Lin Feng noted the curious expression flickering across Li Zhiyan’s face the mont she laid eyes on Ery.

It seed it was ti to properly introduce the two lovely won.

"Ery," Lin Feng said calmly, his tone unhurried, "this is my new maidservant, Li Zhiyan."

Then his eyes shifted slightly.

"Zhiyan, she is my personal cook, Ery."

He remained seated at the dining table as he spoke, his posture relaxed yet dignified.

The table before him was filled with exquisite dishes... steaming soups, tender at glazed in fragrant sauce, freshly prepared vegetables glistening under the lantern light.

Ery stepped forward gracefully and gave a small, precise bow.

"It is my honor to et you, Miss Li," she said evenly.

"From now on, let us work diligently together and serve Master Lin Feng to the best of our abilities."

Her voice was calm and steady, neither warm nor hostile.

Her beautiful face remained composed, her expression cold and serious.

The lantern light accentuated her sharp features, making her seem almost untouchable.

Li Zhiyan returned the bow with equal grace.

"The honor is mine, Miss Ery," she replied softly.

Her tone was polite, yet her eyes did not miss a single detail... Ery’s flawless posture, the steadiness of her breathing, the complete absence of spiritual fluctuations.

She had already tried probing earlier. Ery felt like an ordinary mortal.

But that only made it worse.

"I wasn’t aware that Young Master Lin Feng had a personal cook residing in his courtyard," Li Zhiyan continued casually.

"It’s rather surprising. No one in the academy seems to have seen you before."

The words sounded harmless, but there was subtle exploration hidden within them.

Ery did not hesitate.

"That is only natural, Miss Li," she replied. "I rarely leave the master’s residence. My duty lies here."

Her answer was simple. Too simple.

For a brief mont, silence fell between the two won.

One breath.

Two breaths.

Three.

Lin Feng observed it all quietly.

With calm indifference, he lifted his chopsticks.

"Co, Zhiyan," he said casually. "The food is getting cold."

Just like that, the tension fractured.

Li Zhiyan took her seat obediently.

Ery moved to serve the dishes with flawless precision, her movents smooth and disciplined.

Lin Feng began eating as though nothing unusual had occurred.

Each bite was slow and composed. Each movent controlled.

Throughout the al, Li Zhiyan’s curiosity only intensified.

At first, she had rely been cautious. Now, she was nearly convinced.

The more she observed Ery, the more certain she beca that this woman was not ordinary.

No matter how she looked at it, nothing about Ery matched the profile of a simple cook.

Her posture was too refined. Her breathing too steady. Her gaze too composed.

And that eerie calm...

It was the kind of stillness one only saw in seasoned cultivators or assassins.

Li Zhiyan delicately set down her chopsticks and smiled faintly.

"Miss Ery, won’t you join us?" she asked gently. "The food you’ve prepared is truly exquisite. It would be a sha not to enjoy it yourself."

"Thank you, Miss Li," Ery said evenly. "A cook does not share the table with her master. Please continue."

Her tone was polite. Respectful.

And utterly closed.

Li Zhiyan’s smile did not falter.

She paused briefly before continuing.

"Are you from sowhere near Clear Moon City?"

"No."

The answer ca imdiately.

Not defensive. Not hesitant.

Simply final.

Li Zhiyan’s fingers tightened slightly around her cup.

"How long have you been serving Young Master Lin Feng?"

"For so ti."

Again, short.

Again, revealing nothing.

Every question she posed was t with the sa asured brevity.

Ery offered no unnecessary details, no personal anecdotes, no subtle slips of information.

It was as if she had trained herself to exist within strict boundaries.

And that only made Li Zhiyan more certain.

Ordinary mortals did not behave like this.

Across the table, Lin Feng continued eating calmly, as though he were unaware of the invisible exchange taking place between the two won.

His expression remained tranquil, his movents unhurried.

If he sensed the undercurrents, he showed no sign.

An hour passed in this strange rhythm of polite conversation and careful observation.

Eventually, the final dish was tasted, the final cup of tea poured.

Lin Feng set down his chopsticks.

He picked up a cloth and wiped his mouth with elegant precision before standing.

The simple act carried quiet authority, imdiately drawing both won’s attention.

His gaze shifted to Ery.

"Zhiyan, you may take care of the dishes. There are many spare guest rooms here. You can choose whichever you like. I’ll see you in the morning."

His voice was calm, natural yet it carried unquestionable command.

"Co, Ery. We still have many things to do."

The words were simple.

But to Li Zhiyan’s ears, they echoed.

Many things to do?

For a brief second, her mind stalled.

Lin Feng turned without waiting for a reply, hands clasped behind his back, posture perfect, every step deliberate and asured as he walked toward his room.

Ery followed closely behind him.

Silent.

Obedient.

Not once did she glance back.

The door to Lin Feng’s room closed softly.

And just like that, the courtyard fell into stillness.

Li Zhiyan remained seated for several breaths, staring at the closed door.

Her thoughts churned.

"Not only does Young Master Lin Feng share that kind of relationship with Lady Su... but he also seems to have the sa intimate understanding with his personal cook, Miss Ery. Young Master Lin Feng is really..."

Li Zhiyan trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

Her thoughts were in disarray.

She quickly gathered the dishes and washed them with surprising efficiency, finishing everything in less than a minute.

Her movents were precise, almost chanical... her mind clearly elsewhere.

Once done, she quietly tiptoed toward the master bedroom.

Extending her spiritual sense, she carefully probed forward.

Nothing.

She could neither see, hear, nor sense anything from within.

Her brows furrowed.

"My spiritual sense is blocked? There must be a defensive array in place..."

She was certain of it.

Still unwilling to give up, Li Zhiyan pressed her ear gently against the door.

Silence.

Complete and utter silence.

No footsteps. No movent. Not even the faintest rustle of fabric.

In the end, she stepped back slowly, her expression complicated.

She decided to wait.

Ti passed.

One hour.

Two hours.

Then more hours followed.

The courtyard grew colder as the night deepened. The lantern flas flickered softly in the breeze.

Midnight arrived.

Yet she had not seen Ery leave.

A sudden thought surfaced in her mind, catching her completely off guard.

"This is strange... Doesn’t Young Master Lin Feng only last two minutes in bed?" Li Zhiyan’s confusion only deepened.

The door remained closed.

And the silence behind it felt heavier than ever.
