Regarding the expansion of Netherworld Village's gaplay, Carl's idea was simple. The players could not stay trapped inside Netherworld Village forever.

"Sophia, do you agree with this decision too?" Carl had not expected the residents of Netherworld Village to support his thinking.

"This is an abandoned part of Elysium. In truth, it no longer has any real value worth saving. The fact that a discarded landfill can serve as a playground for the Saviors is already a stroke of luck."

Sophia expressed strong agreent with Carl's view.

"But on the surface, Elysium still has many regions deeply corrupted by the plague, and people there are still fighting to the death to protect their hos. The Saviors should go to those places and help rebuild them."

The residents of Netherworld Village could already gather enough antidote simply from the fun players had while exploring the different areas of Netherworld Village and the City of Glory.

In fact, most of the NPCs abandoned by Elysium had entered a state of forced hibernation.

Those NPCs were empty shells that had completely lost their self-awareness. Carl could not save them even if he wanted to.

Therefore, the next step in the gaplay Carl envisioned would be built around the hideout system.

He would find a piece of land on the surface to serve as a player construction zone, then recruit wandering NPCs during the building process.

In short, he would let the players build their own stronghold, or even their own city, with their own hands.

"Regarding that, Lord Carl, perhaps you could consult Lady Anan," Hasumi suggested at the right mont.

"As a mber of the Abyssal Knights, she should know of many Calamity Plague zones that Elysium is close to abandoning."

Ever since Hasumi chose to join Carl's faction, she had started feeling more and more like his adjutant.

Carl was also considering the possibility of giving Hasumi an SP variant, or sothing similar, in the future.

But now was not the ti. The main reason was that Carl really could not find any suitable monsters to build a combat kit around.

In any case, Hasumi was having quite a bit of fun accompanying players as they explored Netherworld Village.

Whether Hasumi was protecting those players as a knight, or getting so terrified that her composure broke and she ended up crying while slurping noodles, she could always gain the support of a group of loyal fans and earn Sacred Contract Stones every day.

This job was honestly as easy as it could get.

"Anan? Now that you ntion it, she just sent a ssage saying she wants to see . In that case, let's head to the City of Glory and take a look."

Carl felt that the official Oath team had definitely noticed Netherworld Village's existence.

The easter egg announcent sent by the Saintess was essentially a declaration that they were going to crack down on the rebels.

As for how the Oath officials specifically planned to deal with the players from Descent into Netherworld Village invading the main ga, Carl felt the answer would be revealed tonight.

For now, Carl could only return to the Main World first. Relying on his illusion abilities to disguise himself, along with the deliberate blind eye turned by the Abyssal Knights in charge of security, he arrived at the eting spot atop the city wall.

Although Carl was not wanted in the City of Glory, this level of caution was still necessary to avoid suspicion.

No matter what, Anan was currently working for the authorities.

The "authorities" here referred not only to the Holy Nation, but also to the official Oath team.

After all, simply by generating the joy players felt when they pulled high-rarity characters from the gacha, the Oath officials could allow the Saintess to heal a massive number of Calamity Plague patients. It was an extrely abundant source of treatnt.

Additionally, the main storyline of Oath version 1.2 seed very well received. It featured an older-woman romance route that players found quite touching.

Given Oath's current excellent performance, both the Holy Nation and Anan trusted it completely and simply could not afford to lose the support of the Oath officials.

But the reason Anan was willing to stay in contact with Carl was that so patients could not be cured by the joy produced from players' gacha pulls.

Including Anan herself.

"Your symptoms don't look like they've improved much." When Carl t Anan again, he felt that the Calamity Plague on her body had barely been cleared at all.

"It's just . After my boys finished playing hide-and-seek with those villager Saviors, their conditions improved quite a bit. As for ..." Anan looked indifferently at the gray-white discoloration clinging to her body.

"Maybe I need stronger emotions? Sothing like the rush of defeating a powerful enemy?" Anan herself was not sure what kind of emotion from the players would be able to cure her.

"This... the rush of defeating a powerful enemy is sothing Oath's current combat system definitely can't provide." Carl could understand the hunger and regret in Anan's heart.

Oath's combat system was the most common kind used in mobile gas. It looked like an action ga where players fought monsters back and forth, but in reality, it was mostly about stacking stats and pumping out damage.

Most players did not even watch the monsters' moves during combat. They simply dumped their full skill rotation, waited for cooldowns, then repeated the cycle.

The action elents in Oath only existed because Elysium itself was a realistic ga system, which allowed so pro players to pull off certain techniques and combos.

But when players played Oath on their phones, it was basically a pure turn-based ga.

"Enough about . Tell what you need first. I've always preferred helping soone out before asking them for a favor."

Anan did not seem to care much about the Calamity Plague symptoms on her body, though it was unclear how much longer she could endure them.

"I want to obtain a region on the surface. Even land corrupted by the Calamity Plague would be fine. I imagine the Holy Nation wouldn't be too interested in a place like that."

Carl's request instantly piqued Anan's interest.

"There are indeed so plague zones blockaded by the Holy Nation, though most of them are near the borders. However, there happens to be one piece of land near the City of Glory."

Standing on the city wall, Anan pointed toward a distant area. That place was likely a map that had not yet been opened in the current version of Oath.

"But if you truly intend to hand that land over to the villagers of Netherworld Village for developnt, you'll need to be careful of suppression from the Holy Nation."

At this point, Anan revealed a crucial piece of information to Carl in advance.

"The Holy Nation and the Academy Head's faction are already drafting restrictions against everything related to Netherworld Village. They will likely begin taking action tomorrow or the day after."

"So even if Elysium allows you to expand the construction range of the Netherworld Village Saviors to the outskirts of the City of Glory, you will very likely face suppression from the Holy Nation and the Saviors under the Academy Head's command."

After hearing Anan's series of warnings, Carl had originally thought his ability to suppress laughter had beco quite polished recently.

He had not expected Anan's warning to make him nearly lose his composure again.

"Cough..."

Carl used his index finger and thumb to hold down the corners of his lips, but he still could not escape Anan's sharp gaze.

"What's so funny? My warning is serious. The Academy Head's faction will issue an extrely strict Netherworld Village ban tomorrow. Any Savior connected to Netherworld Village will be restricted." Anan tried to make Carl understand the gravity of the situation.

"It's even possible that the Academy Head will launch an event to attack the Netherworld Village base."

"So who's attacking whom here? Are the Oath officials planning to make players raid the base they built themselves?" Carl revealed the reason he had been holding back his laughter.

"Their own base? There shouldn't be that many Netherworld Village villagers, right?"

Although Anan knew there were Saviors who had beco villagers, she had no idea what proportion they made up. Whether it was one in a thousand or even one in ten thousand was still a question.

"Because I haven't opened the eligibility yet." Carl showed Anan a special interface.

This interface was exactly what Carl had been planning. In the second half of version 1.1, what should happen to the players who stabbed Carl and therefore lost access to Descent into Netherworld Village?

Elysium's suggestion was to let them replay version 1.1. Wouldn't it be enough to go back and stab the Saintess instead?

Judging by that suggestion, Elysium seed to have a bit of a troll streak too.

Elysium's current stance toward Carl and the Oath officials was to support both sides.

And the proposal Carl submitted to Elysium was called "Anonymous Alt Profiles."

Oath players could now create an alt profile that inherited all the assets of their main account, while allowing both the ID and character appearance to be completely remade for playing Descent into Netherworld Village.

The data for this alt profile belonged to Carl, and everything would be hidden from the official Oath team.

In Carl's view, this was the most effective way to counter Oath's incoming total ban.
