Lin Feng’s voice was steady, indifferent, as though Fang Yuan’s existence or fate was of little concern. Qin Ran took the cup without hesitation.

She drank again, slower this ti, as if weighing his words, then set it down.

"Is that so? But that still doesn’t answer my question," she said. Lin Feng looked at her briefly.

"It is because your question itself is aningless to ," he replied. "It holds no importance, so I have no obligation to treat it seriously."

As he spoke, he once again refilled her cup without breaking his calm deanor.

The strange exchange continued... question, answer, drink, refill like a quiet duel disguised as conversation. Qin Ran observed him carefully.

She was not reckless. If she chose force, she was confident in her own strength. But even now, she did not imdiately act.

Sowhere in the back of her mind, she recalled what Daoist Falling Snow had warned her earlier. Yet she dismissed it for now. Confidence in her own cultivation had carried her through countless dangers.

There was no reason to hesitate here. At least... not yet. For now, she continued using words. She leaned slightly forward, her tone colder.

"Then answer this," Qin Ran said. "You claim Fang Yuan is an evil cultivator. What exactly did he do?"

This ti, Lin Feng did not even pause. He lifted his cup slightly, then spoke in an almost casual tone.

"Him?" he said. "That evil cultivator? He rely practiced forbidden techniques, nothing more." Then, as if adding sothing trivial, he continued.

"And if you want proof, you can look inside your Grand Purity Temple yourself. You will find what he has left behind."

Qin Ran’s eyes narrowed slightly. Lin Feng’s expression remained unchanged.

"That man has taken more than two thousand won as part of his cultivation path," he said calmly.

"He has planted corrupting marks within them, feeding on their vitality and using them as vessels for his evil thods." He took another sip of liquor before continuing.

"If you return and investigate properly, you will find traces of it."

For the first ti since entering the hall, Qin Ran’s expression changed. Not disbelief. A stillness before a storm.

The air in the hall seed to thicken, as though the space itself was reacting to her emotions. Cups trembled slightly on nearby tables.

Even the faint sound of music from earlier had long since disappeared, leaving only silence.

Then...

BANG!

A violent surge of spiritual pressure erupted from Qin Ran’s body.

It was not a reckless explosion, but a controlled yet overwhelming force, like a mountain suddenly pressing down on the entire hall.

The surrounding space trembled under the weight of it, and weaker cultivators felt their breathing tighten instantly. The very atmosphere seed to solidify.

Her white robes fluttered slightly despite the absence of wind, and her snow-white hair stirred behind her like frozen silk. Her voice followed next. Soft. But absolute.

"Lies." A single word. Yet it carried enough weight to make several of the Ning Clan elders pale.

"Take those words back." Qin Ran could not believe what Lin Feng had just said.

For thousands of years, she had served as an elder of the Grand Purity Temple.

She had watched over generations of disciples, guiding them, disciplining them, and protecting them from the dangers of the cultivation world.

To her, they were not just disciples of the sect, but lives entrusted to her care.

And now... To hear that more than two thousand innocent and pure maidens had been used and corrupted by an evil cultivator right under her watch... It sounded absurd. Unthinkable. Unforgivable.

For soone like Qin Ran, who had lived for more than eleven thousand years, such a claim was enough to shake even her steady heart.

A surge of anger rose within her, cold and intense, threatening to break through her usual composure. Her eyes locked onto Lin Feng.

For the first ti since she entered the hall, killing intent flickered within them without restraint. The air around her grew heavy, suffocating, as if a storm was about to descend.

To the others present, it felt like the calm before destruction.

And yet... Lin Feng only smiled. Not nervously. Not cautiously. But with a faint, almost amused curve of his lips. It was as if he was completely unafraid of her anger.

Even more... It felt like he was provoking it.

"Strike down and kill if you must," Lin Feng said calmly, his tone as casual as ever, "but just know that those won will die slow and miserable deaths within less than a hundred years."

The words fell like a blade. Qin Ran’s killing intent halted. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

If it had been a simple denial or a vague threat, she would have dismissed it instantly. But what Lin Feng said was too specific. Too detailed.

There was a weight behind his words that made it difficult to not take seriously. That single mont of hesitation was enough. Her anger did not disappear, but it was restrained. She took a slow breath.

Then another. Forcing herself to think instead of act.

"If you know this much," Qin Ran said, her voice lower now but far more controlled, "then you must also know how to cure them."

Lin Feng did not hesitate. "Of course," he replied. "I may only be a simple man in this world, unwise and uncultured as you said, but curing them is at least one of the few things i know how to do." His confidence was absolute. Not arrogance.

Certainty.

Qin Ran stared at him for a long mont, searching for any trace of deceit in his expression. She found none. Only that sa calm indifference.

Finally...

"Help us," she said. The words were simple, yet heavy. There was no pride in them. No hesitation. For the sake of her disciples, she was willing to lower herself.

The surrounding cultivators were stunned into silence. To hear soone like Qin Ran speak those words so directly... it was sothing they had never imagined witnessing.

But Lin Feng’s response ca without delay. "I do not help for free."
