr. Loren to the restaurant on the fourth floor.
After politely pulling out the chair for Loren.
He then very perceptively went to the restaurant window, fetched a large plate of fresh fruit, and gently placed it in front of the raven that had hopped onto the dining table.
"Mr. Raven, please enjoy your al. I hope my boring interview won't make you feel too dull."
He said with a smile to the raven.
"You will definitely beco an outstanding reporter in the future, I have high hopes for you."
The raven, being fed, did not hold back its praise.
After witnessing this scene, Loren's mouth twitched involuntarily.
Silly bird, they've already figured out all our preferences, and you're still over there having a good ti...
After settling the raven, this reporter from the Stellar Daily solemnly sat down opposite Loren.
"Mr. Loren, let's begin. Allow to introduce myself, my na is Oliver Beck."
Loren gave a slight nod, indicating the other could start asking questions.
After all, the other party had paid. As long as the questions weren't too sensitive, Loren planned to answer them seriously.
For Loren, whose primary profession was being an Interstellar Hunter, maintaining credibility was relatively important.
If you take the Spirit Stones, you have to deliver.
His reputation was already quite poor within the Association; if he lost his credibility too, that would be truly disheartening.
"I've learned from so special channels that Mr. Loren was born and raised on this Resource Planet, is that correct?"
Oliver took out a notebook and pen from his pocket, preparing to record the upcoming interview.
"Yes, my long-deceased parents were both in mining-related professions. After the Federation enacted the 'Settlent Act,' they settled here. Then, they t, got married, and eventually gave birth to ."
Loren answered quite honestly, without any concealnt.
Anyone who put in a little effort could find out about these things.
"And what about Mr. Loren's childhood?" After recording Loren's answer, Oliver continued to ask.
"Nothing much to say, the sa as all children who grew up in the slums," Loren replied calmly.
Oliver wrote down the phrase "childhood not particularly happy" in his notebook.
"When did Mr. Loren beco a Superhuman and join the Interstellar Hunter Association?"
"I beca a Superhuman at seventeen and was recomnded to join the Association at nineteen."
This was also sothing that could be found out with a little effort, so Loren didn't hide anything.
"A rather legendary story. So, what does Mr. Loren think of the Interstellar Hunter Association?"
"A very free organization, I quite like it here," Loren's answer was very official.
Hearing Loren's watertight response, Oliver decided to change his interview style.
He didn't need these cookie-cutter answers.
"Then, does Mr. Loren know the inside story behind the Energy Departnt's major operation in the Dusk Star Domain this ti?"
Loren thought for a mont and said slowly, "That question requires additional paynt."
"An extra 500 Spirit Stones for the interview fee," Oliver said with a smile, showcasing his interview skills.
"Deal."
Loren then gave this reporter from the Stellar Daily a complete account of what had happened on this planet.
How he had encountered that Investigator, then obtained information from the Investigator's mouth, and how he passed that information on through the Hunter Association.
The Spirit Stone Deposits on this Resource Planet actually hadn't been fully mined out.
Beneath that Heavy Prison outside the Upper District was actually a mine.
And the miners required for that prison's mining operations were partly convicts from the prison, and partly obtained through kidnapping Federation citizens.
Loren also told him about the cha beneath the Wild Dog Gang's building.
He told him everything he knew, down to the smallest detail.
These matters would all spread soon enough anyway.
Telling him now was just helping him snag a front-page scoop.
Oliver rapidly recorded the truth of the matter in his notebook.
As Oliver took notes, his expression visibly grew excited.
This was the scoop! The absolute front-page scoop!!!
From Loren's account, the people and matters involved behind this were simply too many!!!
A Resource Planet with massive Spirit Stone Deposits, carelessly labeled as an abandoned Resource Planet by the Energy Departnt!!!
There absolutely must be moles inside cooperating!!!
Clearly, there were moles within the Energy Departnt, and not low-level ones at that!!!
They could even cooperate to enact the 'Settlent Act'!! This also involves the Federation courts!!!
Finally, there's the matter of smuggling cha!! This involves the Federation military!!!
Large-scale missing persons cases appeared!! Yet no one paid any attention!! This involves the Federation Law Enforcent Departnt!!!
Even the banned biological experints, which were supposed to be prohibited, appeared openly within the pursuit teams!!
This involves the Federation Science Departnt!!!
Finally, so many things happened in the Dusk Star Domain! And the outco was that an Interstellar Hunter delivered the intelligence!!
The Federation's Security Bureau is also severely negligent!!
They didn't investigate and find out any of this intelligence at all!!
The Federation Security Bureau, which boasts millions of excellent agents, actually allowed this conspiracy to happen!!
And not a single whisper leaked out!! Unbelievable!!!
Oliver quickly jotted down his speculations in his notes, growing more and more excited the more he wrote.
He excitedly snapped his notebook shut!
This was no longer just a front-page scoop issue; this was major news that would shock the entire Federation!!!
Multiple departnts were negligent, and all are suspected to have moles inside!
And most importantly.
The Federation's three most powerful departnts! The Federation Energy Departnt! The Federation Military! The Federation Security Bureau!!
All were negligent and had moles appear simultaneously!!
Soone is digging up the Federation's roots!! And it looks like they've already succeeded for the most part!!
As an excellent reporter for the Stellar Daily, Oliver understood the Federation quite well.
In every sense of the word.
He had all sorts of human customs and major trends morized backwards and forwards.
From the culinary culture of each Star Domain to the power struggles within the Federation Council.
The conflict between conservatives and radicals, the resurgence of remnants from the old era, the factional alignnts within the Federation Council.
The overt and covert struggles that began in various Star Domains after joining the Federation.
The influence of various Superhuman organizations on the Federation.
And the attacks and defenses from forces outside the Federation against it.
The Empire's covetous gaze upon the Federation.
The interstellar alien races' murderous ambitions towards the Federation.
And the quiet erosion of the Federation by the lofty "gods."
These mories surfaced one by one in Oliver's mind.
Soon, having figured it all out, Oliver deduced what kind of conspiracy this was.
He even boldly speculated that situations like the one in the Dusk Star Domain were definitely not isolated.
In other Star Domains, such conspiracies also existed.
They just hadn't been discovered yet...
