"Who is it this ti, Father?"

A young woman had entered the chamber, her expression filled with suspicion and frustration.

Her gaze imdiately locked onto Lin Feng and the others.

"Another charlatan coming here to lie and cheat us again?" She said coldly, her gaze sharp and unwelcoming.

"What promises did this man make to you this ti?" The young woman’s voice was laced with undisguised anger, as if he had long since grown tired of false hope and empty words.

Over the years, she had watched her father spare no effort for her sister... inviting renowned physicians, elusive alchemists, wandering cultivators, and even those who claid to be miracle workers.

Each one arrived with confidence, speaking grandly of cures and secret techniques, only to leave in failure.

Yet her sister remained the sa, lying motionless as if the world had forgotten her, trapped within that cruel sleeping curse.

What made it worse was not just the disappointnt, but the cost.

The Bai family, once prosperous and respected, had begun to decline.

Their wealth had been drained bit by bit, exchanged for false hope.

Precious resources, rare herbs, spirit stones... everything had been poured into a bottomless pit.

Still, her sister did not wake.

Her na was Bai ili, the daughter of Elder Bai Yun.

The old man had only two daughters, and both were blessed with beauty that could captivate at a glance.

Bai ili herself was a vision... her delicate features refined and flawless, her eyes bright yet shadowed by lingering worry.

She wore a flowing purple dress that clung to her figure in all the right places, accentuating her natural elegance to an almost unreal degree.

Every movent she made carried a quiet grace, like a noble lady from a painting.

Such beauty did not go unnoticed.

Countless n had sought her hand over the years... young masters from powerful clans, talented disciples from prestigious sects, even wandering geniuses who believed themselves worthy.

So ca with gifts, others with arrogance, and a few with genuine sincerity.

Yet Bai ili had rejected them all without exception.

It was not that she looked down on them, nor that her standards were impossibly high.

Rather, her heart had never been in such matters.

With her sister’s condition weighing heavily on her mind and her father growing older with each passing day, how could she afford to think of romance?

Every ti she looked at her sister’s still form, any thoughts of personal happiness quietly faded away.

Now, standing there, she clenched her hands slightly, her expression calm on the surface but conflicted within.

She wanted to believe just once more that this man might be different.

But after so many disappointnts, even hope had begun to feel like a dangerous thing.

Lin Feng turned around and looked at the newcor. There was no trace of anger on his face.

With a single glance, he had already understood her emotions, even glimpsing the turmoil in her heart.

Still, he chose not to speak, allowing Elder Bai Yun to handle the situation.

"Apologize to Young Master Lin Feng, Li’er!" Elder Bai Yun snapped.

Though he did not release any spiritual pressure, the weight of his authority was unmistakable.

His voice carried both anger and disappointnt toward his daughter.

"Hmph!" Bai ili pouted, clearly unwilling, but she held her tongue and said nothing further.

Elder Bai Yun let out a quiet sigh before turning back to Lin Feng.

"I’m sorry you had to witness that, Young Master Lin Feng. She is my daughter, Bai ili. She only speaks out of concern for her sister, Bai Lian."

"It’s a small matter, Elder Bai Yun. I’m not offended," Lin Feng replied calmly. His gaze drifted toward the inner chambers where Bai Lian rested.

"Now that I’ve seen your daughter, Bai Lian, I can say that healing her is not difficult."

The mont those words left his mouth, Bai ili could no longer hold back.

"What a joke!" she cut in sharply, her brows knitting together in anger.

"I’ve heard those sa words over and over again, and every single one of those so-called experts left with our riches while my sister remained the sa."

Her voice trembled slightly, a mix of frustration and lingering pain.

"If you can truly heal my sister..." she continued, lifting her chin stubbornly, her eyes locking onto Lin Feng’s, "then I’ll marry you right here and now."

The room fell silent at her bold declaration.

Even Elder Bai Yun’s expression changed slightly, clearly not expecting such impulsive words from his daughter.

Lin Feng, however, remained unmoved. His expression was as calm as ever, as though her words carried no weight at all.

"A wife?" Lin Feng echoed, glancing at her with mild surprise.

"You’re still young. I doubt you truly an those words, Bai ili. Don’t speak so carelessly next ti." He shook his head lightly, clearly dismissing her declaration, and turned his attention back to Bai Lian.

Stepping closer to the bedside, Lin Feng reached out and gently took Bai Lian’s wrist, his fingers resting over her pulse.

His expression turned focused as he slowly closed his eyes, as if carefully sensing the flow within her body.

In truth, it was rely for show. Long before he had stepped into the Bai residence, he had already discerned the root of her condition.

The so-called sleeping curse was nothing mysterious to him.

"I’m not young," Bai ili shot back imdiately, her tone firm despite his dismissal.

"I’m already twenty years old." She took a step forward, her gaze unwavering as it locked onto him.

"If you can make my sister wake up, I’ll marry you. I’ll do anything you want. That’s a promise."

Her words rang with stubborn determination, leaving no room for doubt.

Elder Bai Yun could only sigh and shake his head at the side.

This was not the first ti his daughter had spoken so impulsively, driven by desperation and love for her sister.

Lin Feng slowly opened his eyes.
