◇◇◇

At this mont, in Ryan's open world, the representatives of the other guilds, including Kyo, had already gathered in the monitoring room where Carl's main body was located.

"This space is way too cramped... One person is fine, but once eight people co in at once, and each person gets assigned a ga table like a gambling table, it really feels a little crowded."

As soon as Carl entered, he heard Ryan complaining.

If it was only one player, the monitoring room's space was still passable.

But with eight people arriving all at once, it really did feel rather crowded.

Still, Carl did not have any extra venue. Monsters would spawn in the space outside the monitoring room.

Elysium Academy was also full of areas where Carl's ga equipnt was forbidden from being placed.

At the current stage, Carl could only hope that after new maps were updated, once he had enough popularity among the players, he could find a wider space to create more interesting gas.

Right now, the six guild representatives invited by Kyo, plus Carl's special guest Mio, all stood in front of their respective ga tables under Carl's instructions.

"Players, the ga you are about to experience is called Monster Battles."

"You can buy these monsters from your respective shops."

A goblin the size of a miniature figure appeared in Carl's palm. It kept making various attacking and walking motions in his hand.

"As long as you place them on the battle board, they will fight automatically."

"Each monster has its corresponding rarity cost, ranging from one-cost to five-cost."

"At the sa ti, they also have two types of synergies, class and race, as well as each monster's own unique skill, allowing every player to create unique lineups and playstyles in the ga."

After Carl briefly explained the general rules of Monster Battles, he gave the eight players present five minutes to confirm each monster's unique skill, the different synergy effects, and the more detailed gaplay.

The eight players present, including Mio, were all top-tier players. Players who were strong at PvP would not have poor ga understanding.

Ryan opened the monster archive and picked up a one-cost Elf monster, studying the data that appeared on it.

Carl's illusion modeling was very refined. Although the monster felt about the sa as plastic in Ryan's hand,

judging from its appearance and lively movents, this elf girl was no different from a real person at that miniature size.

[Elf Archer, One-Cost]

[Monster Skill: When the charge bar is full, this unit gains 30%/50%/100% attack speed.]

[Race Synergy, Elf: When this synergy reaches 3/5/7/10, it will summon an Ancient Tree Colossus onto the battle board. The Colossus's strength increases based on the synergy level, and additional abilities are unlocked.]

[Class Synergy, Marksman: At 2/4 synergy, Marksman units gain increased physical attack. Every four attacks deal additional physical damage.]

"Ancient Tree Colossus? Are you sure this isn't so giant robot?"

Ryan glanced at the extended unit from the Elf synergy, the Ancient Tree Colossus.

Its overall design was a magical construct covered in dense vines. For players who loved giant robots, it was simply irresistible.

As for the strength of this Colossus, Ryan did not bother reading the earlier description. The 10-synergy effect at the end only had one simple and direct sentence.

[At 10 synergy, ten seconds after combat begins, the Ancient Tree Colossus will smash the entire board with a single punch, instantly killing all enemy units!]

Skipped the front, skipped the middle. Anyway... instant kill!

There were only seven Elf race monsters in the archive. To reach 10 Elf synergy, one would not only need to spend a large amount of gold upgrading population,

they would also need to obtain a conversion item to turn other monsters into Elves.

But none of that could stop Ryan's urge to play 10 Elves. The words "instant kill" were simply too tempting.

The harder it was to complete the synergy, the more satisfying it felt when achieved.

Win once, feel good all day!

"Damn... this whole gaplay loop of buying, selling, and assembling strong synergies, why does it feel so much like building a perfect hand in a card ga?"

Ryan quickly snapped back to reality and realized that Monster Battles felt a lot like chasing the perfect combo in a card ga.

Both were about reaching that one satisfying mont when everything finally clicked.

"Looks like a player has already figured out the core logic of this ga," Carl said in agreent.

"But it feels much better... after you hit your combo, you actually get to watch it play out. Whether it's synergies or five-cost units, the effects are insane. There are so many ways to win!"

"Damn it! Thinking about it like this, I really can't lose!"

As Ryan said this, he rolled up his sleeves and entered serious mode.

"Is Crimson Sigil that obsessed with first place in Extre Abyss?"

Crimson Night glanced at Ryan and teased him lightly.

But Ryan, the seasoned veteran, saw much further than the other seven present.

He said sothing that made the other five guild players' hearts tighten.

"Taking first place in Extre Abyss is one thing. The second is... if you don't get hooked after playing this ga, then fine."

"But if you do get hooked, then it's over. Because we only get this one match. After this, we have to go back to grinding Extre Abyss."

"So if I win this round and take first place, at least I got my fun. For the next four days, I can rely on that satisfaction to keep going."

"Once Version 1.1 drops and Extre Abyss resets, we can co back and play again."

Ryan's tone turned darker as he continued.

"But if you lose... and you get hooked..."

"Then for the next four days, you'll be tortured by thoughts like 'Why didn't I win?' and 'I just want one more round!' clawing at your brain the whole ti."

"Tch. That feeling is worse than death."

It sounded exaggerated, but it was true.

Everyone here was a top player from their respective guilds, core mbers for clearing Extre Abyss.

So of them were even under contract for it.

This match of Monster Battles was already a rare break. One or two rounds at most, then they had to leave.

As long as they did not get hooked, it would be fine.

But Carl scanned the room.

Including Mio, almost everyone had the sa expression.

"I absolutely cannot lose this match."

Alright... everyone was hooked. The ultimate tryhard match of Monster Battles had begun.

As the host, Carl glanced at each player's chosen lineup.

Ryan, as expected, went for the Elf synergy, aiming for the giant ch-like Colossus to crush everything.

Kyo chose the Goblin lineup. Goblins specialized in endlessly producing turrets. At high synergy, they could overwhelm enemies with sheer numbers.

Crimson Night chose the Empire synergy, focusing on enhancing the power of a single strongest unit.

Then Carl looked at Mio.

She had chosen what was likely the weakest early and mid-ga lineup, Thief.

This was a scaling, cash-out synergy.

The Thief synergy increased the level of its treasure chest based on win or loss streaks. Players could open the chest at any ti to gain rewards.

Thief units had very weak combat power.

But in the late ga, if Mio was lucky enough to raise the treasure chest to its highest level, she could obtain a special unit that granted bonus gold every ti she purchased a Thief unit.

An ability that could be called the strongest in auto-battler gas, effectively turning her economy into a money printer.

The only condition was that she had to survive long enough.

Right now, the thoughts of the six top guild players were all the sa.

Let's win first place and enjoy the ga! Otherwise, we'll be thinking about it for the next four days. That would be too painful!
