I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List? Chapter 92: A Tacit Understanding
After hearing the words of this young man from the Casino Board of Trustees, everyone present had a gleam in their eyes.
The Law Enforcent Departnt thought: That's right, we haven't demanded the public disturbance fines from the three major families yet! Taking this madman along would make the process much easier.
The Energy Departnt thought: That's right, we haven't used an excuse to reclaim that 30% mining share yet! Taking this dangerous fellow along, if the three major families disagree, then things will get interesting. Who would have thought that soone from the Nature Sect would one day be working for our Energy Departnt...
The Security Departnt thought: That's right, we ca here precisely to target the noble factions. Taking this dangerous elent along, we might even seize the chance to confiscate their family assets! If the people are gone, their assets should naturally end up in our Security Departnt's warehouse! If the process goes smoothly, we might even be able to recruit this dangerous elent into the Security Departnt as a senior agent!
Loren thought: I can earn a bit more Spirit Stones?!
After a brief, eerie, and mutually understanding silence.
Everyone turned their heads, exchanging a few glances.
Instantly, the atmosphere among the people on the scene beca harmonious.
Everyone revealed a knowing smile.
"Shall we set off then?" Davis tentatively asked.
The veteran agent from the Security Departnt looked resolute: "Let's go!"
The young man from the Casino Board of Trustees said: "Let's move out!"
Loren also nodded at this mont: "Not a bad idea."
The Chief from the Law Enforcent Departnt said: "The Law Enforcent Departnt greatly respects the Security Departnt's suggestion!"
Then, things beca simple.
Apart from the Law Enforcent Departnt and the Casino Board of Trustees each leaving behind a small number of low-tier Superhumans to guard and clean up the ruins of the Gambling City.
After collecting the bodies of Superhumans who died in the lee beneath the rubble, the Law Enforcent Departnt personnel sealed off the scene, set up cordon tape, began taking photos for evidence, and prohibited anyone from entering or leaving.
This was the "criminal evidence" of the three major families, who, for their own selfish desires, allowed their subordinate Superhumans to disrupt public order in the downtown area of the Main City, causing extrely severe consequences.
As long as they protected the traces here, even if the matter went all the way to the Federation's Supre Court, the three major departnts and the Casino Board of Trustees would be in the right.
As for the others present, they all set off towards the three major families.
The Superhumans from the Casino Board of Trustees, for convenience, chose to ride in the Law Enforcent Departnt's vehicles, heading to the residences of the three major families.
Davis Feller boarded the portable combat vehicle brought by the Special Situation Handling Team, following behind the Law Enforcent Departnt's vehicles.
And Loren, at the invitation of that veteran agent, boarded the Security Departnt's aircraft, choosing to go with them to the residences of the three major families.
Tonight, the Main City of the Jadeite Star Domain was quite lively.
In the first half of the night, a large-scale lee among Superhumans occurred in a casino located in the city center.
The second half of the night was even more thrilling.
In the eyes of the many Main City residents who were still awake, the three major departnts jointly mobilized, a rare sight.
The last ti a joint operation of this scale occurred was decades ago during the crackdown on the "Star Traveler Society" cult.
Law Enforcent Departnt vehicles led the way at the front, followed by the Energy Departnt's portable combat vehicles, with Security Departnt aircraft following in the air.
Upon closer inspection, the Law Enforcent Departnt vehicles also carried a group of Superhumans not in uniform, of unknown origin.
Such a formation was not commonly seen.
And the direction the three major departnts were heading was towards the area of the Main City where the noble factions were concentrated.
Were they finally going to take action against the nobles? Were they finally going to punish those "true remnants" of the old era?
This was the question on many residents' minds tonight.
The higher-ups of the Jadeite Star Domain Energy Departnt also made a call to Davis, asking why there was such a big commotion.
After Davis explained his intentions, this higher-up only left one sentence:
"The incident of openly attacking an Energy Departnt Chief will be on the dia headlines tomorrow morning. You have free rein to proceed!"
The Chief from the Law Enforcent Departnt also received an inquiry from his superior.
After he explained that he was following the Energy Departnt and Security Departnt personnel to collect "public disturbance fines," his superior also fell into an eerie silence.
After a while, this Chief's superior said aningfully:
"Routine official duties are permitted under legal circumstances. Rember to collect a bit more for the public disturbance fines."
The veteran agent from the Security Departnt also received an inquiry from his superior.
"What's the situation? Why are you mobilizing with the Energy Departnt people? And why such a big fuss?"
This veteran agent glanced at Loren, who was resting with his eyes closed across from him, and firmly replied:
"An agent executing a special mission does not need to explain to superiors. I'll file a report when I return."
"Right now, please block those other old nobles who like to stick together for ."
"You withstand their pressure tonight, and then just wait for your promotion. This will be a very impressive entry on your record."
"Hanging up. Don't call unless it's important, wasting energy!"
After saying this, the veteran agent hung up the communication.
That veteran agent's superior was currently in a heavily guarded underground room. He looked at the disconnected device in his hand, the corner of his eye twitching slightly.
"What a rebellious subordinate... It seems inconvenient for him to talk?"
Then, he took a few deep breaths and picked up his communicator again.
"Notify everyone, keep a close watch on all the old nobles within the Jadeite Star Domain tonight. Agents who have already shown themselves, find any random excuse to go check their water ters."
What a subordinate wants to do isn't important;
completing the task assigned by the subordinate is more important.
This was one of the characteristics of the Security Departnt, and also one of its traditions.
After all, every agent had undergone rigorous training, and their loyalty to the Federation was unquestionable.
At the sa ti, these people were elite warriors constantly walking on the edge of danger.
Trusting their imdiate judgnt was a very important thing.
After hanging up the communicator, the veteran agent on the aircraft took a deep breath, adjusted his state, then interrupted Loren's rest with a calm tone.
"Sir, you don't seem to be from the Jadeite Star Domain?"
Loren opened his eyes and glanced up at him.
"Is the Security Departnt's intelligence already that outdated? Las Loren, Interstellar Hunter."
"Compared to cold interrogation, face-to-face conversation has more warmth. Abel Norton, Security Departnt Colonel." The other man shrugged and said.
"Mr. Norton, I have no interest in joining the Security Bureau." Loren said with a smile, shaking his head.
"Ordinary people generally call us the 'Security Departnt.' You seem quite familiar with the Security Bureau?" Abel Norton's unspoken words got stuck halfway.
"On the Interstellar Hunter forums, that Security Bureau long-term recruitnt account is just too active. Hard not to leave an impression." Loren answered humorously.
Abel Norton nodded silently. That did sound like the style of the people within the Bureau.
Training an elite agent was less efficient than recruiting a powerful Interstellar Hunter from outside. After training, they'd be loyal to the Federation anyway.
"You probably aren't from the Nature Sect originally, are you? Mr. Loren."
Abel Norton suddenly looked up and said.
The expression on Loren's face didn't change at all, revealing an extrely gentle smile:
"Oh, what makes you say that?"
