With the God of Destruction asking them about what they wanted for a reward, the children were all stunned at first. Though they already know that they would be receiving special rewards for defending their land and completing their mission, it still feels completely different when faced with it than just imagining it. Moreover, this wish had a large range of possibilities which made it more special than ordinary rewards.
Haerin asked, "Hei-gege, can it be any wish?"
"Yes but there are limitations. I cannot completely break the original order of the world. I cannot over turn every death and I cannot fulfill any wish the world doesn’t allow. For example, reviving everyone who had died in this world or reviving a group who had died for a very long ti," answers the God of Destruction with a smile.
The children looked a bit confused because the adults around them were shocked, especially the other gods. Resurrection is a power that even the Holy Dragon God is incapable of doing so. First, it requires expertise on Dao of Life and Death. Second, it requires a powerful source of energy to achieve it. For the God of Destruction this is not a problem, permission to revive people his Uncle who is the Sovereign God of Life and Death had given him a certain permission with his authority. The source of energy is not even a problem as he can control chaos itself which is the source of all lives in this cosmos.
The Holy Dragon God asked, "My lord, you... you can revive all beings of our world?"
"I had been given authority by the Sovereign that rules all life and death. But like I said the resurrection must be sothing this world approves of or I wouldn’t have a place for them to live on if this world doesn’t accept them. Upon revival, the heavenly laws of this world only allow to revive a certain group. It can be a person, a pair, a family, a group like one whole race or a collection of people. Within these rules I can revive anyone," said Hei Anjing. "As for the existence of Sovereigns, you will know about them when you ascend to the higher plane where you will know the truth about your world and the universe."
"In short, when you cut off your restriction which this world had placed on you, only that can you go to the other worlds without problems. Did you think being a True God is the last realm in existence? No, there are High Gods, God kings, Celestial Gods, Mythical Gods and finally Sovereigns."
"Alright enough about things about gods. Children, have you thought about what you wish for?" The God of Destruction asked. "By the way, this wish can be anything. A new cultivation technique, increase your strength, lifespan or change your race. Anything is possible."
"Changing the past is also possible. Like reviving a certain person from the distant past~," when he said this his eyes lingers on the Spirit God Thorn and his daughter Xue Laira.
Xue Laira as if she was awakened, imdiately ran towards the God of Destruction and suddenly kneeled in front of him with her hand clasped together and tears pooling at her eyes.
"Your highness, my wish... Please listen to my one and only wish," said Xue Laira. Not far from Xue Laira, the God of all Spirits was also waiting. It can be said that he and his daughter only had one wish.
The God of Destruction smiled and asked, "Tell . What is it that you wish for in your heart, child?"
"P-Please... My mother... Please revive Xue Lirika!" Xue Laira said.
Hei Anjing calmly nodded his head and said, "Alright. Give a mont." All of the sudden he looked at the heavens and said, "Heavenly Laws lend the Book of Life and Death of your world."
{Please do not revive any sinners of this world, Lord of Destruction!} A voice was heard coming from the heavens and a pillar of golden light fell on Hei Anjing. From the sky itself, a black book flustered down and landed on the God of Destruction’s hand.
Hei Anjing opened the book and found the na Xue Laira had ntioned. The na of her deceased mother and checked her records.
The God of Destruction said, "You are quite lucky. The owner of the na you have ntioned hasn’t entered reincarnation yet and she seems to be waiting for you on the other side. Then as you wish Xue Lirika had returned to life."
{With the authority of the Sovereign that rules life and death of the whole universe, I retracted the death of the mortal nad Xue Lirika. Bestow to her a new body and a new life with her original set of mories before she dies. With the power of chaos, I approved of this resurrection.}
These words were spoken with ancient language that can only be understood by the gods. For the mortals, the words turned into so gibberish they couldn’t understand at word. The life and death book in the hands of the God of Destruction started moving when a certain orb of light ca out of it and hovered beside Hei Anjing. Under everyone’s naked eyes, the figure of the woman called Xue Lirika ford before their eyes and finally a living Xue Lirika appeared in front of Xue Laira.
The mont Xue Lirika cos back to life, she looks bewildered. She had no mories of where she was before suddenly appearing in this place. Only when he t the eyes of the Spirit God who was also staring at her did she recognize him.
With a gentle smile on her face, he joyously called, "Thorn, I am back!"
The heart of the aloof God of Spirit Thorn trembles at the appearance of the beloved woman of his life. He thought this was only a dream and when he touched her, she would disappear like those dreams he had before, which is why he hesitated to approach his wife’s figure. On the other hand, Xue Laira, who was stunned at first, finally scrambled to stand up and jumped on her mother.
With a tight hug and tears strolling down on her face, Xue Laira calls, "Mom! Mom! It’s really you! I can finally see you again!"
So gods were shocked by this situation. If there is soone who knew about the love story of the God of all Spirits, they knew it too well. Like how he had fallen in love with a human lady and how she died due to the intervention of the forr Spirit God. She is a mortal who died a decade and a long ti ago. But they had witnessed how this little beastn prince had revived her.
There were no exaggerated rituals or sacrifices. Only a few words were uttered, which sothing no mortals can understand and this mortal who had been dead for more than a decade appeared before them. No she was revived from nothing with her body reconstructed before their eyes and how she woke up alive.
The scene before them was so absurd that everyone was speechless. But this truly happened before their eyes and they had witnessed it collectively. Now no one can deny the fact that the God of Destruction had indeed fulfilled Xue Laira’s wish.
Xue Lirika was surprised when she was suddenly hugged by a beautiful girl. This girl’s features were similar to her and she had heard her called her Mom. Then she finally recalled the little baby girl she had given birth to and the sufferings her daughter had suffered during those monts.
"My daughter!? Laira, it’s you. My sweetie, you have grown well and are so beautiful!"
At this mont, Spirit God Thorn no longer hesitated and appeared in front of his wife and daughter, finally opening his arms to hug them both. Feeling the warmth within his embrace he finally believed. That the wife he had lost a long ti ago had truly co back to life and it is all because of one person, Hei Anjing, who is in front of all of them.
Spirit God Thorn kneeled on the ground with his wife and daughter. They bow their heads before the God of Destruction and thanked him for his rcy.
"Thank you for allowing our family to be reunited, Lord Hei!"
Hei Anjing said, "This is the wish your daughter had made. I had only completed what I had promised before. However, you must rember one thing. I have revived her and only extended her lifespan to what race she is naturally under. In short, her lifespan is still longer than that of a human."
"Don’t worry, my lord. I understand," said Spirit God Thorn.
After helping his wife and daughter up, he took out his essence and gave half of it to his wife. He will be greatly weakened after losing half of his essence as god but this had allowed Xue Lirika to be transford into a half spirit like his beloved daughter. Now their whole family had the sa lifespan as that of a spirit race.
Seeing that the first wish had been fulfilled, the God of Destruction had spoken again.
He asked, "Who is next? Tell what is your wish?"
This ti the children looked at one another. So of them are still hesitant and the others still haven’t thought about what the content of their wish is supposed to be. But among the children, the eyes of the God of Destruction landed on the young couple Long Juedi and Haerin.
"Long Juedi, what is the wish you have in your heart? Tell . I will help you fulfill it~," said Hei Anjing with a teasing tone.
