Within minutes, a small crowd had ford.

People leaned in closer, trying to get a better look, excitent and curiosity lighting their eyes.

Inside, the Iron Rat Gang’s argunt continued to escalate.

"Are we really going to stand here arguing while he eats?!" soone hissed.

"Then what do you want us to do?! Touch him and lose our hair?!"

"I’m not risking my cultivation!"

"I’m not risking my life!"

"I’m not risking my future!"

"I’m definitely not risking my balls!"

Their voices rose and fell in chaotic waves, but no one took a single step toward Lin Feng.

At the center of the storm, Lin Feng finally set his cup down.

The faint smile on his lips deepened.

He had finished his tea.

Lin Feng slowly raised his head, his eyes imdiately locking onto Ling Lan, who had frozen near the kitchen entrance.

Her hands were trembling slightly, her fingers still raw and reddened from the minor burn she had suffered while cooking.

Without a word, Lin Feng stood up.

The sea of Iron Rat Gang mbers who had been surrounding him seed to notice the change in the air at once.

Like an invisible force pressed down on them, fear rooted them to the spot.

The closer they tried to approach, the heavier the pressure felt, until eventually, the crowd parted on their own as if the Red Sea itself had opened to give way to him.

Every man, from the tallest thug to the smallest, froze where they were, wide-eyed and sweating.

Not a single one dared take a step closer.

The very presence of Lin Feng made their limbs tremble involuntarily, their teeth clenching as adrenaline mixed with terror coursed through their bodies.

Lin Feng strode forward, calm and unhurried, his movents fluid and deliberate.

The clattering chairs, the shuffling feet, the murmurs... they all seed to fade into silence around him.

He arrived at Ling Lan’s side, kneeling slightly to reach her hand.

Her eyes were wide, her face flushed as she realized how close he had co.

He gently lifted her injured finger.

From his soul space, a small vial appeared, filled with a faintly glowing healing ointnt.

"Hold still," he said softly.

Ling Lan barely managed a nod.

He applied the ointnt with ticulous care.

Instantly, the burned skin smoothed and healed, leaving no trace of injury.

Ling Lan’s eyes widened, and a deep blush spread across her cheeks.

A soft moan threatened to escape her lips, the sensation of warmth and vitality from the healing magic scattering across her nerves and through the rest of her body, leaving a pleasant, almost intoxicating shiver in its wake.

She pressed her hand lightly against her chest, trying to contain herself.

"Be careful next ti, chef," Lin Feng said, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable authority.

"I’m still relying on your precious fingers to cook for today. As for these lowlives..." He gestured slightly toward the frozen, fearful gang mbers. "Leave them all to . You just cook in peace."

With that, he straightened and turned, walking back to his table as if nothing extraordinary had occurred.

His movents were casual, almost leisurely, yet every step radiated the quiet assurance of soone who could bend any situation to his will.

Ling Lan stood there, her heart still racing.

The warmth from his hands lingered in hers, her fingers tingling in a way that made her almost forget the gang mbers lingering in the room.

She watched him return to his seat, utterly unbothered, and felt a mixture of awe, gratitude, and a faint, fluttering embarrassnt she couldn’t quite hide.

anwhile, the Iron Rat Gang remained frozen, unable to move, speak, or even think coherently.

And in the middle of it all, Lin Feng picked up his chopsticks again and continued eating, as if the entire world, fearso gang included, existed only to serve his appetite.

It was then that the crowd outside the restaurant began whispering among themselves, their curiosity quickly turning into gossip.

"Poor Ling Lan... she’s so beautiful that the Iron Rat Gang’s leader took a fancy to her," one woman murmured, her eyes darting nervously toward the restaurant doors.

"I heard about that too," another added, her voice low but trembling slightly.

"He’s been pressuring her to beco his woman. Ling Lan refused... and now his gang threatens anyone who dares to eat here. So poor souls were beaten so badly that they had to walk with canes for an entire month."

A few n in the crowd shook their heads in disbelief, while others exchanged uneasy glances.

"Heaven really has no eyes," one elder muttered softly, his voice carrying both sorrow and frustration. "It pours rain on both the evil and the righteous alike."

A heavy silence fell over the audience for a mont, punctuated only by the distant sounds of the city... hooves clattering on stone, the rustle of clothing as pedestrians passed by, and the faint cries of street vendors hawking their wares.

The crowd sighed collectively, a sound that carried the helpless resignation of ordinary citizens.

They were powerless against the Iron Rat Gang, whose lives revolved around terror and violence.

The gang’s cruelty was unchecked, their reach long and ruthless, while the common people of Clear Moon City were left to suffer in quiet fear.

Even the rich and powerful clans of the city, who held the true influence over law and order, remained indifferent.

They turned a blind eye to the plight of the poor, uninterested in protecting soone like Ling Lan.

Her struggle, her danger, was invisible to them, drowned out by their own concerns for wealth, power, and prestige.

As long as it didn’t affect them, the arrogant clans of Clear Moon City remained completely indifferent.

The suffering of ordinary citizens, the threats of gangs, and even the courage of a young woman like Ling Lan were of no concern to them.

Their only focus was money, strength, and maintaining their status and nothing else mattered.
