"I like your enthusiasm, new student. If you don't mind, would you like to tour the academy with ?"

Hasumi held out her hand to Mio with a bright smile.

At that mont, Mio let out a sharp scream inside her heart. She hurriedly said, "Yes, yes! Of course I do!" and imdiately took Hasumi's hand.

At that mont, the corners of Mio's mouth were truly harder to suppress than the world's most powerful rifle.

However, less than two or three minutes after the fantasy of spending ti with the perfect 2D wife she had been secretly in love with for three days began, Mio realized sothing was wrong.

As for Carl, from the very first line Hasumi spoke, he realized Oath's major problem.

That was... the common disease of mobile ga characters, not speaking human language and acting like riddle machines!

"Your arrival is like the sprout of a new world. I look forward to the day you bloom into a flower that heals this world."

Hasumi suddenly said this while introducing the academy's various facilities.

"Mm-hm."

Mio froze for a mont, looking at the subtitles that appeared before her. She could understand every word individually, but when they were connected together... she completely failed to understand.

Even so, she still worked very hard to follow Hasumi's train of thought and understand the aning behind her lines.

Then she discovered she could not understand it at all. With just a simple lapse in attention, she completely lost track of what Hasumi was saying.

"Even within this academy, the erosion of the Calamity still lurks in the shadows, but the light of dawn will eventually dispel everything."

"Ah, right."

Mio was already trying very hard to keep up with Hasumi's lines, but when two other gacha pool characters appeared and began explaining the academy's current situation,

"New student? I see a blazing sun within her. Perhaps it can lt away those hidden erosions."

"Before protection has taken shape, venturing into the deep sea is an unwise choice."

"New student, how do you view all of this?"

Mio was now in a completely empty-headed state, and her fingertips were tapping lightly in midair.

"New student, what are you looking for?"

At this mont, Hasumi suddenly regained so awareness.

Carl noticed that Hasumi's main consciousness was communicating with Mio, not one of those secondary consciousnesses that only knew how to recite lines.

"...The skip button. I an... how much longer is this dialogue going to last?"

Mio subconsciously answered Hasumi's question.

One had to know that even in this world full of trashy online gas, the stories in those trashy online gas could still be skipped. If players did not want to watch them, they could choose not to.

But Oath...

Its story could! Not! Be! Skipped!

"That will not do. The current situation in the academy is very complicated. I must explain it clearly to you before I can feel at ease."

Sure enough, even Hasumi herself could not stand those riddle-like lines.

"Huh? Then... then... can't I walk around first and do other things while you talk?"

Mio already wanted to run off and explore other areas of the map. She did not want to stay in the main story and keep listening to this riddle dialogue.

But unfortunately, Miss Knight Hasumi said with a bright smile,

"That will not do. Rest assured... the explanation of the academy's various precautions is not long. You will be free to explore after only seven or eight minutes."

Carl could be sure that what Hasumi was thinking right now had to be...

Damn it! Before launch, I spent so long morizing this huge pile of complicated lines!

And you, the player, want to skip just because you say so? No way! Sit down and listen properly!

As for what the ga writer was thinking, it was probably... how could players possibly want to skip this huge pile of artistic story I wrote? They would definitely want to listen to all of it imrsively!

However... if you want players not to skip the story, the prerequisite is that the story has to be interesting enough and easy enough to understand!

That way, even if there is a skip option, players will not want to skip it!

Unfortunately... realizing this was still... too difficult for certain mobile ga writers.

"Fine."

Mio could only accept her fate and force herself to keep listening to Hasumi and the other gacha pool characters talk through a huge pile of riddle-like story.

Finally, after seven or eight minutes, just as Mio was about to fall asleep on the spot,

Hasumi and the other two ga characters finally finished the opening story and the related beginner tutorial step by step.

Mio finally escaped from the hell of the unskippable opening main story and entered the free exploration phase.

She glanced at the follow-up main story icon above Hasumi's head, along with Hasumi's line, "We will wait here for your return."

Return my ass! I'm going to clear the whole map first before coming back to listen to your nonsense!

Mio ran off without looking back, as if she had made so kind of resolution.

She moved away from every main story icon and side story icon on the map as quickly as possible, afraid of being pulled into so automatically triggered main or side quest.

This... was the feeling of freedom!

But Mio knew this was only avoidance. She would eventually have to co back and finish this long, tedious main story.

But... if she could escape for one day, then one day it was!

After Mio made up her mind not to do the main story,

she completely turned into a monkey running wild through the mountains and began her happy exploration journey of searching everywhere for treasure chests.

Then...

Carl, the free three-star character, was unexpectedly added to Mio's team.

"Fine. No need to use the monitors. Watching a player play in person is also a kind of... fun?"

Carl transferred his main consciousness into Mio's version of Carl.

The open-world gaplay of Oath was basically searching the whole map for treasure chests containing Contract Stones, mixed with so brain-dead puzzle mini-gas.

But even so... Mio was having the ti of her life.

When Mio worked hard to climb onto the roof of the academy's welcoming building and found her first treasure chest, her heart was once again filled with joy.

[Open Common Chest]

[Obtained: Free Contract Stones x10]

[Beginner Relic Handpiece]

[2,000 Silver Coins]

"You can really get gacha resources just by opening treasure chests? This ga is way too generous, right?"

Mio held ten Contract Stones in her hands. Of course, she knew this was the most precious resource in the ga.

Normally speaking, in other gas, there was absolutely no way to obtain this kind of resource without spending money.

Yet Oath had really stuffed it into treasure chests and given it away for free.

And Mio quickly thought of the hundreds and thousands of similar treasure chests spread across Oath's open world.

At that mont, her desire to explore began burning.

"Sure enough, taking three days off before launch was the right choice! Watch grind every resource on the entire map within three days and get them all!"

"Then I'll pull wife Hasumi from the gacha pool and marry her!"

Mio rolled up her sleeves and felt endless motivation welling up inside her.

This was the normal reaction of most players when they first ca into contact with this type of ga.

They were full of expectations and passion for the ga's future, feeling that it was simply the most fun ga in the world.

However, all of Mio's passion and expectations for this ga would only need one tiny 50% probability to transform into the complete opposite negative emotion.

Carl was looking forward to that day, the day this player lady fell into despair.
