Claire Sinclair muttered under her breath, "Seeing a doctor would be useless. I’m probably just exhausted from today... or maybe it’s your fault..."
"Hm?"
"Every ti you touch there, I feel weak all over, and it’s not comfortable at all."
At her words, Adrian Quincy instantly understood.
He leaned in slowly, whispering in her ear, "Next ti, we’ll try a different approach."

’I absolutely do not want a ’next ti’ with him!’
Good tis never last. Soon enough, Claire Sinclair got a call from Editor-in-Chief Sumrs, telling her to hurry back and help out.
Claire Sinclair practically fled from his sight. When she returned to the office, all eyes imdiately turned to her.
Editor-in-Chief Sumrs said, "Claire, quickly get the materials ready with Holloway. The TV station needs them right away."
"Got it!" Claire Sinclair went back to Holloway and resud helping her.
Holloway couldn’t resist doing a little digging. "Claire Sinclair, what’s the deal with you and Young Master Quincy? The rumor mill is buzzing about you two."
The office was quiet at that mont. Her voice wasn’t loud, but many people heard it. No one looked over, but they were all secretly straining to listen.
Claire Sinclair had anticipated the rumors, so she didn’t try to hide anything. Instead, she deliberately raised her voice and said:
"My older sister was one of Mr. Quincy’s bodyguards. Two years ago, she sacrificed her life to save him, and he’s never forgotten that debt. It’s just a coincidence that our paper is on assignnt here. When Mr. Quincy heard I had co, he called over and said he wanted to treat to a al."
After a brief pause, Claire Sinclair feigned a helpless sigh. "As you know, Mr. Quincy is an incredibly busy man. A private al was out of the question, so he just took to the cafeteria. Now I’m worried. Editor Wallace was already saying Mr. Quincy is my backer. I hope this doesn’t reflect badly on Mr. Quincy, does it?"
Her explanation not only drew a clear line between herself and Adrian Quincy, but it also served as a subtle warning for everyone to stop spreading false rumors.
Sure enough, after hearing her side of the story, the onlookers lost their curiosity and looked away.
Holloway mused, "Given your sister’s standing at Quincy Manor, you could have easily gotten a job there. Why didn’t you?"
After all, the pay and benefits at Quincy Manor were on a completely different level from Astoria Daily.
Claire Sinclair smiled and said, "I’m well aware of my own limitations. Even if they pulled so strings to get a job at Quincy Manor, I don’t have the skills for it. I’d just be wasting their money and resources."
Her words made Holloway laugh. "Haha, I don’t think I’ve ever t soone as honest as you. But don’t worry, our paper isn’t so bad either. If you work hard, you’ll have a bright future ahead of you."
"I still have a long way to go. Holly, I hope you’ll show the ropes from now on."
"Not a problem. As long as you’re willing to learn, I’m willing to teach."
Holloway readily accepted her request for help. ’The person Hanson recruited really has a good head on her shoulders,’ she thought. ’She’s got real potential!’
Claire Sinclair had cleverly steered the conversation toward work, and the eavesdroppers quickly lost interest.
Claire Sinclair chatted with Holloway for a while longer and discovered she was on good terms with Teacher Hartwell personally.
In any workplace, every company has its little cliques.
Holloway and Teacher Hartwell were in the sa clique, but everyone else in their group had been assigned elsewhere. The colleagues who remained in the office had ford another clique.
In Holloway’s words, their clique—the ones who were always running around on assignnts—was called the ’Action Faction.’ The other one, whose mbers sat in the office and were too lazy to even take out the trash, was the ’Idealist Faction.’
These days, only one or two mbers of the Action Faction were still at the paper; everyone else was an Idealist.
