"Look at you, getting all smug. This dress is my proudest creation this year, you know. Would it kill you to complint ?"
Claire Sinclair turned around and saw Aiden Howkins standing at the door with a beautiful woman. They were the ones who had just been bickering.
’I can’t believe Aiden Howkins is bickering with a woman. I’ve really seen it all now!’
’Speaking of which, who is that woman?’
Noticing Claire Sinclair looking her way, the woman took the initiative to introduce herself. "Mrs. Quincy, hello. I am the designer of the dress you’re wearing. You can call Marina."
’Mrs. Quincy...’
’It sounds so awkward.’
That was what Claire Sinclair thought, but she didn’t let it show. She responded politely, "The dress is gorgeous. Thank you."
Aiden Howkins suddenly cut in, "It’s about ti, Young Madam. This way, please."
Marina said irritably, "Would it kill you to let her praise a little more!"
Aiden Howkins pretended not to hear her and gestured for Claire Sinclair to proceed.
Worried about being late, Claire Sinclair didn’t say anything else and simply walked out.
As she left, she thought she saw Marina pinch Aiden Howkins’s arm...
’Those two must have a pretty good relationship.’
Back in the car, Claire Sinclair couldn’t resist asking, "Aiden, who was that woman, Marina?"
"Mrs. Hartwell’s star pupil. She’s an incredibly talented designer."
"Oh, so her protégés are everywhere."
Claire Sinclair had only one thought: ’Mrs. Hartwell is an incredible woman.’
Aiden Howkins just smiled without comnting.
Claire Sinclair asked another question, "Is this dress very expensive?"
Aiden Howkins laughed. "Expensive? Not really. Marina is Young Master Quincy’s personal designer. She designs all the clothes he wears in public. Since she’s designing a dress for you, the price is certainly favorable."
He paused for a mont, as if recalling sothing, then added, "Actually, the wedding gown Young Master Quincy first gave you was also designed by Marina."
Claire Sinclair had little mory of the wedding gown she had worn only once and never seen again. Besides, she’d been tricked into the marriage back then. Everything had been so rushed; ’the gown was probably nothing special anyway,’ she figured.
’But this dress I’m wearing is so beautiful. It must be a bestseller, right?’
’I hope no one else is wearing this dress at the banquet later. I’d die of embarrassnt.’
At this thought, Claire Sinclair subconsciously clutched the hem of her skirt and asked nervously, "I won’t end up wearing the sa dress as soone else, will I?"
The sa dress? Aiden Howkins couldn’t help but chuckle at her question.
"Young Madam, I can personally guarantee that you will absolutely not see anyone else in this dress."
"Oh, good!" Claire Sinclair finally let out a sigh of relief.
「The Caspian International Grand Hotel.」
Inside the second-floor grand hall, champagne-colored lights bathed the luxurious decor, making the entire space look magnificent and opulent. Elegantly dressed guests glided down the red carpet, flanked by reporters from every major entertainnt outlet as cara flashes flickered nonstop.
The M2L tenth-anniversary banquet was about to begin, and the red carpet was in full swing. The celebrities were pulling out all the stops to capture the attention of the caras.
So female guests lingered stubbornly, refusing to move on, just to get a few extra seconds in front of the caras—especially the lesser-known starlets in sexy, revealing outfits.
After a succession of wannabe starlets in nearly identical styles, the photographers’ enthusiasm waned, a sense of visual fatigue setting in.
Just then, a dazzling silver supercar pulled up to the entrance.
The door swung open, and a pair of sexy, alluring legs stretched out.
