"Damn the Security Bureau! They investigated so thoroughly but still won't make a move!!! What are they trying to do?!"

"Trying to pass this hot potato to our Law Enforcent Departnt!! No way!!"

"Whoever wants to chew on this bone, be my guest!!!"

"After we get back, define this explosion as caused by the bar chef's improper operation."

"For follow-up investigation, claim that all relevant personnel are dead and the investigation cannot continue, then apply to archive the case!"

"You write the report, I'll sign it!"

After finishing in a fury, the middle-aged man discreetly wiped the sweat from his head and shouted at the Law Enforcent people at the scene:

"Stand down!"

The young Law Enforcent officer beside him opened his mouth several tis but ultimately said nothing, silently standing behind his captain.

The middle-aged man glanced at him, shook his head, and in a voice only the two of them could hear, said softly:

"Everyone in my squad is young except . If I die it's fine, but I won't send you all to die."

After saying that, the man called "Captain" climbed into his patrol vehicle and slamd the door shut in anger.

The slam echoed across the whole blast site.

After a while, the door opened again and he yelled at the young man still standing there:

"What are you still standing there for?! Aren't you leaving?! Go back and write the report!!"

The door slamd shut again with another heavy thud!

The young Law Enforcent officer also quietly got into the vehicle.

That belated patrol car then roared away at high speed, disappearing silently into the heavy night...

.......

Loren had already returned to his lounge on the 29th floor by this ti.

After entering, Loren took off his hat and hung his coat on the rack behind the door.

Carrying a heavy suitcase in his left hand, he leisurely sat down on the sofa inside the room.

The Raven also detached from possession and settled back on Loren's shoulder.

"Master, I have to criticize you, you were a bit extre."

"Shut up, stupid bird."

Loren placed the suitcase on the small table beside the sofa and opened it.

The glow of three thousand Spirit Stones bathed the room in blue light.

"Eat!"

Loren issued the order curtly.

Of the more than two thousand Spirit Stones Loren had earned on the starship last ti, he hadn't fed them all to the Raven at once, saving so for daily use.

After all, keeping the Fifth Ability constantly layered with Fortune consud a lot.

To maintain peak form for both man and raven, the Raven needed to consu one Spirit Stone every three hours.

Although two thousand-plus stones sounded like a lot, it could only support the Raven's daily needs for a little over half a year.

Part of that stash also had to be reserved for replenishing energy during battles.

Therefore, in the past few days, the Raven had been kept at the minimum consumption level.

Living a ager life of eight Spirit Stones a day.

Now that Loren had an additional three thousand Spirit Stones, he naturally wouldn't let the Raven go back to those lean days.

After all, under such poverty, when could the Raven ever have the chance to advance next?

"Master! You are so great!! Glorious master!!" The Raven excitedly hopped into the suitcase and chirped back.

"Shut up, stupid bird, be quiet."

Hearing Loren's command, the Raven raised its right wing and gave Loren a perfectly standard salute with its wing.

"At your command!"

"Quiet!" Loren repeated with a cold face.

At that, the Raven silently lowered its wing and nimbly turned.

It buried its head into the suitcase and began quietly devouring the Spirit Stones.

After the Raven tucked its head into the suitcase and started eating, a faint smile crept onto Loren's lips.

But Loren quickly noticed his lapse and adjusted his expression.

Returning to his usual coldness, Loren stood and went to the washroom to clean up.

The Raven was an energy creature and didn't need washing.

But Loren, a flesh-and-blood person who had been out, was inevitably a bit dusty and needed to freshen up.

Ten minutes later.

When Loren ca out of the washroom, he glanced at the suitcase on the small table.

The suitcase was already empty...

Having finished the stones, the Raven had returned to the big bed, picked up its portable computer, and resud being an internet-addicted creature.

Loren glanced at the clock on the wall and thought silently:

Only ten minutes passed, so the Raven's consumption rate increases with my advancent... what about other things?

With that thought, Loren sat on the bed and turned to ask the Raven:

"How many more Spirit Stones do you need to advance?"

Hearing Loren's question, the Raven set down the portable computer under its claws, closed its small eyes, and sensed for a mont.

"Master, roughly seventeen thousand more Spirit Stones."

Loren nodded silently, matching his own perception...

"Raven, will your intelligence grow stronger as I advance, like the other four abilities?"

"Of course! Intelligence is actually your fourth ability, Master. For so reason it was given to ."

Loren thought for a mont, then said uncertainly:

"Maybe I'm a pervert?"

Raven: "......" Master, I will not allow you to say that about yourself, you can still be saved!

That one remark from Loren plunged the Raven into a long silence.

After a while, the Raven quietly picked up its portable computer again.

With its back to Loren, it used its claws to post on the Interstellar Hunter Forum:

"Waiting online, what to do if my master is a pervert?"

Loren, who had been wondering why the Raven fell silent, "accidentally" glanced at the computer screen under the Raven's claws and his eyes narrowed.

Not angry, not angry, my psychic ability, my pet...

Loren silently lay back on the bed and took out his portable computer.

He logged onto the Interstellar Hunter Forum.

In the search bar he found the post the Raven had just made and clicked into it.

Then Loren cleverly tilted his computer screen away from the Raven's view.

Stupid bird, even on the bed I can still see that angle! Learn from !

After grumbling inwardly, Loren began silently stalking the Raven's every action on the forum.

"Always flying my master everyday"—that was the Raven's forum nickna, as Loren had "accidentally" noticed.

Loren watched every one of the Raven's replies on his screen in silence.

Then.

Loren's expression darkened, his gaze turning dangerous...

This creature thinks of that way?!

On the forum, the Raven's latest reply to that post read:

"Because my master didn't experience love as a child, I suspect he developed so psychological deformity. I'm saving Spirit Stones. Should I find him a psychologist? Any recomndations?"
