Yun Luofeng glanced at her master, then back at Lin Feng. Her enthusiasm dimd only slightly under Xia Xinghe’s calm but pointed gaze, yet the light in her eyes refused to fade completely.

"Master, we still have ti," she said, trying her best to sound composed and reasonable. "Aren’t we planning to remain in Clear Moon City until an expert proficient in soul detection techniques arrives to examine... Young Master Lin Feng’s soul?"

The slight pause before his na was almost imperceptible.

"I believe," she continued gently, "that we may also learn more by staying close to Young Master Lin Feng during this ti."

The change in her address did not go unnoticed.

Earlier, she had called him fellow Daoist, a neutral and respectful term between cultivators.

Now, she referred to him as Young Master Lin Feng.

It was an obvious shift, but in their world, titles carried weight. Xia Xinghe’s eyes flickered faintly at that detail. That single look contained both warning and quiet contemplation.

anwhile, Lin Feng had no desire to see the two entangled in disagreent because of him.

He could already sense the subtle tension forming between master and disciple. Though neither raised their voices nor displayed open conflict, the divergence in their intentions was clear.

So he chose to end it gently.

"There is no need to trouble yourselves," Lin Feng said mildly, his tone smooth and unhurried. "Matters concerning the sect should always take priority. I would not dare delay important business."

His voice carried neither disappointnt nor insistence. If anything, it sounded almost considerate.

Then his gaze shifted toward Yun Luofeng.

"If Miss Yun wishes to visit again," he added calmly, "you are always welco at my residence."

The words were simple.

Yet to Yun Luofeng, they carried a weight far greater than they should have.

With that, Lin Feng rose to his feet in one fluid motion, his long sleeves swaying lightly with the movent. The posture alone exuded quiet authority.

The two won from the Nine Peaks Sword Sect followed suit and stood as well.

"Thank you, Young Master Lin Feng," Yun Luofeng replied softly.

The title ca naturally to her now.

"I will be sure to visit one of these days."

Despite her polite response, a faint crease appeared between her brows. The earlier brightness in her expression had dimd, replaced by visible reluctance.

She had clearly hoped to spend more ti here, to observe him further, to perhaps understand the depth behind those calm eyes.

But her master’s presence restrained her.

Beside her, Xia Xinghe did not speak further. She simply cupped her fists once more, her movents graceful and dignified.

"Until next ti," she said.

There was no dramatic display of power.

No overwhelming surge of aura.

Yet in the very next breath, her figure vanished from where she stood.

The air rippled faintly, like a stone dropped into still water, before settling back into silence.

Yun Luofeng remained.

For several seconds longer than appropriate.

Her eyes lingered on Lin Feng, drinking in the sight of him as though committing every detail to mory... the steady gaze, the faint curve of his lips, the composed stance that made him seem untouchable.

The courtyard felt strangely quiet in that mont.

Even the breeze seed to pause.

Lin Feng did not rush her.

He simply stood there, hands clasped behind his back, eting her gaze calmly. There was no mockery in his expression, no impatience. Only quiet acknowledgnt.

That, sohow, made it harder for her to turn away.

Finally, Yun Luofeng lowered her gaze, a trace of embarrassnt surfacing as she realized she had lingered too long.

"Goodbye... Young Master Lin Feng," she said softly.

Then, with a reluctant step backward, her figure blurred and disappeared in the direction her master had gone.

Silence descended upon the courtyard once more.

The rustling of leaves returned.

Distant city sounds faintly drifted in from beyond the academy walls.

Only Lin Feng and Li Zhiyan remained.

Li Zhiyan stood a short distance behind him, her mind far from calm.

She had seen everything.

The way Yun Luofeng’s tone shifted.

The way her eyes shone.

And through it all, Lin Feng had remained steady and composed, guiding the flow of the conversation without ever appearing forceful.

It was as though he had predicted every reaction.

As though nothing had surprised him.

A gentle breeze lifted a strand of his hair, and he finally exhaled softly, his expression unreadable.

The courtyard, now empty of outsiders, felt like the calm after a quiet storm.

Li Zhiyan lifted her gaze toward the morning sky, observing the gentle rays of the morning and roughly estimating the ti.

"Would you like to wake Ery, Young Master Lin Feng?" she asked softly.

Under normal circumstances, Ery would already be awake by now, bustling about the kitchen and preparing a table full of breakfast dishes for them.

The courtyard would usually be filled with the rich aroma of delicious food, along with the lively sounds of morning activity.

But today, there was nothing.

Li Zhiyan hesitated for a brief mont. She could not help but recall what had happened the previous night.

The faint sounds had echoed through the residence, accompanied by strange muffled thuds, small explosions, and other unusual disturbances coming from the master bedroom.

And the lamps had remained lit for an unusually long ti.

A faint flush crept onto her cheeks.

She guessed that Lin Feng must have indulged in cooking rice with Ery for quite so ti. It was only natural that her body would be sore and exhausted this morning.

"Young Master’s appetite for dual cultivation is truly... formidable," Li Zhiyan thought to herself.

For a fleeting second, an unbidden image surfaced in her mind... Lin Feng’s tall figure, his robes discarded, his calm expression replaced by sothing far more intense.

Heat rose to her face instantly.

She quickly shook her head, trying to dispel the inappropriate picture before it could grow any clearer.

"What am I thinking..." she scolded herself inwardly.
